I am so sick of bicycles, pineapples and flamingos. Enough already! What are you sick of seeing in collections?

Vintage and retro images--especially in sports. I don't like them in travel collections either, but I use way more sports than travel.
Lemons...odd because we drink a lot of lemonade in the summer, but I find myself never using lemons on my pages. And along that line I'd also have to add in Mason Jars.

random stuff in general - I don't mind images that fit the theme of a collection (ie suitcases for Travel or a bicycle for an outdoor theme or animals for a zoo/farm line) but the llama or the doughnut or the mustache or...that shows up in a basically unthemed collection? nope, nope, nope

The lips, eyes, llamas, and PINK for me. I like pink but it seems almost every collection has to have it.

The first thing I thought of is why so many bicycles?
I DO like the vintage and retro images.

Flowers. Flowers on everything. Flowers are great, don't get me wrong, but I'm tired of them being the default subject matter in just about every set. And it's always the same flowers, like roses, peonies, or daisies. There are so many cool flowers out there that I've never seen as paper.

I don't mind bicycles as long as they can be divorced from baskets full of flowers. And I don't mind images that fit with the theme of a collection. As Linda says, a pile of suitcases or airplanes fit well with travel lines. Would love to see more modern images of toys, vehicles, kitchen appliances, people. Don't mind the vintage look, but have seen a lot of it lately, and very little of the more modern stuff.

Cameras, bird cages, and unicorns (or unicats, unidogs, etc.). Oh, and the word ‘hello’, which shows up on practically every stamp set or chipboard embellishment set I buy.

Vintage Faded muted colors.
I like brighter vibrant colors. Darker pink, purple, plum, burgundy, Fuschia.

Cacti/succulents. Fruit. Bicycles. CAMPERS/trailers (And those are always large items too). Tropical images. But I imagine if you live anywhere more southern those would be much easier to use Houses. I'm sick of those pps of houses, or of city-scapes on paper! I *don't* mind: feathers. some random animals (but not too many please). rainbows. arrows. pink. watercolour. brush-letter style. hearts, stars. Butterflies. cameras. flowers.

I’m just dying to see something new. No more re-doing the same ole $&@“. An infusion of true creativity is sorely needed. Every time I see yet another “hello” I say “o hell”.

Coffee and books. I can only scrapbook my cup of coffee so many ways and I don’t get to read nearly as much as I would like.

Those weird outlined diamonds and similar shapes. I think they’re so ugly, but someone must like them. Sorry if I offended anyone who likes them. I still like flowery K&Co. stuff, so you can diss me about that.

I don't get the popularity of the donut. Maybe I need to eat more of them.
You can never have too many sloths though.

Every time I respond to a thread like this (see above) I try to challenge myself to come up with some icons/shapes I'd like to see that are NEW and FRESH.
Nada. We've done a lot thru the years. Chandeliers and all. Seriously...we're down to llamas and sloths.
I think that's why people who've been scrapping a long time feel like we've seen "hello" too many times. Or why when you have a change to use a theme - like Disney - you jump at it because it's different than our normal?
What is new and fresh in your ideas peas?

All of these suggestions and also concurring with the overuse of vintage imagery reminds me of something my son's former teacher said to me today and during a previous conversation as well. He is in the 2nd grade, had her last year for 1st, but she is back to teaching Kinder this year. Every Tuesday morning, he goes to her class and reads to them. I think he is reading a Dork Diaries book. She mentioned that it's really relatable for the kids (nevermind that a 'big kid' is reading it to them) because it talks about MODERN things.
It would be nice to have current vehicles, not old school station wagons and volkswagons, representing a road trip...even cutesy or cartoony. More modern imagery beyond that, too. I don't mind pictures of the back of a vehicle with luggage on top, but can't it look like cars and luggage we use today? That's all I'm saying.
More phones, social media references, talk about adulting and sentiments about what Mom life is really like, a knock off logo for Starbucks coffee, and maybe even Target runs for Mom lines...I know the Target and Starbucks thing is a stereotype in and of itself, but it would at least be current and relatable to more women, moms and not. No more of this vintage dresses with aprons over top, hair done up, vacuums, rotary phones, irons, etc that seems to be what a lot of collections do for Moms. I really like the super hero-esque style of the recent Mom line from Photoplay...and they used RED, not pink!!!! More of that, please!
I'd also love gender neutral lines...all this boys play in dirt and girls wear crowns stuff is just utter nonsense. My kids do tend to follow stereotypes...my daughter didn't have a lot of dolls or anything until she was at least 2 (she played with the same toys that we had already for our sons) and I didn't start buying her clothes with more than a splash of pink (like on a flower or something) until the last year or so. She is still the girliest girl you will ever meet and pink is her favorite color. But still, she likes to get dirty and play with sports equipment and joining her brothers to play Mine Craft (their only video game...she just turned 4 and shows us how to do stuff on it). My sons love all the stereotypical things, too, but they have no problem playing with her princess castle or stuffed animals with her. Can we please have a few lines that don't box our kids in?!

