Other than Target or Amazon? I’m looking for a 20lb blanket. Target has 15 and (hard to believe) I’m not a fan of Amazon. Also what brand did you buy? TIA
eta..how does it work if you don’t sleep alone? I can only image the grief I’ll hear from dh.

I bought one for DD for Christmas from Costco. Unfortunately, it’s going to be returned. All the beads (or sand) are in the bottom portion as the pockets broke in it. It was $100 for a 20lb.

Sorry, I got mine from Amazon. It contains glass beads (preferred) and the quality is excellent. I looked everywhere else and Amazon had the best for the best price. Weighted blanket

I also want to add that - since getting the weighted blanket - my sleep has dramatically improved. I fall asleep MUCH faster and have gone from 10 minutes or less of deep sleep a night to almost 2 hours. Longer REM sleep, too. (According to my sleep tracker.) I no longer get leg cramps in the middle of the night and my energy level during the day has greatly increased, too.
Can't say enough good things about sleeping with a weighted blanket. I wish I'd gotten one years ago.

Well, I got DH's and DD's off of Amazon. If you have a Walmart and don't mind shopping there, I saw the Sharper Image weighted blanket there. It is near the front of the store. I couldn't see a price anywhere and I only saw 15# blankets.
ETA: Online at WM the 15# is $129.99. They do have a 20# online and it is $149.88

I like mine but you have to be real careful about letting your pets underneath the blanket. I’ve got chihuahuas and if they got trapped they could get injured or die

And she sleeps in a warm room and still with her comforter that she has. I suspect all of that contribute to her warmth.

I got mine at Kohls, during the Thanksgiving weekend sales. I have the 12 pound tranquility weighted blanket. It is glass beads.
They have other brands that are heavier weights. If you have a Kohls card you could wait for a 30% coupon.

mom26 , that’s actually the one I’ve been looking at but fear having to return it to Amazon and not a brick and mortar. Do you find the beads stay in place? The reviews are so mixed on the various brands on different sites including the sharper image one. The one you listed on Amazon has the best and consistent reviews.

DH got his from Bed Bath & Beyond. It's a Sharper Image 20 pounder. He got it off the clearance shelf unopened in the box. $150 marked down to $75 and we used a 20% off coupon. I absolutely hate that blanket because it's impossible to fold. I just pile it in the chair and say "Folded"!

I had a custom blanket made for my daughter (7 lbs) and the craftsmanship is out of this world. I’m now contemplating having one made for myself as I don’t sleep well lately. It’s a bit pricey but the blankets are absolutely beautiful and so well made. You can choose your fabrics, as well! Check out Red Barn Blankets on Etsy.

The squares are about 4x4 and sewn very securely. All seams are very secure and well done. The beads are also very, very tiny. They don't move around much. I did read in the reviews that if you select different sizes/weights, be sure to note that the seller is still YnM. Some selections will change the seller to something like YandM. You want YnM. They have great customer service. As for returns to Amazon, I have found them to be the easiest to make returns to. Often, as soon as my shipping label is scanned, my refund is made before they even receive the item. I researched weighted blankets for a year before I decided on this one. I'd recommend it hands down to any others I've looked at.

Also I swing between 180-190 lbs. the 20lbs will be good, right? The rule of thumb is 10% of your weight. I'm in the 140s, so I got the 15 lb blanket. It's PERFECT for me. It's heavy to lug around, but once you're under it, it's amazing.

Just saw your ETA about how it works if not sleeping alone. It's not a problem, here. DH uses the regular blanket and I use my weighted blanket. There's a bit of scrunch where I push my side of our queen size comforter out of the way, but it hasn't been a problem.
And we're snuggler sleepers.
ETA: Whatever adjustment DH has had to make, he's more than happy to since better sleep has made a happier, more energetic me.

Thank you for posting about this. I get about 4 hours of sleep and one of these might help. I’ve spent all evening on Amazon looking at these.

This is one of the ones I’m looking at ! I would like pink over a gray one because of my bedroom colors. But in order to get some decent sleep, I would probably use an orange one !! 😊

I got a twin size 15 pound blanket from DS for Christmas. It was too big and heavy for me. DH ordered a kid size blanket (7 pounds) from Zulily. It's much better, but I still kick it off in the night. I roll over a lot in my sleep and the weight makes that difficult. I've yet to find the perfect bedding.

mom26 , You want YnM Thank you for that warning. Of course the 20lb one switched venders! But the 17 lb is the right one. I think I’m going to try that one.

But in order to get some decent sleep, I would probably use an orange one !! 😊 I would really recommend that you buy a cover for your weighted blanket. They are heavy and are awkward to wash. With a duvet cover, I would probably only wash the blanket once a year. Although some weighted blankets are not a standard size, so check your measurements. A good one should only cover your body and not hang off the edge of the bed. (That will put more weight on your body.) That will also keep it from ending up on the floor in the night.
