I use Scotch double-sided tape. I have for the past 10 years. All of my pages are still holding together. I’ve always felt weird because everyone uses tape runners and scrapbook specific stuff. But the double sided tape works well.
I have an ATG gun but it is so freakin’ permanent. The Scotch tape lets me move things around for a bit.
Someone in the other thread just said that glue dots and glue strips don’t last. Now I’m worried because I love a good sticky dot. They work so well on heavier embellishments.
I love foam squares- I don’t like a totally flat page- I need dimension.
What glue do you like?

I have Elmers craft bond Tacky glue and elmers craft bond tape runner. I have an ATG, but it's just too big and bulky for me to use regularly.

I’ve mostly been using an atg for several years now. Probably since 2013-2014 or thereabouts. Sometimes use Scotch tacky glue or Zig. I think that’s what it’s called. It’s kind of like a blue felt tip marker.

I love my ATG. I have used a variety of other adhesives and switched to an ATG in 2010. Since 2010, everything I have used the ATG on in my scrapbooks has stayed put. I've had to re-attach a lot of other things I attached using other adhesives before I made the switch!
I use a variety of adhesives when I am making cards, though - ATG, scor tape, Tombow mono multi, and dimensional adhesive!

I don’t use scotch double sided tape because it’s too awkward to use. If it came in some type of dispenser that I could roll it on my paper I’d use it.

I use Herma Dots and tabs and have since they first came out. No issues with my pages falling apart.
I haven’t used Scotch double sided tape in my layouts because I don’t believe it’s acid free...although I’ve never actually checked.

Good ol' PVA (Aleen's Tacky Glue) for me. Yes, it has significant downsides, but nothing bonds like proper glue. Where I have to use double sided tape, it's Sookwang /Be Creative. Tombow if I need removable. 99% of the time I only use PVA.

I use the atg gun, plain old Elmer’s glue, & glue dots. I have no problem with anything adhered with the glue dots. If I’m adhering something heavy, I’ll use the redline tape.

I'm old school -photo squares are my go-to. I also always have on hand and use - foam dots/squares, glue dots (rarely) and my little Xyron X...oh and some half-sized clear photo squares for vellum and narrow stuff

My problem is I used so many different adhesives years ago I don’t know which ones didn’t hold. I’m currently using a Tombow runner and only had issues when I wasn’t using enough. Can’t cheap out on the adhesive I guess.

I have used so many different kinds of adhesives over the years and when I finally found one that worked for me I have stuck with it (pardon the pun ). I live in a humid sub tropical area and so many adhesives have failed me, they just warp or dry out really quickly. I love glossy accents for all the heavier stuff, I love the Kokuyo tape runner for making cards but I can only get that online now which is a shame and for all of my layouts I use sellotape double sided tape. It is a heavy duty and not repostionable but it has not failed me once, I guess for my issues with climate I have picked longevity over ease of use.

I started with double sided Scotch tape, but switched to the ATG maybe 10 years ago. I have a yellow (1/2") and a red (1/4") that I alternate between. I still buy the refills for the 1/2" online, but it's handy to get the 1/4" refills with a coupon at Michaels!
For dimensional adhesive I love the huge rolls of 3M Scotch double sided foam tape.
For wet adhesive, I like the Art Glitter "Designer Dries Clear" Adhesive. I used to use the Mono Multi in the green/white bottle, but like the Art Glitter glue better.

I started with herma dots/tabs around 2000, then started using atg gun about 2010 to now. I have had zero problems with either & still have lots of refills of the herma adhesive, but I mostly stick to atg.

I use a Glue Glider Pro system for most paper to paper sticking. It is more expensive than the ATG gun, but lighter and easier to use, and easier to pop the old refill out and the new one in. They have a selection of tackiness, but I prefer the Permanent. It seems to hold. For sequins, and for heavier items like metal charms, wood pieces or buttons, I use Ranger glossy accents. I like that I can put a drop where I want the item to go onto the page, and then squish the item around until I like its placement. For fabric and ribbon I use Sook Wang Scor tape. It will support a lot of weight like chipboard, too. I also use the wider tape on the back of cs when I am cutting intricate designs, so when the backing comes off I essentially have a sticker to go onto my page or card.

You are much more coordinated than me, I tried double sticky tape, it was a no go!
I used to use the Scotch repositionable to permanent tape runners, but they got harder to find. I liked that I could pull things back up and move them around if need be.
I must overadhere everything, because I go thru adhesive like water, and it adds up!
I gave the pink atg a try, and took the advice to not press down on whatever I was gluing down until I was good and sure it was staying there. If I do that, then I get a light tack with the atg and can (and do) often move things around. When I'm done with my page I smooth it all down with my hands to get it all to really stick.
I live in a dry climate, and both types of adhesives have held up great.
I hope you find what works for you!

ATG with EBay seller TapeDepot refills ($2.50 a piece including shipping) plus Avery acid-free glue stick for paper/pictures. Glossy Accents for bulky things. Zig liquid glue for thin little or delicate things. Super cheap, nothing falls off. No issues in more than 10 years of use.

I also use Scotch double sided tape (permanent).
For many embellishments, I use two adhesives. Whatever they come with, and a drop of Scotch high performance liquid repair glue (not the super glue).
I add liquid glue to enamel dots, foam dots, chipboard letters, etc.
All my pages have held together.

