I haven't in a while because I've been preoccupied with other things. However, summer is almost upon us, so I may just have to do some shopping for crafty goodies to enjoy on summer break!

What is the trick to searching on there? I'm not having much luck. It's difficult to search there. They tag everything with so many descriptors. But you could try 2019 dies or 2019 cutting dies, if you are looking for dies. Coverplate dies. Layered dies, floral dies, stuff like that.

Searching AliExpress is an art form not unlike learning a card catalog or filing system. I've found a shotgun approach to work best; hit lots of keywords, often. Listings are transient. They come and go as quickly as a few days. Only a minority stick around for good. The same product will often be listed with different pictures and different titles/descriptions. Annoyingly, DIFFERENT products may be listed using the same pictures or descriptions! You really, really have to pay attention to everything. Some words are near useless on their own - flower, cutting die, book (because of 'scrapbook'), stencil, metal, frame, cover, tag, set, shape, craft, DIY. Some are fairly good, such as edge, border, nesting (though you may also get 'nest' listings), animal, basic, words, label, lace, boy/girl. The sellers are good at identifying some things (butterfly, dog, fish) while others... not so much. Moose is mostly under 'deer', unicorns are 50/50 listed as 'horse', and most dragons end up under 'dinosaur' or 'pterosaur', or even 'bat'! Always work from the Cutting Dies category, of course: Here

Due to this and many other threads I’m going to take the plunge. I’ve never ordered from them but I did find a few dies I’d like. Any advice on ordering? Also do they take prepaid cards? I just got an Amex bluebird card.

I just got an Amex bluebird card. As far as I know, no there's generally no problems with refillable prepaid cards - it's the disposable ones that sometimes trips up the system. It prefers to have one consistent card number per account - which I believe the Bluebird is, so you should have no issues, hopefully! I've used a standard CC with AliEx for years and had no troubles thus far, and I have done a lot of transactions. I have heard of customers having issues with the single-use cards (often called 'gift credit cards', the ones with stupidly high fees) when they try to use more than a few with one account/address; it can trip up Ali's fraud algorithms. Also sometimes they weren't able to get refunds back at all because the number was deactivated(?) I'd stay away from the disposable CC cards for both of those reasons. You want a CC with a service that lets you see your transactions on a statement so you can verify they're correct anyways.

To absolutely no one's shock or amazement, I've been buying more animal sets to add to my repertoire of parts.

To absolutely no one's shock or amazement, I've been buying more animal sets to add to my repertoire of parts I recently bought a giant punch at Tuesday morning for $2 to make dogs for my nieces birthday card. Now I have no idea what to do with it because I doubt I’ll use the same dog next year! Dies are a whole lot easier to store! But I used scraps for her card so my largest expense was the $2 no big deal.

That they are; I do have some punches (mostly corner punches and some very basic shapes) but dies are so much easier to house a large collection of without needing an entire stockroom for storage. If you really feel you'll never need that punch again, you can always gift it to a school or even your niece. I've found most kids love punching paper.

Just received my TH knockoffs from his recent release and they cut great on my big shot. I also bought a chunky alpha set, several flower sets that can be layered with each other, some silicone pot holders to use to make patterns on my gelli plate and a dip pen set.

I bought some heat activated foil to use with my new WRMK Foil Quill. It arrived last week and it looks great but I haven't even opened the box for my Foil Quill. I've been wanting to play with it since it came but have been too busy to do much crafting of any kind. DH will be away this coming week on business so hopefully I will get to give it a try at some point one night after work...

Honestly I've found it easier to not look for anything specific, just to watch the Newest Listings until something catches your interest.
Buying on AliExpress works out best if you meet the following criteria: Not in a hurry Not picky about exact sizes Not buying an add-on set (because again, sizes) Not looking for a single, specific item
If you're looking for something in general, I can probably hook you up. Or at least point out the key words that would be likeliest to hit.

I am almost always in a hurry, super picky, and generally have a very specific item in mind, (Seashore Collection from Prima anyone???) I will just know that if I want to browse around that is a good place to go. Thanks!

You'll absolutely have a better time shopping if you consider AliExpress more of a flea market / garage sale / bazaar, and less of a store like Amazon or Target. It's very much 'buyer beware', and you'll never know exactly what products will be on offer! If you see something unusual you really like, it's best to buy it - after doing a couple of quick searches to see if there's a better price / store with a better reputation or one you've bought from before that has the same die, of course. But there is a lot of browsing needed, even if you know what you want. The listings are regularly inconsistent in naming, price, shipping methods, coupons, discounts, other available items from the same seller, etc.
Adding a bunch of random stuff to my stash today. Some really neat iridescent paper, a wax picker-pencil, and embossing folders mostly.
