I'm thinking of buying a Roomba because I'm going crazy trying to keep my floors clean. We have a Beagle/Walker Hound mix and she sheds constantly it seems. I'm wondering if a Roomba will help?

LOVE my Roomba!
We got it in January. Just a basic model, no wifi with the one we got. Our entire main floor is hardwood & tile with area rugs. It works great! It can't do the entire main floor all in one go - I still haven't figured out how it decides where to go each time. But we are loving it.

I love my roomba on my carpets and on my wood floors. Roomba is a great little robot! I don’t have pets, so I can’t comment on how well it picks up pet hair. But I do have 4 kids, and one of them is a toddler. And Roomba picks up almost all of the crap they get on the floors. Crumbs, legos, eraser shavings, more crumbs, pieces of chicken, rice, whatever. It’s great!

I hate mine. I have a dog that sheds heavily, and that stupid thing just sort of pushes the hair around most of the time. It rarely makes its way back to the base. My Neato was so much better.

We have a different brand robot vacuum and love it for our tile floors downstairs. One of my daughter's responsibilities was to dust mop every couple days because our beagle would shed and the dust bunnies would wander around. Since we got our Deebot vacuum, she only dust mops a couple times a month in areas where it has trouble getting to.

I love it for my wood floors. It actually almost buffs them - they always look shinier when Roomba has done her thing.

I had one of the originals years ago and the darned thing went wacky within a few months. The company sent out an update gadget for me to plug in to the Roomba, but it still didn’t work. I eventually just threw it away. I wish I would have persevered because when it did work, it did a great job - other than getting itself stuck quite often. I couldn’t just let it work and return itself to the base, I had to monitor it, which added to the frustration with the thing.
That experience hasn’t soured me on them though, and I will get another one after I relocate.

We love ours. Our dog has pretty thick, puffy fur and sheds a lot. Ever since we got the Roomba, we don't run into little piles of fur in various places. We haven't had to do any touch-up vacuuming or anything either. The floor always feels clean.

I got the Eufy brand one from Amazon and I LOVE him! I named him Dobby and he does a great job picking up all the cat hair all over the house.
After doing research between brands, I ended up with the Eufy because reviews said it was much quieter than the Roomba brand. My husband works from home and is always on conference calls, so I wanted a quiet one. I don't know how loud the Roombas really are, but Dobby just has a soft hum while running and he's not heard over phone calls. You can program him to schedule run times, but I don't use that because of the cat and she can leave messes. A smeary mess through my house would be my worst nightmare! He can run about 90 minutes on regular mode, has a good size trash holder and when done, no matter where he is he makes his way back to home base. In fact, the other day when I set him back onto his charger he got off and re-set himself automatically because I didn't have him set correctly. I had no idea he was that smart!

We have had one for about 6 years and will never be with out one. Our old dog wasn't much of a shedder and but our new one is. It does a great job. We get ours at Costco. This is our 3rd one. One we did return because it stopped charging after about 8 months, easy return at Costco.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get one. I feel like it will make my life a lot easier and right now I REALLY need that! I got the Eufy brand one from Amazon and I LOVE him! I saw this one on Amazon and was considering it too.

This has been our experience as well and we have a Sheltie and 3 cats, 2 of which are long haired so our Roomba gets a workout!

I have the real Roomba that was a gift from my kids and it is THE BEST GIFT EVER. I love Jeeves so so SO SO SO much. I have wooden floors and I run him every other day.
Sometimes he gets a little disconcerted and sometimes he eats my phone cords, but mostly he is simply delightful!!
Do not hesitate!!

I have a Roomba and can definitely recommend it for both hardwood floor and carpets. Though keep in mind that robotic vacuums are not as powerful as an upright hoover but does a pretty good job for a daily cleaning. Read reviews on robotbox.net for more information.

So now you all have me wanting to buy one. I am so tired of looking at and trying to clean up the dog and cat hair daily and I dont' think my Dyson stick vac is working too well. Is there anything specific in one I should look for? I like the comment about the Eufy being quiet since both my husband and I work from home. Also since these vacuums are round, are they able to get the dirt out of corners? And also, do all of you have them vacuum every day?

I have miles of wood floors that are stained dark and a nightmare to keep clean (I didn’t pick them). I have been too afraid to get the Roomba because I am nervous it will scratch the wood all up. Does this ever happen? Thanks!

I’m wondering how well they handle area rugs, like a rug in the kitchen or bathroom or inside the front door, not a big one like you might have in a living room?

I ordered the Eufy 30C from Amazon yesterday. They have a promotional coupon for $100 off. Can't wait to get it today.

We have one and like it. We have to run it while we are at home so we can watch and make sure it doesn’t get stuck somewhere. I like how it came with sensors to avoid certain areas and I think it’s great for daily use. My only problem is it’s very sensitive to get right back on the track to charge. I feel like if we move it slightly by accident it stops charging. Other than that, I think it’s freat.

We have the Shark ion and we love it! We have a huge kitchen with wood floors and it helps a lot. We don’t have a dog just 1 shedding teenager with very long hair.

We got our roomba specifically to clean our hardwoods in the downstairs areas. That it also does carpets is a happy extra to us.

Ours has no problem running over the area rugs in our hallways. Same here. We took ours to the lake cabin where we have all vinyl plank flooring except the bathroom which has tile. There is an area rug by the back door and also a thick chenille type bath mat in the bathroom and it has no problems with either one. It does okay with dog hair from one shedding dog, but it was no match for when we had three. The dust cup in it is way too small for that volume of dog hair. It would get full before it was halfway done with our main floor at our house and then would just stop somewhere random, beeping because it needed to have the dust cup emptied.

We don't have a Roomba, but a DeeBot. It cleans kind of haphazardly, but I've found that it gets in between the cracks on wood floors very well and I've been really pleased with mine.