I always loved Herma dots removable and have lots of refills left. I also love the kokuyo dot runner for permanent.
I have specialty tape runners for vellum, scotch double sided, tombow mono in green bottle, matte multi medium with fine tip, zig glue pen and nuvo pen, redline tape, xyron and anything else except an ATG which is to large for my hands.
I believe in having choices.

I have been using Tombow Mono Multi glue for years and years. For double-sided tape, I use X-Press It and have done for many years. For odd shaped embellishments eg: flower or buttons or sequins etc. that I want to add to a card or layout, I use Crafter's Pick Incredibly Tacky glue. There seems to have been an explosion of glues and tapes released over recent years & recommended by crafters but I wonder how many of them are the same product that has just been repackaged with a different brand name(?).

For wet adhesive, I like the Art Glitter "Designer Dries Clear" Adhesive. This stuff is truly superior. The metal tip to the bottle is also ideal - very very precise and I haven't had it clog. I'm waiting for my LSS to get in the refill bottles. They don't ship in the winter as that affects the glue. I use ATG. For years, the "stickiness" factor was low enough that I could initially reposition. But once stuck down, stuff NEVER moved around (and I've been using it about 10 years). However, my last 2 packages of the stuff from M's - the "regular" (not acid-free) variety - is so DANG sticky that I'm shying away from it now! If it even touches a piece of paper, it's stuck and will rip the paper. I may have to order from a knock-off brand because this stuff is too strong. Has anyone else noticed a change in ATG in the past year?

I've been using my ATG as well but I decided to try out the Gina K adhesive roller. I like it, not sure on the longevity but it's kind of nice not to have the monster applicator that is the ATG.

ATG for me hands down. For smaller things, Tombow Mono Multi, Tombow Aqua and Glue Dots.

I have the Recollections version of a tape runner and hate that thing with a passion. It doesn't dispense right and I rip up the paper and it jams up the tape runner. Ugh. I can't wait until I use my last refill for it so I can throw it in the trash. Ha
I was digging through my stash and found a Xyron Mega Runner, permanent adhesive (it's a dot adhesive in a large runner). I'm finding it very easy to apply. Time will tell if it actually holds very well.
My favorite "tape" adhesive by far is Sookwang tape. It's more time consuming to use, but I just love it for the hold.
For a small "dispenser style" adhesive, I'm currently using Tombo Dot Adhesive. I'm finding a prefer dot adhesive to tape runners. I find them easier to apply, but that might just be because I'm not very coordinated!
For liquid glue, I love the Art Glitter Designer Adhesive (dries clear). I have other liquid glues, but I keep reaching for the art glitter glue. I've lost the non-rusting pin for my bottle, so I need to order a new metal tip and pin.
For heavy, small embellishments, I use Ranger Glossy Accents.
As primarily a card maker, I love dimension, so I have an assortment of foam tape, squares and dots and thick glue dots. I have all sorts of brands, mostly from Tuesday Morning. Since I don't have to worry about longevity for cardmaking I'm not too concerned about brand and strength. As long as it gets through the mail intact, I'm good.

I use the same tape runners as kelly8875, but in a refillable version. These have generally worked well for me, with the exception of about five years ago when I seemed to pick up a batch that were less sticky and a few things came loose for me. I also use a "dot" runner from this same company that I find convenient for adhering letters and other small or detailed pieces. I also use Sookwang/Scor-Tape from time to time...in particular for Design Team layouts where they will be hanging in a store for awhile. I have a love/hate relationship with this product...I love that nothing ever comes unstuck, but I hate it when I put something down crooked and I know I will never get it to lift up. As mentioned above, this is also great for ribbon. For heavier embellishments I use glossy accents. Canvas Corp used to make a mixed media glue that was the best...I even used it to glue the Nissan logo back onto my boyfriend's car when it fell off. It held amazingly well, but I haven't been able to find it in years.

I have a very dear friend who swears by scotch double sided tape. She has rolls of it and uses an old chianti bottle to hold the roll as it feeds through an old fashioned tape dispenser. She swears by the tape and loves using it. We tease her a bit, but it works for her.
I use several adhesives: ATG is my go to. I'm part of a buying group for refills, they are .95 each. Tombow Mono Permanent - for fussy diecuts, smaller items, or to double up on Thickers adhesive. 3L Adhesive Runner - Used to use these a lot more but I find they don't stick well over time. I also hate the white strips sticking out the sides when i'm not careful. Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive - Go to for small embellishments, wood, etc. Love how fast it dries. Therm O Web Zots - Prefer these over glue dots Foam Squares - I get them cheap from a local paper store. Use a ton of these.

I’m going to try Art Glitter Glue. I keep hearing great things. Right now I’m using Cosmic Shimmer a British glue I buy on Amazon, multi matte medium for embellishments, and Connect glue. Connect is way too expensive so I found the empty applicators that are identical to the Connect at an online store in WA called Impress Cards. My most favorite old stand by glue is Roxane blasting glue. I‘ve used that for years. It’s used by quilters but a scrap book owner introduced me to it. I buy it in big bottles online and fill my Connect type applicators with it. I also use needle nose metal tip bottles and fill them with various glues. Love the Sookwang tape for some things but not when I am going to need wiggle room. The one I can’t use without making a big mess and over-applying is Tombow, although it sticks well.

I use Dotto/Herma Dots for adhering paper and diecuts. It's my go-to and I love it. I use Scotch Quick Dry for wet glue. Glue dots for flair and wood. Stampin' Dimensionals to add dimension. Red-line tape for rubber pieces and things that need very secure adhesive.