I'd like more fantasy stuff.
When was the last time you saw anything but unicorns, mermaids and the occasional dragon-that-always-comes-with-a-knight-and-princess? Where are my phoenixes, hippogriffs, and owlbears? Erdrich horrors? Even pegasi are hard to get, and good luck if you want non-cutesy on top of that. Monsters, bugs that aren't butterflies, bees, dragonflies or ladybugs? Good luck.

I don't get the popularity of the donut. Maybe I need to eat more of them. If my family or my sister’s can be used as an indicator, donuts are more for the men of the family. So why are they topped in pink??

100% yes to no more "hello" on everything. I'm also sick of anything with the word story, the cars with the Christmas tree on top (which I loved when they came out in 2016/2017, but last year every line had one), Vespas/scooters, speech bubbles, and giant ephemera. All just no.
I still love rainbows but I feel like they are on their way to being over done. I felt like cameras were everywhere for a while but I wanted one earlier this week and couldn't find any in my stash except some tiny puffy sticker ones.

CAMPERS/trailers (And those are always large items too) I pretty much buy from all the outdoor and camping lines that I can get my hands on here and one thing that bugs me is the amount or caravans or cabins that the lines have. We camped for years in tents and now we have an offroad trailer but being a literal scrapper I never use a caravan image on my pages as it is not representative of our trips. Fishing lines, we are not all fly fishing for trout/salmon, We use standard rods, sometimes beach fish and have a small boat, no fly fishing, I still buy these but again not representative. Not a huge fan of the geometric diamonds and hearts either, just does not work with my style. I can never get enough cutesy looking food or Flamingos though.

No to:
Weird random animals. Emu will probably be next, if Liberty Mutual has anything to do with trends. I'm just really over random animals.
Random things too. Donut. Cactus. Slice of pizza. Just stop.
Retro and vintage. It looks stupid paired with a pic of my teen playing on a tablet.
1950's stereotypes. No, I don't wear my heels and pearls to vacuum.
Same old school symbols. Not everyone takes the yellow bus. Why apples? Who takes a teacher an apple? Chalkboard? Really? When's the last time your kid used chalk on a blackboard?
Yes please, to:
Staple shapes. Stars, circles. Provide basic embellishment packs in complimentary colors, and graduated sizes.
Modern emblems. Smartphones, tablets, laptops. Flat screen tv.
Modern school symbols. STEM and science, non-cartoonish images. Computers, smartboards. Generic school club embellishments. "Part of the team," " Working together," "State Competition!" Geared towards clubs that are not sports, too.
More non-traditional family symbols and phrases. Not all families are mom & dad & 2.3 kids
Embellishments with non-binary pronouns. They & Them works for my teen, but there are other pronouns that other people may want to use.

I drive past a herd/gaggle? of llamas when I go to my son's house. I just bought llama paper and chipboard. I can't imagine using it twice though. Now lions could represent the actual animal or lots of other things. I agree. We need lions.

Right now I would say yes to images of markers, minivans, chubby girls (looking at you Felicity Jane), mixed drinks in various glasses, decorative crosses, and bowls (not vases but bowls). Also running shoes and those oval travel stickers with the initials inside them.
