linkReuters... “Commerce's Ross insists census citizenship question supports Voting Rights Act”From the article.. “WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross insisted on Thursday that the plan by the Republican Trump administration to revive a citizenship question on the 2020 census was aimed at bolstering the Voting Rights Act, prompting ridicule from Democrats. Critics of the move, now under review by the U.S. Supreme Court, believe including the question will scare immigrants and Latinos into abstaining from the decennial survey, disproportionately under-counting Democratic-leaning states. Ross testified to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that gathering accurate data on U.S. citizens outweighed any potential reduction in response rates.”Obtaining complete and accurate information for use in determining citizen age voting populations to enforce the Voting Rights Act is a legitimate government purpose," he said in written comments submitted beforehand. "I determined that the importance of that goal outweighed any potential decrease in self-response rates that may result from people violating their legal duty to respond to the decennial census," he said. His assertions were mocked by the majority Democrats on the committee, including chairman Elijah Cummings. "I do not know anyone who believes that the Trump administration is interested in enhancing the Voting Rights Act," Cummings said, adding: "The administration has done everything in its power to suppress the vote." A federal judge blocked the question in January and the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments next month and rule by the end of June. Eighteen states, 15 cities and various civil rights groups are plaintiffs in the case. Time is of the essence, as the official census forms are due to be printed in the coming months.” I’m just curious how it is going to be more accurate with a much smaller response rate in those communities with a lot of immigrants. In other words, how does less data = more accurate?

What was the interference in the primaries that allowed trump to become the Republican nominee? I was not aware there was any. Russian propaganda efforts started in 2015 IIRC. Let me see if I can find the indictment, it has details. I have no doubt it started in 2015. But the question is, who was the target and why. I want to say the Russians messed with the Bernie Bros, suggesting the primaries were rigged against Bernie. But what people ignore is how a primary was to be run was set-up by the individual states and long before Sanders decided to run. Hillary did receive 3M votes more than Bernie so I don’t see how the Superdelegates played a big part in the nominee process at the end.

Senate 59-41 vote down presidents National Emergency..... 12 gop went with Dems. overturning this will probably be Trump's first veto, then... if he does veto it, what can Congress do about the National Emergency declaration?? They can override the veto. But as of right now they don’t have the votes, they need 2/3 in both House and Senate.

Because dt and crew do not want to give any non citizen anything... which punishes all of us including legal resident aliens, green card holders. Towns and states will continue to fund schools etc with less $$$. Hositals and roads and everything!

So yes, the Russians were interfering in the primaries in support of Trump.

linkThis is the link for the New Democrat Coalition website. I have already posted what they had to say about challenges facing the American Worker. Other issues on their site they have identified and offered solutions include infrastructure, ACA, & housing. IMO, solutions that the Democrats can run on and win. Its worth a look. IMO.

You can tell I’m impressed with these guys... From their paper on the cost of housing...
”In the absence of sufficient housing, Americans respond in two ways:
1. They delay forming new households by living with their parents or doubling or tripling up with roommates.
2. They also more aggressively pursue the housing that is available. Vacancy rates drop, homes for sale get multiple offers, and the price of everything rises.
Bingo!
It was noted that the average cost to rent a one bedroom apartment in San Francisco has now hit $3,500 or $3,600 a month, I forget which amount. Regardless, how many people can pay that in rent or a mortgage? And it’s like the ripple affect of throwing a pebble in the pond in that all home prices and rents in the areas around SF have gone up in the same manner.

Steven Dennis... ”SCHUMER on the floor seeking backing for the resolution on a public Mueller report which passed the House 420-0. “LINDSEY GRAHAM in statement OPPOSES resolution calling for public release of the Mueller report UNLESS IT ALSO CALLS FOR A NEW SPECIAL COUNSEL to investigate DOJ handling of HILLARY CLINTON EMAILS and CARTER PAGE FISA warrant. !!!” trump is president, Hillary and Carter Page are not. The American People have the right to know if the idiot in the White House is a crook or not. No conditions should be applied to that one simple fact of the American People knowing the truth.

linkFrom The New York Times... “Tech Firm in Steele Dossier May Have Been Used by Russian Spies”From the article.. ”WASHINGTON — Aleksej Gubarev is a Russian technology entrepreneur who runs companies in Europe and the United States that provide cut-rate internet service. But he is best known for his appearance in 2016 in a dossier that purported to detail Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election — and the Trump campaign’s complicity. Mr. Gubarev’s companies, the dossier claimed, used “botnets and porn traffic to transmit viruses, plant bugs, steal data and conduct ‘altering operations’ against the Democratic Party leadership.” On Thursday, new evidence emerged that indicated that internet service providers owned by Mr. Gubarev appear to have been used to do just that: A report by a former F.B.I. cyberexpert unsealed in a federal court in Miami found evidence that suggests Russian agents used networks operated by Mr. Gubarev to start their hacking operation during the 2016 presidential campaign. His networks also appear to have been regularly used by cybercriminals and Russian agents to conduct other attacks, such as an assault on Ukraine’s power grid in 2015, the report found. Yet the report stops short of directly linking Mr. Gubarev or his executives to the hacking, as asserted in the dossier. As Anthony Ferrante, the report’s lead author and a former F.B.I. agent, noted in a deposition: “I have no evidence of them actually sitting behind a keyboard.” Mr. Gubarev has insisted that neither he nor his businesses knowingly took part in the Russian hacking. He backed up his denials by filing a defamation lawsuit against BuzzFeed, the first news organization to publish the dossier, which became public in January 2017. The report unsealed Thursday was commissioned by BuzzFeed to fend off Mr. Gubarev’s suit, which was dismissed in December when the court found BuzzFeed’s decision to publish protected under the law.”

Wether or not the super Delagates played a part in it not doesn’t matter Bernie signed on voluntarily to run as a DEMOCRAT and thier delagate/super delegate policy was not new, not secret & not special against him. If he had an issue with the super delegates he should have run as something other than a democrat. How the democratic convention works is no secret, they have predetermined rules. Don’t like them, don’t run as a democrat. End of story

I don't know who, but I think several have filed law suits which could end up in the Supreme Court.

James Comey.....
”Republican senators, who are sacrificing core principles, are likely telling themselves: “The country needs me; I have to do this or I will lose in a primary.” No, the country needs you to have enough integrity to risk losing your job for what is right.”

James Comey..... ”Republican senators, who are sacrificing core principles, are likely telling themselves: “The country needs me; I have to do this or I will lose in a primary.” No, the country needs you to have enough integrity to risk losing your job for what is right.” Exactly. The people who voted for you, and the people you represent, expect you to do the right thing now, in the current term you were elected for. You are a public servant and don’t get to defer doing the right thing for a later date that is more convenient for your career.

I would hope that doing the right thing would mean that they would have a better chance of being the-elected, not less.

I would hope that doing the right thing would mean that they would have a better chance of being the-elected, not less. You would think. But in parts of the country where people identify as Trump supporters more than as Americans, going against him will cost them.

Yeah, I'm sure if a Muslim terrorist had shot up 2 evangelical churches, Trump would forebear to mention his name or use the footage to incite.
