Because who doesn't want to wake up with a photo of Warren Jeffs staring at them?
I thought the listing price seemed quite low for the area. Now I know why. Check out the master closet and the photo bombs of the sister wives.

What is the weird stairway to nowhere? Or is the shelter?

Their realtor should have advised them to take down all "family" photos. I do love the mirror photo bombs although just opening the master closet would have been a give away for me.

So disgusting. There's a room with 7 large photos-all men. I didn't see any photos of women or children. I wonder how all the daughters feel about that. No surprise it's been listed for more than a year.

THe notes says it is a rental. So they probably did take down a lot of personal stuff. But taking that one down would be pretty close to giving up their religion.

All that space, and they cram 2 bunk beds into one room. That is one heck of a food mixer.
The photobombing woman's hairstyle and prairie dress are a clue as to why there are pictures of paedophile Warren Jeffs around the place. I'm guessing that this house will only appeal to a specific cross section of the community.

I wonder if the photos of Jeffs and the wives were subtle (or not so subtle, really) ways to advertise the fact that they're polygamist friendly?
That mixer, though. I want it.

I was wondering about the appearance of two kitchens too. If it is a large family, I understand the need for two fridges. The rooms with chairs all around makes me think this is a homeschooling quiverfull-type Mormon family. It looks like a drab house but the little odd details leave me feeling icky.

Slight spin off but I have a serious question. It seems like women in that branch of Mormonism always have the exact same hairstyle. Is it a particular religious requirement? I know some religions require women to keep their hair bound or covered, but why does it seem like its always that weird bump in the front with the loose bun thing in the back?

Being they have pictures of Warren Jeffs, I am thinking more along the lines of a Polygamist family, which would explain two kitchens, but the listing doesn't mention two, so that makes me wonder. The basement "living area" looks like it does double as a school room and sunday worship room. Just going off of tv, (LOL) many polygamist families set up their living area with chairs, kids in a circle and hold their own sunday church services.

Creepy.. even all cleared out and to start over, nope... not happening for me. I kinda thought maybe those pictures around the room were Presidents but it was hard for me to see. Do you have to have ugly plastic orange chairs though around your kitchen table? There is a scrapper in there somewhere.. I'll take those paper holders off their hands.

I wondered if it was saying, if you are not FLDS - don't bother. You won't fit in. See - I have learned a great deal on this site! I know what you mean about the mixer.

With that kind of “staging” I can see why it’s been on the market. There is just some really odd things. Cardboard box nightstands?
Is it a sister wife house? Is that why the three kitchens?

So disgusting. There's a room with 7 large photos-all men. I didn't see any photos of women or children. I wonder how all the daughters feel about that. No surprise it's been listed for more than a year. It's the Mormon/LDS prophets who founded the church until polygamy became illegal. Then it's the FLDS prophets.
I was wondering about the appearance of two kitchens too. That is very common in Utah. They can be anywhere from a kitchenette to full blown everything. I know the older homes that have them, were built to do canning in the summer before air conditioning was a thing. There's one in my 70's childhood home. A stove, fridge, freezer, and an old Hoosier cabinet. My husband has rich relatives and their basement kitchens are much nicer than my only one. His uncle sold his home to a Utah Jazz player. The basement kitchen was next to the workout room, full sized basketball court, and theater room.

What is the weird stairway to nowhere? Or is the shelter? If you look carefully at the bottom right, it appears to lead to a hallway on the right. You can see a little flooring toward the right.
