I have brads. Lots of brads. They were one of my favorite things to collect and use when I first started scrapping. I have many of them that match paper lines and most of them I kept in a plastic containers with dividers. I watched a Love RTS Youtube video and saw the poster have them all on white card stock. I liked that she could see what she had and thought that I should do that with some of my favorites. I just don't use them like I would like to use them and hope this would encourage me to put them on my layouts. I always seem to find good ones after I have put the layouts in my books. This took me about two days to create a few templates for the different sizes and put them on the cards. I also put washi tape on the top of the card so I could find different colors or themes faster. I have about 50 cards now. I kept the brads that are plain and all the same colors in the plastic container, but my fun, sparkly brads (that don't match a paper line) all have a new home.

This is such a great idea...using the washi tape for reference is brilliant!

I thought this was a thread on BAD organisation lol
I like your Brad storage, but what if you have hundreds of one style/colour/size - do you put them all on one card, or some on the card and stores surplus elsewhere?

That's a pretty cool way to organise them. I store all mine by colour in little containers but am terrible about actually pulling them out and using so I'll be interested to see if this gets you using them more often.

I have probably 100 of several colors in just one size and they are in the Iris container. I figure I can remember I have those.

That looks beautiful!
I don't use brads in my books anymore, just cards or more often, on my kids' school projects.
Thankfully I didn't overbuy before I realized I didn't like metal in my albums, so I'm able to just have them all in one small six spaced container.

I am trying to imagine what that would look like but I can't see your photos.
I don't have a lot of brads anymore but I used to have tons and tons. I loved them!

Almost all of mine are solid colors—left over from the days when they first got popular as a replacement for eyelets. You have some really nice ones in your picture. Where do you get them, as I rarely see them any more?

Where do you get them, as I rarely see them any more? There is a wholesale craft business in my city. Have known the owner since the 80's. Her place is called Creative Impressions. I love to just go in there and wander. It is the size of a grocery store. Over the years she has had a lot of different brads (and everything else). I have also found some really cute ones at the Scrapbook Expo that comes once a year. I always buy 5-6 packs because you never know when you are going to need a seagull brad.

I recently changed mine over to these - I'm the type that if I don't see my stuff I don't use it. These are working well for me IMG_2474 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr

I love this idea. Especially how you can see each one instead of them all getting lost in a little bin. Did you use a single sheet of cardstock for each one?

ForbiddenSnacks! Love how those look. Organization is a pain in the rear, but once it's done makes things so much more appealing. Bravo! gramma - if you have a lot of brads, a reference card might help? Put one of each on it so you'll be able to see what you've got easily, and then put that somewhere in eyesight where you craft. Agree it really does help when you can see what you've got, 'out of sight, out of mind'!

The organization geek in me is SUPER impressed by this! Nice!! I saw it on YouTube and thought, yeah, right, who does that? Then I thought I would just do it for my favorite brads and it turned into a bit of an obsession for 48 hours. I still have a full divided container full of plain brads, but wanted to remind myself to use the fun ones.

Epoxy brads used to be my weakness, until I couldn't find them anymore. I have mine in a kids size shoebox still in collection packs (minus the plastic) and try to pull them out for lots of pages. Lately I have been snipping the backs off and just gluing them down, more like the sticky back version SS made for a while (those were the BEST!!!)
I bet organizing by color would be a great way to use them, keep us posted on how it works for you!
ETA: Oh, and I still have a ton of the smaller colored brads from back in the day. Covered with glossy accents they do look like enamel dots. But I still don't use them enough. And let's not talk about the eyelets keeping them company.. 😬

Oh, that's nice! I have a bunch of the bigger decorative brads but I just keep them in the original packaging.
