Went to my TM today to check out the EK Tools paper punches in today's (Sunday 2/24) ad. Got there about 1/2 hour after they opened and the punches were almost all gone, with not a lot left but odd random punches (octopus punch??? huh?). Figured out why when I turned around there was a lady with a cart with what looked like 30+ punches. UGH. She was asking if they were going to be going to be getting anymore in. The manager said to leave her name and they would call her when craft shipments arrived. I guessing that's why the sale items fly out the door, there are ebayers getting to things before they ever get to the shelves. I did get 2 punches, some cute Pink Paislee Washi Tape, and 2 packages of Cutter Bee dies - I've never seen this brand before and they look really cute. Also a package with a die and 6 clear stamps from a brand called "firefly" - another new to me brand. I was surprised to see the large end cap of WRMK still so full. It's bad enough to know they are out there, but to actually see a re-seller with a cart full in the very first hour would be infuriating. Ughhhh! I hope there are no re-sellers in my area. I am guessing those craft punches aren't going to be a great seller on eBay. You can get them at HL or Michaels for about 8-9 bucks when they are 50% off and don't have to pay for shipping. Punches aren't cheap to mail.

You're getting it for about half off, so you'd have to mark it up almost to normal prices, which kind of takes away the appeal. I guess if you recently discovered you love a certain designer, eBay would be a good place to search for it, but otherwise, I'd be curious to know how much people really sell.

The manger of one of my local stores said there is a woman in southern Denver who claims to have made a million off of reselling TM items. That sounds like a lot of work for small items. I think the people who are willing to pay for theses items are people who don't have access to a Tuesday Morning or they can't get out of the house easily.

I ended up with a good amount of stuff. I thought I was going to find a billion hamburgers, mr & mrs, octopus and other really random and likely to be rarely used (if ever) punches. I was totally shocked by the dies. They've had this brand before for $3.19 to $3.99 but I hadn't purchased any because I talked myself out of it. I arrived to my TM right as they were opening the doors and there was a crowd...didn't think many were there for crafts but several walked straight to that aisle. One of the ladies who knows me leaned over the register and told me where the stuff was stocked so I could walk down the aisle before and get there first, lol. Then when the ladies saw me there, they just stood there watching me shop. I told them there was PLENTY of room for them to fit. One lady grazed the area I hadn't gotten to and chatted me up, but seemed more focused on what I was grabbing than on shopping. When I finished looking where I was at and started looking at the other side, she took my spot by the punches. I didn't think I'd want much so I didn't get a cart...I cradled stuff in one arm as best as I could and then noticed on a peg where the lady had just been that there were a bunch of really big die sets. I unhooked them all and set them on top of the display so I could go through them with my one arm. The one lady then goes 'oh, what did you find' and came again to look over my shoulder at what I was rummaging through even though she had ample time to look through it all herself. In all her worry about what I was looking at, she missed all the good stuff.
I ended up finding a really nice alpha die and then a numbers set that went with it (it has 2 sets of numbers and punctuation...one in a size that matched the alpha and then a slightly smaller size but the same font so it will all mix well) as well as three nesting sets: circles, scallops (they don't really nest all that well with the circles, but that's okay) and a slightly rounded square set. There was also a set of 2 dies for making a gift box of some sort. That gift box set and the scallops were the only sets I'm 100% sure they got more than one of. Most of the punches I got were also singletons. I ended up with the double dot lace scallop that I've seen a lot of youtubers use and rave about (never have seen it in person), a punch anywhere scattered star (I have the MS hearts so I was happy to find the stars), a couple of border punches that I'm more likely to use the shapes from, the large star and a layered label punch (it was the only one not $4.99...but it seemed reasonable for just a dollar more).
For those wondering, based on the back of the die packaging, they are also EK Success/EK Tools. It looks like they branded the Cutter Bee to a die cutting machine and dies at some point (I've only ever seen that name for their small scissors). I wonder if maybe it was something that happened around the time they sold to AC (just a guess, I don't recall hearing before this thread that that had even happened) and the products fell under the radar. A friend of mine who picked up some of the cheaper/smaller die sets in prior weeks told me that the dies cut beautifully, so I'm excited to try them out!

I'm curious as to what day the TM stores close to you put out their new arrivals? At mine it tends to be the best shopping on Thursday morning. My friend who lives in a different state, says her best shopping day for TM tends to be Monday or Tuesday.
Do the stores get their deliveries different days, depending on the area?
Have you asked your store when they get the truck vs. when they typically have everything put on the shelves?

I think her stuff is pretty but I never seem to use much of it so I've stopped buying. I also loath the giant ephemera packs. I wish they would all knock that off. I have started added some to gifts as pretty decoration on presents just to get it out of my stash. Only a tiny bit of the giant ephemera has ever made it in my album. I bought the pack because of the giraffe! I have years and years of zoo pics of my guys feeding giraffes. The other stuff in it like the titles were also a bonus. Now the weird see-through flowers, not so much. Were your pictures from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo? Do you know what Colorado store the ebayer frequents? I'm bummed that the TM I would frequent often (Arapahoe and I-25) closed and the margarita restaurant closed nearby that location, too. No margaritas for me- HA!

Yes, once they built the giraffe enclosure, the giraffes started becoming much more friendly rather than being separated more in the old pen. Have you been to the TM on East Briarwood Circle (next to the Gap)? It is new(ish) and their scrapbook selection was overflowing the last time I was there. And yes, always sad when we lose a tequila restaurant. We hit Rudy's and The Loop if we want great margaritas here.

I just found out that although the two stores I frequent get deliveries on Tuesday they arrive far enough apart that store #1 stocks the craft aisle by store opening while #2 gets the goods out by 3:00. The first store never uploads their shipment inventory to the product finder, store #2 manager uploads it within the 5 hour timeframe that they are suppose to have everything on the floor for sale.
I missed the sale Sunday, was the usale flyer in the mail or online? I didn’t receive either.

