hands down my best "antique" find---my card catalog for $150.00. i keep most of my SB embellishments in there I got my card catalog for 150 as well, same size as yours but darker wood with brushed nickel. I got mine from a custodian from a local college, he got two when they were getting rid of them and was gong to turn one into a wine rack, I don’t know what he had intended to do with the second one, but I found it on Craig’s List. I almost cried when I heard what he was doing to the other one, I would have bought it too if he had been willing to sell! It is my most favorite thing in my scrapbook room. Craigslist for me too!

Skellinton and papersilly , I have two small ones but would love one with 60 drawers. I have only seen one locally once, and they wanted $1,000. No way. Maybe someday I will run into one. Not sure where I would put it but. And here is one of my other antique finds that I use in my room. LOVE it too, and I paid under $100 for it.

I love when things can be repurposed especially for craft storage. I swear I love storage containers. Btw, I noticed on the daily birthday greetings that we share the same bday. When I was I high school, I loved sharing my bday with a member of my favorite band, Duran Duran, more so than Joan Rivers. Lol

I just remember you from the list because your user name is so easy to remember.

I went to a local store and found a 6 drawer card catalog for $40, and got it, knowing I could never find or afford a big card catalog. Low and behold, a few weeks later a coworker mentioned he knew someone who had one for sale. So now I have a 6 drawer and a 60 drawer card catalog!

I was so excited to get this little beauty today, it is going to sit next to my card catalog once I get the sticker stuff off of it. Apparently Instagram isn’t actually imbedding today, but here is a link. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt9sNujjRUA I also got a bunch of Basic Grey, Sassafrass Lass, Scenic Route and Cosmo Cricket papers. I guess they qualify for this thread since they are vintage in the world of scrapbooking!!!

It does look like yours, the drawers each hold an Avery Elle envelope on their side and they are as deep as my card catalog. it is 10 levels high, so just about 5 feet tall I think. I can’t wait to start filling it up, but that will have to wait until Wednesday. I got all the gunk off, it looks great! So excited.

Man, I just checked our local Craigslist--someone has a metal cabinet with 30 drawers (3 columns of 10 drawers), and they want $750!! That's nuts! Wonder if they will ever sell it for that?

They probably will to the right buyer. I bought something similar when our Courthouse sold old furniture, about 20 years ago. It held wills, and probate papers, and the drawers were 5 x 8, 5 across, and 24 rows and it had legs that raised the cabinet. It cost me $5, and I took it to an auto body shop and had it painted for $20, (although I had to remove and reattach the metal label holders and pulls). For a while it held wine (!) napkins, spices, serving pieces, etc in my kitchen, then later art/scrap supplies in my craft room. My DD wanted it, (she was heavily into Mid Century modern) and I moved it to Chicago while she was in grad school. She later moved it with her to LA for work, and when she headed back east for work, sold it to a dealer in LA for.........$1500.00! I can't imagine what he sold it for, but it paid for her move to NYC. There is always a buyer for these pieces.... I wish I had had the foresight to buy more of them.

This is my prized find - the vintage green forms cabinet. Each drawer is 9" x 12". It holds tons of scrappy stuff. 20180408_desk2 by Mikk Lynn, on Flickr DH found me one of those at a garage sale. I'm missing 5 drawers, but I love it. It does hold a lot.

papersilly and Skellinton, my dream find. Full catalogs like that would be closer to $1000 around here. I just can't spend it. We'd snag it up at $150.

I am being gifted my FIL’s old rolltop desk! I can’t WAIT to set it up as a craft desk! It will be so nice to be able to pull down the top to keep the cat and little toddler hands out of my half-done projects. It won’t fit my sewing machine, but I don’t sew every week so can make do.
I really love antiques and I’m fortunate to live very close to DOZENS of stores and markets. My decorating style is very minimal so I won’t fill my house with them (or anything lol) but when I’m looking for something, I try to find a vintage/antique piece instead of going to target.

My mom said I could have grandma's wood desk. It's not a rolltop, but I have many happy memories of playing at it. Enjoy your treasure!

They typically run for 1000-1500 around here too, if you can even find one. I was just insanely lucky, like win the lottery and struck by lightening lucky. Keep checking, you never know. I had been looking for years.

There is something special about using a loved one’s old desk. My mom has my g-grandpa’s desk and she uses it every day!
