Wow this year is going fast!!!
I am trying to figure out what I want to take to our National Scrapbook Day Weekend Retreat. Its local at least so I can pick a project per day if I'd like.Hmm..I might just do that.
Take a Friday night kit, Saturday big project and Sunday small project again.
Art Journal class is this weekend. Our regular instructor is in Australia so the store owner is stepping in. I think we are trying string art.
I took advantage of the SSS mystery sale. I ordered three packages. I ordered Ink Road stamps --Seinfeld and Big Bang related stamps, I ordered a peony set from Altenew which includes stamp, die and stencil, and I ordered ideology stuff from Tim Holtz.
I am on a freeze until my retreat. Enough spending already. I have been using product lately though. I spend time organizing then I spend time creating or just trying out things.

You're absolutely right, the year is going by fast!
I haven't have any time to scrap yet this year! Working full time and taking care of my elderly father, are taking up all my free time, along with doing the books for my church and serving on the Session. I hope to get some free time for our crop here for NSD!
I haven't spent any money yet this year, on scrapbook supplies, but I was tempted to get the Echo Park warehouse box, but didn't. The high shipping was a turn off.

I'm working on converting over 500 photos from a recent vacation into a smaller size before printing them. Then I plan to scrapbook them in a 9x12 album Project Life style (3x4 pockets). Speaking of Project Life, I haven't done any this year yet. I should work on that too.

a local crop sounds lovely! scrappingtonMDscrapaholic - I'm sorry life has been too busy for scrapping. I hope you can squeeze in some time for iNSD warrior1991 - I love trip photos and I hate trip photos - they can be so overwhelming. Sounds like you've got a good handle on these! I've been focusing on speciality albums lately (DS27's album, DD18's college album, DD12's Girl Scout album) but this month I need to turn my attention back to the family album which has been sorely neglected. I've just finished up January 2018 and I'm about to do the final layout for Feb 2018...I'm not sure I have anything scrapped for March-Dec...and I know I haven't touched 2019 yet either. I did pick up several cardstock pads at Michaels yesterday -I like the Hot Buy cardstock - it's a nice weight/texture.

This weekend was a bust for scrapbooking. I'm hoping to get in an hour tonight while I watch The Voice.

I just ordered my March 2019 pics. I didn't feel like it, but I'm glad I did now that it's done.
Later this month I'm going to go to a craft big box store and pick up some new to me paper. I've been working with what I currently have for a long time, and there are only the remnants left. I'm kind of bored of it.

All my stuff has shipped from Simon. I'm hoping Canada Post does a better job delivering this time. Last time it took 3 weeks from the time it entered Canada to get to me. Used to take 4 days from time simon shipped to my door. I'm only 10 hrs from them

I still need to reprint some of my Knott’s Berry Farm pictures. I got them developed through Amazon and the colors are awful on some of them. The boysenberries look like raspberries. I’m hoping for better results on my printer.

I posted in another thread that I had issues with a couple products from my Stampin' Up order last week. I've almost always had great customer service experiences with them (although the one time I didn't really soured me on them for a while) but this was amazing. I got the 2 replacement products today along with 3 additional items that definitely exceeded the value (let alone the fact I paid about half that for them since it was during their deep demonstrator sign up promotion) of the items that they were replacing. Good customer service is always great to receive as a consumer, but this was beyond 'above and beyond'. Made my day and I was already having a pretty fantastic one as last night and today I spent a good bit of time finally using some of the art journaling supplies I've been slowly curating.

Im working on some random, old PL months that I never finished.
In April, I need to start making centerpieces for my son's Grad party. I'd really like to get them all done by end of the month so I can enjoy May and not stress.
I also would like to make a few birthday cards for summer birthdays.
Nothing real exciting, but lots to do.

I learned how to use the pen in my Cricut Explore Air 2! Why didn't I try this out for so long? I was intimidated by it, I guess.
It's super easy. Last night I stopped at JoAnn's to buy a variety of pens. I think the bolder tips will work better. I am going to try the fine tip on a greeting card inside sentiment.

I had done a layout for my granddaughter and put a sticker on it that I ended up hating. I peeled it off and tore the paper. I had nothing else to put there so I just put the unfinished layout in her book at her house. Yesterday morning I was going through stacks looking for some paper, and I found something that would work well to cover up that ripped area. I cut it, matted it and put adhesive on it, and as luck would have it, I went up to their house, got the layout, put the item on the page and voila' it's done! That's pretty random, lol!
I am constantly going through my bags and boxes of supplies, with no time to really organize anything. I know I have paper I can't put my hands on. I can't tell you how many snippets of time I take rooting around for stuff I can't locate. At least I get to familiarize myself with stuff I forgot about.

I saved some money ! Random: I WON a stamp and stencil from the Taylored Expressions April release for commenting on their Sneak Peeks. Of course I went right to the store and ordered $100+ more stuff for them to send me... Whooo Hooo! More stuff to play with! You are a big Taylored Expression fan... Glad you won something.

