NY Times ArticleLet's just say when this hit our little hometown online paper, all the comments were hilarious. And not very complimentary. To me, the only thing he has going for him is his pretty face. The best news for the district he serves is that he has stated he won't run for congress while he's running for president.

So he's number 18? And we are still waiting on Biden to say he's in.

Who isn't? That's the better question.

He will drop out of the president’s race in plenty of time to run for re-election for his seat in Congress.

I have always liked him and feel he's a straight shooter.

To quote the President... he looks like he is straight out of central casting.

Several people I know think our governor, Inslee, is running so his name and face is out there for a future environmental position. that's exactly what these long-shot, no-shots candidates are doing. this is their chance for the media to put them on the national stage without having to rise through the ranks. they want to be bookmarked in people's mind's for the next time. the danger with that is the stigma of being a has-been or never-was. the Mr. So-and-So who tried and failed (emphasis on failed).

I’m afraid I’ve become so cynical that all I think about when another person enters the race is the collective amount of money raised and wasted that could actually contribute to a cause or a cure or something far more worthwhile.

I’m afraid I’ve become so cynical that all I think about when another person enters the race is the collective amount of money raised and wasted that could actually contribute to a cause or a cure or something far more worthwhile. I never understand this argument. The money comes from people who choose where it goes. It’s not like someone else can direct it to a suitable charity (of their own preference) if it isn’t donated to a political candidate. The person whose money it is chooses how to spend it, and it doesn’t need to be to your (anyone else’s) liking. Plus which, that donated money goes into the economy. It pays campaign workers and printing companies and TV stations and website designers and videographers. I’d say that’s a win-win.
