Oh god
Hello Democrats, 8 kabillion Republican primary candidates resulted in Trump in 2016. Take a lesson from history and learn from it.
Booker is all photo op no substance

So far my concern is that nobody is standing out to me as “that’s who the nominee should be!” But I guess maybe that is ok at this point since I am sure trump will start his attacks soon. Whoever he targets the most is probably who he feels most threatened by.

......... I agree with hop, too many running!
Former Gov Christie Whitman says he is a good candidate and she is republican.... (and not a trump supporter)

I somewhat disagree with you. There might not be an obvious front runner, but so far there are several highly qualified women who would likely make for an excellent president. I'm looking forward to watching some robust and substantive debates. Yes Trump will continue with his name calling/nicknames, but I really feel like our country is losing it's appetite for such behavior and it won't serve Trump very well going into another general election.

I agree that there are several qualified candidates. I would need to hear more about them and their platform to determine who I want to vote for in the primary. I do think that many of them are so new that people really don’t know much about them, and they are going to have to show that they are working for all, not just their specific demographic. To be clear, I don’t think that they are necessarily promoting themselves as such. But the media tends to paint them as “trying to get” the female/black/Latino/inner city/vote. I also really want the candidate to be able to beat Trump. I have less faith today than I did in 2016 that a majority of people, especially republicans looking for a trump alternative, or independents, will vote for a minority or a woman. I also wouldn’t be surprised if trump ends up dropping out for “health reasons” if the heat gets to be too hot with the Mueller investigation.

It's OK to have lots of good choices in the race. So long as all of the choices are decent, you won't end up with an "oh crap, now we're stuck with the crappiest nominee ever" like with Trump.
What is bad is when people get so attached to 'their' candidate in the primary that they decide not to vote in the general if their guy makes it through. Looking at you, Bernie or Bust voters.
I hope Bernie doesn't run. He shouldn't run as a Democrat since he isn't a Democrat. I don't know why he thinks he should be allowed to be their candidate, or why people got so butthurt that he was 'cheated' out of the nomination. Why would he be entitled to be the nominee for a party he doesn't belong to? In any case, one of the tactics the Russians used was pushing the narrative that you should just stay home to protest Bernie not getting the nomination. Who did that help? Not America.

I like Corey booker. I like kamala harris’ grasp of the need for criminal justice reform. I like sherrod browns stance on healthcare. I love joe Biden and think he could beat trump. So team up any two of these and I’m down.

Years ago I was a fan of Bernie ( not necessarily for president) but I am so over his grab for the presidency. He should just go the hell away or he will screw the Democrats again in the next election.
I also really like Joe Biden as a person and a representative but don't want him to run. It is time for younger, fresher candidate.
I think Elizabeth Warren would make an excellent president but I am uncertain that she could win the election.
At this point Kamala Harris has my vote but it is a long time until the primaries and things may change a lot by then.
I will absolutely 100% vote for the Democratic candidate whoever that is.

there's so many good choices I don't know who to pick in the primary yet? Kamala, Cory, or Elizabeth Warren? I have always wondered about Cory not being married. There's very few Congressman who aren't. Crazy Graham comes to mind, I think he's in the closet. I also wouldn’t be surprised if trump ends up dropping out for “health reasons” if the heat gets to be too hot with the Mueller investigation. I think he'll totally play that card!

Why on earth is Booker's marital status or sexual orientation an issue and why would you wonder about it? I wonder about each candidates ability to handle the office they are running for but not who they are sleeping with.

I don't think Elizabeth Warren has a real chance of getting out the Primaries - there are just better, stronger candidates who don't have her baggage. Right now, I am researching Booker, Buttigieg and Harris. I think there is a potential winner in one of those three.

Ms Harris need to rethink her strategies. She can not keep blasting the Cheeto. Nor can she focus on mainly health care.

It would be nice to have someone with little or no baggage. Hillary was so flawed that it was easy for the Republicans to focus on that and not even talk about policy.

Ms Harris need to rethink her strategies. She can not keep blasting the Cheeto. Nor can she focus on mainly health care. While she is for health care, she is also for sensible gun laws, equality, middle class tax cut called LIFT, funding for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, better education.. Not once has she said anything about trump. The reason I know this is because I get her fund raising emails and I follow her on twitter.

I have problems with Booker's support of charter schools and merit pay for teachers, but I could not possibly care less about his sexuality.

I googled ... presidential candidates"Who’s officially running so far 8 Elizabeth Warren announces 2020 presidential exploratory committee Kirsten Gillibrand announces a 2020 presidential exploratory committee Sen. Cory Booker, a champion for marijuana legalization and criminal justice reform, is running for president Kamala Harris announces her historic 2020 presidential campaign Julián Castro declares his 2020 presidential candidacy Tulsi Gabbard, the controversial, long-shot Democratic 2020 candidate, explained Marianne Williamson is Oprah’s spiritual adviser. She’s also running for president. Pete Buttigieg announces his 2020 presidential campaign" What do y'all think of Julian Castro? Do we need a thread where we could discuss the candidates. What we like and doin't like about each. We could keep it going until the election.

I oscillate between believing this, and that he will blame his loss on the deep state, and wondering if he just MIGHT not want to run if he determines he's gonna get he shit kicked out of him. It's hard to make sense of insanity.

ABC News...
”Sen. Cory Booker to @theview: "There's a lot of pain out there in America...No party has a monopoly on that hurt."
"We have a common pain in this country, but we've lost our sense of common purpose." abcn.ws/2DNX7xx”
I certainly hope he has more then this.

I think he's an interesting candidate. I also like your idea of a candidate thread. I think you should start it!

I like Cory Booker. There are others I like as well. I don't know enough about any of them yet to fully support them.
However, Cory's catchphrase is all that. "Together, we will rise." I LOVE it. I have been saying and saying that the Democrats must be able to bond behind a phrase. "yes, we can" was it in 2008 and we haven't had one since. Of course we need competency and intelligence and vision, but the simplicity of a catchphrase makes people bond behind you.
His ad was just outstanding.
