No idea, but I suggest you watch for sales. There will be one prior to Mother's Day if you are willing to wait that long, but there could be one sooner than that. There was one recently. It might still be going on at the Silhouette site, but I'm not sure.

I have heard just a small whisper of possibly something new coming out. But then radio silence after that. It was one of the bloggers that goes to all the Silhouette conferences, but now I can't remember if it was Silhouette School or someone else. But it seems to be gone, so they might have shut down the talk of it. Or there might not be anything new getting released..
The last new machine was the 3D printer, the Silhouette Alta.
I still have the original Cameo. Nothing with the new Cameo 3 makes me what to buy it - my old Cameo can do all the same things.
If something new is going to be released - it will probably be quite a while yet.

I forgot to mention that as far as capability, the Cameo will allow you to do more than the Portrait. My first electronic cutter was the old blue Wishblade, which was the same size as the Portrait (essentially the same machine, but with slightly different software). The Portrait is limited to the 8.5 inch width cutting mat. The Cameo has a 12 inch width, which allows you to cut more at a time, and also cut larger projects. That's nice for a lot of things. I have and use the Cameo 2, which I love. I would never want to go back to a smaller width machine.

I didn't sign into their site, but it looks like they are back in stock. I already have a Cameo but that is a really good price.

For me the portrait is the right size. It fits on a shelf near my computer and the size is large enough to cut anything I have wanted to cut. I have had it about five years. Now, I don't really make 3D things like baskets and boxes and I can't make a full 12x12 screen. But for me, the much smaller footprint of the portrait is primary -- I have so many things connected to my computer I am already surrounded (scanner, large format printer, hard drive, card reader, portrait, etc.)

I got a Portrait 2 because I already have a Cricut Explore Air. I love that the Portrait can cut out all of my stamped images. That's why I wanted it, and I'm very happy with the size for my needs.
