Tonight I am having duck fried rice and my dad is having rechauffe duck another way. He has to give up rice. He can’t swallow it without difficulty. I am honestly sick of vegetables. I have variety so that’s not the problem. In the fridge I still have broccoli, asparagus, avocados, and baby spinach. I am doing the best I can with making them. We have at least 3 a night. I don’t like salad so I give up on it. I roast root vegetables often and enjoy them. I will think of something. We haven’t had tomatoes in a long time and I think will roast some for a change.

I'm craving something kind of light so I will probably make myself a charcuterie platter. I have some bleu cheese stuffed olives, toscana soaked in syrah, dill havarti, bosc pear, red grapes, pita, carrot sticks and hummus. Oooh and a fresh bottle of riesling. 👍🧀🍠🍾🍇🍐

It will be potpie tonight. I'm really looking forward to it. Potpie is such a comfort food for me. It's a really boring Tuesday here at work. I have about four things to do which will take me about an hour and then a mountain of filing. I need a secretary!

I left work early after 4hours of coughing. I wish my family wasn’t so good at sharing germs. Dinner is rechauffe roast chicken with all of the sides. I should make soup but don’t have that much energy.

I didn't want to bump yesterday's thread, but wanted to welcome silverlining to the dinner table any time. You will find that there are a few of us that don't like cooking much, hate the planning and detest the shopping for dinner. Anytime I don't have to cook is a great day. Tonight is sloppy Joe's for us. Hope you feel better quick KelleeM! What a birthday gift from the family.

Dd has a softball game, and I’m trying to avoid eating fast food 3-4 nights a week for weight and wallet issues, but the best I’ve come up with for tonight is make your own hoagies. I need to spend some time on Pinterest!

KelleeM, I vote for no cooking tonight and for you to just rest. Feel better quickly. PolarGreen12, you are a cookbook author in the making. You always make such delicious sounding meals.

Since we ended up just having leftover corned beef + usual sides last night (duhh), tonight will be leftover chicken, I guess ... it needs using. Split pea soup tomorrow? Feel better, KelleeM.

You are all going to die laughing, but instead of going to Fogo de Chao last night for DH's birthday (he originally expected to be downtown and we were going to join him, so when he had a rare day in the office he didn't want to drive), he chose to go to a Asian buffet restaurant. Not quite as high end. I'm trying to decide between lasagne and spaghetti with meatballs for tonight. ETA sueg, I've been meaning to ask about your BIL. Any idea when he will be coming home?

I'm either going to have eggs and bacon or baked chicken legs.
If I go with the chicken I will have to go to the store. I don't know if I feel like going to the store. Such problems I face!
KelleeM well, that's a real crummy birthday present!

Oh, I wanted to share this with you all too. I made some Asiago bread over the weekend.... using a ball of storebought pizza dough. It was so easy. The house at one point smelled like feet, but it tasted soooo good. You could really put anything you wanted on top. So easy. Easy Asiago Bread

Happy Tuesday Everybody!

I'm hoping my sis and bro-in-law will be in town tonight, and we will have dinner out.
If not, it will be rechauffe.

bc2ca lasagna is better than spaghetti JoP how do you possibly have 4 packages of bacon in the freezer? No way that bacon would have survived in my house. And now that you mention it, a bacon sandwich does sound good.

I really have no idea AND I need to go to the grocery, so I'm guessing we'll eat out. It's been a hectic several days at our house. I'm ready for a break in our schedules.

As is so often the case, I want to be at PolarGreen12 house for dinner. Especially when I think about dinner here tonight. DH is having stomach issues again, so he is having white rice. How fun! I think I'll make myself a smoothie since I have none of Andrea's excellent dinner ingredients on hand.
