I love antiquing. I grew up antiquing with my parents, and the older I get, the more I love it. Anyway, I bought a 2-drawer library card catalog for $32 a few months ago, and I love it. And yesterday I found this beauty for $3. It will be great for mixing paints and using as a palette. I am thinking of getting a few more to use in classes. Do you like antiquing? Do you use your finds in your creations?

How big are those trays? I have a couple of Tupperware trays designed for eating from at a picnic. I have them on high shelves to hold sb tools. Hadn’t thought of using them for mixed media.

I grew up antiquing as well and I love them 💕 I usually pick some things up from yard sales but haven’t found much for my scrap room yet. A couple of vintage bowls. I’d eventually like to fill my whole house with antiques

I love antiquing, went just the other day. I use some of my finds for tabletop craft storage. I just picked up a few books to use for ephemera that were dirt cheap. My favorite possessions are all antiques.

I decorate my whole home primitive/antique/country style. My crafting room has a Tailor's table with yardstick still attached, a printer's cube holds ephemera etc., an antique yellow carpenter's box holds my alphabets, then I have newer item's from a Country store local to me they are called chicken feeding boxes I have 3 one in barn red, mustard and navy blue that holds punches, stamps, paints, washi tape etc. I then have some country looking cabinets and shelves that I bought from Hobby Lobby.

I am thinking of getting a few more to use in classes. Do you like antiquing? Do you use your finds in your creations? Our thrift store had a stack of them a few months ago. I would have never thought of that use.
I have three plastic Coke crates that I use for sorting different projects. I have a grocery store shopping basket I bought at a yard sale. I throw left over bits from projects for putting away later. Not exactly vintage but used for different purposes.

I do love some antique things, but it is really not my style for having it as decor or use in my home, so I don't. I think I love it more because of it's history.

That looks like the food tray we ate off of in elementary school except it was green.

Do you use your finds in your creations? Just saw a whole stack of these for sale on FB market place. I have seen a whole bunch on eBay but way too expensive. There was probably a stack of 20 of these at the antique store for $3 each. I like a good bargain. And FurryP, I do have antique pieces for decor because they are family heirlooms from the late 1800's/early 1900's. Our guest room is filled with my great grandmother's furniture--bed, dresser, and cedar chest. I also have my great grandmother's chest that she used for all 8 of her babies in our living room. I use it as an end table. It has 3 drawers and is wonderful. I have other family pieces too throughout the house. When we lived in England, my parents purchased many wonderful antiques that I have my "name on" when they pass. My parents have us put our names on things we would love to have some day. It's actually a running joke that my sister and I get the good stuff and our brother is getting a roll of toilet paper.

I use an antique Fiesta ware type creamer and sugar bowl in my scrap area. The creamer has washi tape rolls in it and the sugar bowl has roller stamps.
They don't hold a ton, but they're cute!

Sadly, I'm so old that I remember those files from my first office job in an insurance company. There were rows and rows of those files, stacked 2 high. They were full of file cards for policy loans. People would take loans out against their life insurance policies. The loans were written on file cards and the payments were recorded on them. It was my job to pull and file the cards for processing. All day, every day. Hundreds and hundreds of cards. Packed so tight in the drawers that my cuticles would get all torn up and bleed. Lordy, I hated that job. . LOL Patter , what a clever find for mixed media! I've been saving rigid, clear plastic packaging material to use as 'trays' for gelli plate printing and as paint trays for mixed media. I need to head to a thrift store or two and 'think outside the box' to see what I can find. I haven't been out antiquing in ages. My sister is now lives in my neighborhood. When the weather warms up, that would make a fun day out. She likes to do crafty things, too.

I will forever lament the green filing cabinet I let get away. At the time I didn't have space, but I should have just made it fit somehow! If we ever move again, I'd love to redo my scrapspace with vintage storage.

I love antiquing. We just went yesterday. We needed up with a coffees table and two end tables. My typewriter is from an estate sale for $15 dollars, I also have purchased antique post cards for ephemera on a few pages. I just by the ones I like or ones with funny sayings etc. Love your tray idea. That is genius

I found another tray half of the size of the one above and made by Tupperware. Hubby told me to get it so that I have a smaller option when I want it. Then I got a few other goodies. It was a fun day.

I love antiquing...I don't do it enough at all. I have a couple of things that have been passed down from my in-laws that no one wanted.. One is a highchair that even my kids used at one point.. and a little display box that holds whatever.. both are probably over 100 years old. Both have been painted at least a million times.. which is probably keeping them from falling apart.. lol..

hands down my best "antique" find---my card catalog for $150.00. i keep most of my SB embellishments in there I got my card catalog for 150 as well, same size as yours but darker wood with brushed nickel. I got mine from a custodian from a local college, he got two when they were getting rid of them and was gong to turn one into a wine rack, I don’t know what he had intended to do with the second one, but I found it on Craig’s List. I almost cried when I heard what he was doing to the other one, I would have bought it too if he had been willing to sell! It is my most favorite thing in my scrapbook room.

I bought it from a girl who worked at the library at UCLA. She bought it from them. She was moving out of Los Angeles and couldn't take it with her. It's solid wood with 60 drawers. It's the biggest pain to move because the legs are so delicate but it's the best. I was very lucky to have found it. I really want looking one. Just happened upon it on Craigslist. Picked it up on one of the hottest days in LA and from an apartment with a million steps. It took three of us to move it.