I went to mine today and they had a 12x12 paper pack of MME Girl Meets Glam, which I scooped up. They also had different variety packs of MME My Colors cardstock. Then they had washi tape sets from different MH lines, lots of MH acrylic stamp sets and lots of MH ephemera, plus a ton of new Darice embossing folders and WRMK page protectors.

Went to my regular store but they just finished doing inventory and hadn’t even unpacked Tuesdays shipment. Went to another store and found quite a bit. I bought several die sets, a stamp set and some Noteworthy packs. I’m trying to not purchase anymore paper.

I hadn't gone in a while (was trying to stay away), but got sucked into looking through EACH and EVERY hanging hook... found a few things I couldn't resist: -- small Spellbinders small die set (swallow, heart, teeny flowers and a teenier banner) (I almost bought a teeny Spellbinders die set that was a circus tent, flag, and string of pennants- just because that teeny flag is so darn cute!) -- a Darice wood-grain embossing folder (it looks like they finally got all the Darice embossing folder inventory from JoAnns, now that J's switched to a different in-house brand ??) -- a set of the AC fine glitter (I think someone here mentioned using glitter to make their own embellishments, like glitter paint, etc.? I need to find that post) -- the EK success double-heart punch (it was the last one- they had tons of weird shapes left-- who WOULD want an octopus punch, anyway?!?) -- a card set that came with cards, envelopes, and 2-3 sheets of stencils (I want a couple of the stencils to use on SB pages)
They have soooo many of those weird WRMK punch board tools in the stores around me!! What I really want to know is, who at WRMK did the test marketing and determined there was a MARKET for these odd, one-purpose tools?!? I mean, really-- Who actually NEEDS a TOOL to trace and cut a half-a-pineapple shape, so you could make your own honeycomb-paper party embellishment? If I WAS even going to do something like that, I could trace a half-pineapple MYSELF, without needing a template to do it!!
I did my usual TM thing, which is to load up my cart then waffle and haggle in my head over what's most *useful* (yeah, right) to me, or what I will/won't use... then I set things down that I decide I don't "need" and dither about it so long my DH wonders where the heck I am, at which point I make some snap decisions and check out- not remembering exactly why I chose what I did, or why I decided against what I left behind.

I went by my store for my usual placemat and soap dish scouting trip. Still no luck. After reading the threads about punches I checked and was surprised to find a bunch of them on an end cap. I guess they weren’t a big seller. I think 950nancy is right about punches being expensive to ship. The craft section had loads of Bo Bunny stamps and embellishments, Project Life kits, and planner stickers. There wasn’t much Maggie Holmes stuff but there were a lot of her small stamp sets. stamps. I caved and bought 2. No punches though. For those of you who bought the punch around the page stars punch: I had the Martha Stewart version. That thing was aweful to use. It required so much force I actually had to put the paper on the floor and step on the punch. It wasn’t just me—a lot of people posted the same issue. Since EK made the Martha tools I’m just wondering if this one is better. If you have good luck with this one I might give it a shot.

Since EK made the Martha tools I’m just wondering if this one is better. If you have good luck with this one I might give it a shot. All I did was test out the punch when I took it out of the box last night so maybe with time it doesn't work as well, who knows, but I had no problems with the scattered star punch. It didn't require earth shattering strength to punch, although it would probably have been easier to punch straight down while standing (I was sitting). I also turned the base around in all directions to see if there would be a way to accidentally get it in the wrong orientation and you can't...the magnets only attract when aligned properly (in the other 3 ways, 2 attract and 2 resist). I tested it after not enjoying the layered tab punch to make sure I didn't waste a ton of money, lol. That one is easy to punch, but it doesn't like to open back up to give you the paper or the punch out.
I do wonder if AC's acquisition will impact the punch quality going forward, especially given that EK is the company that produces the Stampin' Up punches. In terms of WRMK, their album quality (and ability to access them) dropped significantly in spite of the claim they wouldn't change anything about the albums, but WRMK's power punches based on the tech from their original popular tool, the crop-a-dile, have continued to be great tools. The 3x4 photo punch appeared to be them trying out new punch technology and that failed miserably...here's hoping in that particular case, AC learned their lesson not to mess with what works.

I really liked that stars punch but it was difficult from the get go. Unfortunately if only got worse. I noticed the EK one is a little smaller than their MS one was so maybe it’s easier to use. I might try again if they have any left next week.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on those Maggie Holmes stamps. I just stamped them out and the images aren’t too sharp. Maybe it’s because I’m used to better quality stamps—Hero Arts, Altenew, Lawn Fawn, etc. The MH ones look a little fuzzy in comparison. However, the Bo Bunny stamps are nice. I got the butterfly set a while back and they look great.

I already own the octopus hole punch that everyone is throwing shade at. I love it. I've only used it a couple of times but it makes me smile every single time. The only hole punch I love more is my deer head. I went to Tuesday Morning yesterday and bought a bunch of punches. I bought 2 sizes of scalloped circles, 2 sizes of flowers, and a butterfly. I bought two different large snowflakes (which will be very useful), the reindeer, and the Christmas tree. I did not buy the hamburger I didn't buy the eyes, either, but I might go back. I thought about the skull and crossbones, too, but it was kind of cutesy and I like more realistic. I forgot to buy the sticky dots. I bought some a month ago and I really love them, so I need to go back and stock up. They had a lot of neat Maggie Holmes stuff, which is really pretty, but I have a ton of Maggie Holmes stuff already and I never use it. It is really girly and I don't get many opportunities to make girly layouts. I did find some gold glitter foam thickers, which is a real score.
