I hate all of the epoxy I used. It has curled up and changed color.
I also hate October Afternoon flair- it has rusted...
I went through a period where I definitely overused product. I wish I could take 25-50% off my pages....

Epoxy stickers were the first thing I thought of, it's yellowed so badly. I have heaps of flair that has rusted, not just OA and I still put it on my pages occasionally (clearly I'm not super concerned about my pages lasting forever).
I'll have to think about my other regrets, I'm sure there are more.

Not really a regret, because I never actually got around to using them, but I am so glad I never used any of the metal embellishments like those old school Making Memories ones.

Flair badges. They are all rusted now, even the ones I hadn't gotten around to using. It's very disappointing!
Does anyone remember the free Christmas flair badges JCPenney gave out one year? I got a bunch of those to use on my pages and oddly enough they are fine. But the super expensive scrapbooking ones have all turned to crap.

I am a huge OA fan and my flair has never rusted from them. Epoxy stickers for me too have curled. I have never done it but I read somewhere that if you coat your flair in clear nail polish it won't rust.

After a few years, polish tends to get sticky and gross. Volatile products have no place in a project you want to keep for decades or longer.

Rubber elements. I have goopy messes from using the wrong type of adhesive, which reacted with the rubber over time.

I have some that I stuck directly on photos and it’s reacted with the photo, pulling the ink off and into the rubber so it’s weirdly discolored. I avoid rubber completely now.

I’ve got some cute rubber pieces but I won’t use them now. I love how it looks but hate how it’s ruined projects.

I've never used rubber because I was always worried about it. Flair for sure, though - all of mine have rust marks. I know I have copies of digital photos but I dont like my layouts looking dirty:(

What gets me is that they are still selling epoxy stuff. I'll never buy any epoxy things again. American Craft has cute wooden buttons but the centers are epoxy. It is a shame because they are so cute.
I've had no problem with my old Making Memories metal and I do like the way it looks. I think I'll dig my old stuff out and see if I can find a more up to date way to use them.
I have never used rubber because I had heard of the adhesive problem.
I actually use extra adhesive on the ends of my washi tape because I figured the tape wouldn't hold over time. So far, so good....
I always use glue on my Thickers unless they are the foam ones. For some reason the foam ones really stick. I have some very old vinyl ones that are starting to curl- I need to go back to my old pages and glue the edges down.

Making Memories metal frames that fell off my pages. Those suckers are heavy!
I have rub ons that fell off as well as Alphabitties that fell off.

Nothing really. I’ve had product fails like the ones described here but I don’t regret anything. I do know now to put glue with some unsticky stickers!

I thought the same thing about the finger nail polish that's why I haven't tried it. I had ordered some flair many years ago and it had a card in it talking about possible humidity and other things and recommended the nail polish.

Unfortunately rubber is one of those materials that isn't stable long term. No matter what you do, eventually it'll break down. This is also true of virtually any non-curing adhesive (think tape, or sticky dots). Over time, they harden and yellow. It'll take longer than epoxy, but the eventual fate is the same. You can't beat entropy.

I definitely had a phase when I overused ribbon. I really regret the fibers I used. We’re they called fibers? Sort of fluffy ribbon-like strings? I have one album that has a piece of hideous brown fibers sticking out of the top. That has to get fixed. And by fixed I mean removed.

Rubber elements for sure. When I started hearing about the problem I went back and removed quite a few . If I use them now, I stick on with scor-tape not glue.

When 'lumpy stuff' got popular, it seems like anything was fair use so I have things like rocks, those glass flat marble things, and all kinds of heavy metal embellishments like that product line called Architecture. They looked so nice but really dented the pages.
The product I most regret using is shape templates on my photos. I can stand almost anything but my mutilated photos.
