mom26 , that’s actually the one I’ve been looking at but fear having to return it to Amazon and not a brick and mortar. Do you find the beads stay in place? The reviews are so mixed on the various brands on different sites including the sharper image one. The one you listed on Amazon has the best and consistent reviews. I thought you could return Amazon things at Kohls now? Don't quote me on that.

Sorry, I got mine from Amazon. It contains glass beads (preferred) and the quality is excellent. I looked everywhere else and Amazon had the best for the best price. Weighted blanketI wanted to thank you for this recommendation, I received mine a few days ago and it is amazing. I had a weird reaction the first time I was under it. DH arranged it on me and I just started crying uncontrollably. Not in a bad way, I just felt so right. It was almost like a release of pressure I didn’t know I needed, very hard to explain. But I’ve slept with it for 3 nights and am thrilled with the purchase. I am hypomanic right now and have sleep issues. I never go to sleep immediately, it usually takes hours, and typically toss and turn all night. But the improvement is wonderful. I don’t feel all over restless and toss and turn like I usually do. I’m going to sleep a lot faster. And even in my state, I am sleeping about twice as long as I had been the previous nights. So thank you, again. Can’t wait to see how it does when I cycle down.

So, do you get hot under a weighted blanket? Can you use it even in the summer? And is it ok for a pet to be on top of one? I would like to try one but I wonder especially about getting too hot under one.

I would like to try one but I wonder especially about getting too hot under one. I am very sensitive to heat, we keep our house around 61*-64* year round. It is hotter upstairs, but I can’t imagine by more than 4 or 5 degrees. The first night with mine I was hot, but DH’s blanket was on me. The past two nights I sleep with a sheet, the weighted blanket linked above, and the cotton cover for it (not the minky ones). And it is perfect. Rereading what I wrote it seems like you would have to keep your house really cold for the blankets to not be too hot. That’s not what I mean at all. What I’m trying to say is that if I don’t get hot under it, I bet almost anyone else will be comfortable.

I am so happy that it's working so well for you, dewryce! I remember when I first got mine and tried it out, I was really struck with how immediately calming and relaxing it felt. It was pretty amazing and even more amazing is the vastly improved quality and quantity of my sleep. Seriously, it's been astounding. Who knew a blanket could make such a difference?

I would like to try one but I wonder especially about getting too hot under one. I am very hot-natured and do not get hot at all under my weighted blanket. I don't know if it's the glass beads that help it be thermal-regulating or something, but while I would always get hot under any and all other types of blankets, I stay perfectly comfortable under this one. FWIW, I'm in Florida. It's February and we're in the 80s. It's not a problem for pets to lay on top. It's basically a baffled blanket with very, very tiny glass beads mixed into the fiber filling.
