My new iPhone 6+ arrived yesterday afternoon. Swoon! We had high school football last night and my son wanted to go, so I brought him and my new phone.
During lulls in the play, I was playing with the phone and came over here to read and post some. And that is when I discovered one of my favorite features: The keyboard in landscape mode has two new buttons. They are arrows that allow you to move the cursor backward or forward to a specific spot in the text you are typing!
I type on my iPad and phone a lot and have always been frustrated by how hard it is to correct a word when you realize you've made a typo somewhere up in your text. Trying to touch the exact spot you need the cursor to land is a challenge for me, at best. I usually end up zooming in, making the text large, and then tapping the screen, and then shrinking it again.
No need to do that on my new phone anymore. I have my cursor keys now. My husband, who is waiting for his phone to ship, is jealous. I can't wait until they bring the cursor keys to the iPad, where I type most often (like right now).
What at is your favorite new feature of the iPhone 6 or 6+?

I just love the way my 6 feels in my hand. It is so pleasant to hold and use. I loved my 5S and was REALLY not sure about the larger size, but the beauty of the 6 is that although it IS larger it doesn't FEEL like it is. It's so light and thin!

I just looked at and held a 6 while I was out today and compared it to my 5S. It did feel nice. I didn't see a 6+, but I'm not really interested in anything that big. But I could see myself with the 6 when upgrade time comes along (which isn't for at least another year anyway). Enjoy your new tech!

I know this is about the 6, but I have a 5s and didn't know until just recently that you can hold down your finger inside text you are typing and a little magnifying glass comes up that you can drag around to put the cursor where you want it to go. Maybe this will help someone else...I wish I had learned this trick 3 years ago!
ETA: I'm still torn on the 6/6+. I KNOW I don't want the bigger one, but even the 6 seems too big to me. I think Apple has reached my limit, size wise.

I didn't have the iPhone 5S, so I'm greatly enjoying the fingerprint access instead of having to type in my access code all the time. It works remarkably well.

I only discovered this about a year ago, too. Just tap and hold, then drag to where you want to edit your typing. The greatest thing about my 6+ will be if it arrives anytime soon. Still on order. Have the case. Just waiting for the phone.

It is amazing how thin and light they are. My neighbor's husband who was also at the football game decided he wants one, even though he swore he wouldn't because of the size. When he actually held it and put it in his pocket - even with a case on it - it fit nicely and seems lighter than my 5 was.

And I love that you don't even have to swipe your screen when it is sleeping, just hold your thumb on the hold button and your desktop comes up.

I upgraded from 4s to 6, and I am finding it so much easier to text now with the keyboard being just a little bigger. That and the touch ID are my favorite features. I am completely used to the size and don't know how I got by with such a tiny little phone before.

I have to wait until Feb for my new phone. I plan on getting the 6+. It may be just big enough to satisfy my tablet need.

The coolest thing about the 6 plus is everything. I worship my phone. I pick up my 5 and think oh my how tiny. How did I ever see anything. I love iOS 8 and predictive typing. I use SwiftKey. It's so neat. The more I type, the more it knows what I'm going to say.
This phone is truly a thing of beauty. Even when I'm watching TV, I just hold it and caress it and yes I'm certifiably a geek.

I love my 6 plus as well. It arrived yesterday. I like the size because I can read it without my glasses! I like how everything is bigger, the clear screen is awesome, and especially the Touch ID (i upgraded from the 5). Played with it a little bit yesterday after I got it set up. And mine came with several Apple apps that I'd been wanting to try like iMovie, Pages, Garage Band (and don't remember the others) Do we get them for free?
I am having one problem with it though, I had all my stuff from my previous phone on iCloud. I can see my contacts, music, apps, pictures, etc However, it says it is still restoring from iCloud and will not let me install iOS8.

Worst thing about the 6 - it uses a smaller SIM than the 4s which I'm upgrading from, and I didn't know. My 6 arrived yesterday - but I can't do a thing with it until I get my new SIM sometime next week!

I got mine a few days ago and I just had to restore and then update to iOS 8.0.1 It won't install the update until you are through restoring. I guess it is too busy to fool with updating when it has so much other stuff to do. The Apple Apps that came with your phonr are free.

It stinks to have to wait to use your new baby.

In other countries, not sure about Europe but in Australia you can just buy a phone, go to the store of your choice for service provider and they will put a SIM card in for you and set it up for your account. There's none of the having to buy a specific phone for a particular provider

In addition to what lovetodigi said about the iOS, you must be connected to WiFi in order for the phone to restore all your stuff. Mine somehow lost that connection and I had to go back in to Settings and reset it to use WiFi in order for mine to finish restoring. You might want to double check.

Thank you lovvetodigi and BeckyTech. I meant upgrade to 8.2. I could not update some of the apps until that was installed. Some of my music on my phone was from my husbands account, and it would not finish restoring until I put in his password. Restore finally finished after entering his password. Now my phone is completely usable and am in love with it. My dh decided it was too big (I think he is just impatient) and cancelled his order and is going to get the 6. I think he just wants his now!! I am in heaven with mine

I think those are taking longer because it was the only option if you wanted the black front; while there were 2 options for the white front. just curious.

He is extremely jealous. He won't even play with mine because it will make the wait even harder. LOL! For whatever reason, they are taking longer to manufacture enough of those space gray ones. My husband had been hoping he'd get it earlier than the estimated date, like we did, but now, with the release in China this next week he's resigned to waiting the full time.

I let him use mine about an hour on Friday night. He liked it, but I don't think he wants to wait. On Saturday he cancelled his order and said that he will probably regret it. We are going today to the Apple store to see if they have a 6 in stock for him. All because he cannot wait. He just had to wait another 2 weeks. I was resigned to waiting, but now that I have it, I am having a ball with it, it is so purty!

If you will so online to the Apple Store several times a day and put in what you are looking for, just like you are placing an order, you will be able to check and see if they have it in store for pick up. Once you find it in store, complete your order and you should be able to pick it up within an hour or so. That is what I did. They had it at several places around here, but I waited until it was at my Apple Store, placed my order and picked it up. It saves a lot of trips to the mall and keeps you from having to wait in line. Your phone will be waiting for you. Loving my 6 Plus. So glad that I returned my 6 for the Plus.

Some Targets don't have phones for all cell companies, so you might check and see which ones your local store can set up. AT&T said that they will not have any 6 Pluses in their stores until all of the back orders have cleared out.
