I opened the software this morning to work on something and a bunch of my designs have an icon that says Downloaded Failed. When I hit the link to retry, it still fails. I've logged out and logged back in, restarted the software and I still get the same message. Has anyone had this happen and how do you fix it?

Which version are you using streetscrapper? The release notes for 4.2.252 talk about a ‘download failed’ error which was apparently fixed. www.silhouetteamerica.com/software/release-notes/671 - Files that are set to local only and then reverted to an online state will no longer display ‘Download Failed’ I’ve just gone from 4.1 to 4.279 and it seems pretty stable.

Thanks anniefb. I’m using the current version of the software and I didn’t realize it was an issue that was “fixed”. Maybe I should reinstall... I’ve been having all kinds of issues with this latest version... uggg ... just wanted to spend the day scrapping without software problems...

Have you contacted their chat support? If not, I recommend that you do.

Have you contacted their chat support? If not, I recommend that you do. Not about this issue. I spent two days last week with them, once on a chat and when they couldn't figure out what the problem was, we had a call. I thought the call fixed the whole library problem but now I've got this! I did have a back up so I tried to import the library to see if that would fix the issue and now I've got blank files that the program won't open. I'm just trying to reinstall the software to see if that will fix it. If not, I'll try a chat.

I've been really pleased to see the latest version has fixed a weird glitch that I had with 4.1 where I could only save files as regular cut and the drop down menu for other file types just wouldn't work. Silhouette support tried to help me with the issue a while back but what they suggested never worked.

I am seeing a lot of Download Failed on my files in my Library.
It is handy to have files in the Library, but don't rely on it!
I always keep all my own user files saved outside the Library. I have them in the Library for ease of use, but after several failures, I know it is not going to be a reliable place to store them, either in the Local User or in the Cloud.

I have had the Download Failed message once or twice, but it resolved itself soon after. I did update the software. After updating, to go to the store, it always does so by obviously opening my browser now, when then opens their web site. Before I updated the software, it was somehow going online without directly or separately opening Firefox (which is the web browser I use). I can't swear to it, but I think the issues I had were when I downloaded through the software rather than opening Firefox and going online to their site. When doing it through the software (before updating), I started getting a message saying that I should go to their site instead of download through the software. After updating, when I click on the "store" tab at the top of the software screen, it opens Firefox and goes to their website. It is a definite difference. I don't think I have had any Download Failed issues since that change.
I always save the files that I download to my hard drive. When downloading online from their site, it gives you an option to save, or to open the download file. After I download the files, I always move them to a specific folder on my hard drive. The software automatically saves them to the Recent Downloads folder my library, without my doing anything, but by downloading and saving a separate copy to my hard drive, I always have a back up of the files I buy, independent of the Cloud. Then from time to time, I back up those files to multiple external hard drives as well.
Having my files on the Cloud is useful, but I don't trust it to be the only place my files are stored.