Best I can do is enjoy the journey. Oh yes! I find this worst with papers where the A side is a wonderful themey type print that you want to stay with it's theme or line (like camping say), and the B side is a wonderful generic print - like woodgrain - that you might need for *any* type of layout. When you need it, how do you remember? I've been tempted to start keeping a list of generic B-sides (like watercolour, woodgrain, stripes) so that when I need it I can find it. If I start just with new pps I purchase, and slowly catalogue old pps as I come accross them, I think it would help. I walked into 3 big box craft stores today and didn't buy anything. What the heck is wrong with me? Nothing is wrong with you. The problem is the 3 big stores probably didn't have anything new or anything not their own crappy store brand. I'm heading to M's later to use the 55% coupon on adhesive. That's all I've found there in a looooong time. I have seen recollections brand embellishments - like puffy stickers - that were cute - but so overpriced that I don't even purchase them on clearance. Random: I WON a stamp and stencil from the Taylored Expressions April release for commenting on their Sneak Peeks. Of course I went right to the store and ordered $100+ more stuff for them to send me.. Glad you won and splurged! That's a double feel-good

I FINISHED my lighthouse gift album!!!
Had a bit of a snag last night though. I moved last fall and the craft stuff is the only stuff not completely unpacked. Partly because I need to organize it and get shelves & stuff. So I go thru the box where I packed my blank albums & pick a real nice canvas & pleather album. Great. I’m set this is perfect for the lighthouses. I know there’s not enough page protectors in it so I root around in the box some more & find 2 packs of page protectors - great - all set- I start putting the pages into the album & then I go to put the extra protectors in & OH NO these aren’t 8 x 8! They are 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 WTF? I had no idea anyone even made that size. Why do I even have these? OH CRAP now what do I do. So I root around in the box again & find an empty pink 8x8 and I open it up and take out the page protectors to put into the nice canvas album but WAIT they won’t fit! The holes are wrong must be a different brand. Now what do I do? I don’t have any time to go buy page protectors before I see my sister! OYE! I’ve had these albums for years. I don’t even know what brand the nice one is. Ok so I go back and root around in the box again and I find another cloth album ( navy blue ) same brand as the pink one ( btw why do I have a bright pink album ? ) so I take apart both albums & put the right amount of page protectors in the blue one. Had a little struggle with the posts but it *just* fits. I’m good to go. Not the nice sail cloth type canvas & pleather, but it’s nice. It was midnight so I went to bed. Today I finished up the last few pages & a title page.
I’m DONE!
I guess I better order more page protectors for the 2 doodlebug albums I have for my next gift projects. So what if I have extras, don’t want to have a melt down in the middle of the night again.

Yes! I can’t believe it’s already April!! I did some shopping last month, the last of it is expected today. I’m excited for new goodies but I’ve also really enjoyed rediscovering my stash too. Best of both worlds! I have my photos sorted, basically to put aside ones I’ve already scrapped- sometimes I forget and scrap something twice 🙄 the rest are sorted by event and I’ll go through them to see what I’d like to work on. After that, I’ll make some page kits up. I also have a baby album that I’m doing. It’ll be a premade one to gift to my son and his girlfriend. I’ve never made a page without photos, so hopefully it won’t be too difficult. I have a lot of projects I want to work on, but with the warmer weather I really need to be outside and get some fresh air.. decisions decisions..

Not a lot of time this month to scrapbook but I did buy myself something scrappy for the first time this year! Treated myself to a bunch of Vicki Boutin's new line, Color Kaleidoscope. Got it in the mail today and I'm in love! It's like the best balance of color and neutrals! I foresee this being a highly usable paper line!

Last night I stopped at JoAnn's to buy a variety of pens. I think the bolder tips will work better. I am going to try the fine tip on a greeting card inside sentiment. That's something I should study too - I have a ScanNCut and I'm sure there are all kinds of things I could be doing with the pen function. Thanks for the reminder about that. It's not what I bought the machine for, and I get lazy because I can't keep it sitting out all the time, so I haven't really played around with it enough. I just made a big stack of Christmas cards. Most are recycled cards, the fronts cut down from cards I received (with a stitched die wherever possible) and then mounted on a basic white card base. I also printed out some digital designs I bought last year, die cut and mounted the same way. Simple simple. I need to add something nice inside before I put them away for the card drive in Nov (I learned last year not to leave the insides until the last minute). Maybe I can use my machine to draw the sentiments!

joblackford I am going to do the same - use my Cricut to write the sentiments in a few cards. It would be easiest to do it in the card base BEFORE completing the card, so the base lays flat on my mat.

It would be easiest to do it in the card base BEFORE completing the card, so the base lays flat on my mat. yes! I realized that too... I'll probably end up making a bunch of sentiments on thin cardstock that I can trim down and paste into my cards, but in the future maybe I can actually plan ahead. Stranger things have happened! I just took a look at the accessories that came with my machine (that I've never used) and I have a basic pen holder and 2 little Brother pens, so I can try the drawing function out. I watched some videos and looked into the universal pen holder that brother sells - found an Amazon warehouse deal for one for $12 (I heard craft shops usually sell that for $30) so I ordered one! Now I just need to follow through and play with it.

If I’m buying single sheets and love the B side I will buy 2, then file them seperately.
