My grandmother said to not buy stew meat as it’s usually not a good type/grade of meat. She taught us to just take round steak and cute it into stew chunks ourself I also rarely cook chicken breast just themselves since they tend to be dry. I like to cook thighs and breasts together when possible:) I have never had trouble with buying stew meat, but I buy it from our butcher. I can ask where it comes from, and itss perfect. Esp in the crockpot when allowed to get tender. It has plenty of fat, and nice and tender. In fact we have had these sirloin tips AKA stew meat with gravy for the last 2 nights. One night with mashed potatoes, tonight over noodles.

What do you recommend I should cook the chicken in instead of a non-stick pan? I have an electric skillet, but maybe that's very similar to non-stick pan. Do you think an iron frying pan would be better? Or maybe cooking it in the oven?
I just get so frustrated because my family always complains that my dinners aren't good. I think that's why I hate cooking! I spend so much time trying to follow a recipe, watch the video and cook a nice dinner, and then they eat it and don't comment, even when they know that I have been in the kitchen for a long time. I feel very taken for granted, and it feels good to vent here! That would be really frustrating, feel free to vent away. People can really take advantage of other's cooking for them. It's a lot of work and not everyone enjoys it. It's ok to not love cooking, it's not ok for those reaping the benefits of not cooking to be rude to the person that does cook!
If I were you I'd try to do some outdoor grilling or roast things in the oven. Those are my two preferred methods of cooking. I quite rarely pan fry anything.

I really wanted to be able to roast a whole chicken. I ruined so many chickens. Trying to do it. One day I came across an episode of Anthony Bourdaines where he and his chef friends teach basic cooking skills. There is a December with Thomas Keller where he teaches you how to do a simple roast chicken. I tried it out and it came out PERFECTLY!!!! I makeut often, and I follow the recipe almost exactly. I do like to rub my chicken in softenened butter, and slip some oats of butter under the chicken skin and inside the body cavity. I also will put smashed garlic under the skin, inside, and in the creases of the wings and legs, and I HEAVILY season with Italian seasoning mix. It tastes DIVINE every single time. Here is the video! (Hope this works!) youtu.be/EWLt6G85zC4

It’s supposed to say pats of butter, not oats. Do not put oats under the skin of your chicken! 😂

Thank you! And I don't care if they make suggestions on how to improve the recipe. It's just I always ask my husband how dinner is and he just says "fine". Yet if we go to his family members to eat, he raves! And I don't think what they make is any better or worse than mine. So yes, I despise cooking! But I have always enjoyed cooking for my friends as they always compliment my cooking. And my best friend's daughter always asks me to send her cookies! Thanks for letting me vent!

I try to not use so much to make it healthier, but I think I will start using more butter to make it good. I am getting tired of the healthy meals and the family doesn't seem to enjoy them as much! I love having videos to watch so I can make sure I am making it correctly.
