I understand different political beliefs. I understand different religious beliefs. I even understand that some people actually believe all the BS from Fox. But I really can not comprehend supporting a depraved pathological liar who is destroying our democracy.

I could not stand Baby Bush and evil Cheney but understood it was just a difference of opinion. I never felt about the Bush/Cheney supporters the way I do about the Trumpers. To me it is unforgivable to support that psycho. It has nothing to do with conservative vs liberal. Administrations come and go and I actually like to see a balance. It has everything to do with trump supporters and who they are are deep in their hearts.

I'm not sure why one person's happy experience reveals such an intense level of vitriol.
To be fair it's not just 'a happy experience' is it. It's a politically motivated 'up yours'. If the OP was saying she'd been to a birthday party I'm sure she'd have got a different reaction

I don't like Trump either but cheese and crackers, people! You are so easily triggered!
Here's a reason for you: we have a person in the president's office who derives joy and revels in creating misery for other people, most of whom have had many less advantages in life than his sorry ass. Seeing someone celebrating this is perverse. If you are condoning his behavior, you're no better than he. People want to get on a golf cart train (if I'm understanding correctly what's going on here) to support any other past Republican presidents--hey knock yourselves out. No arguments from me.

"scale it down" to a one on one relationship with the guy. Given his history, if anyone came on here asking for advise with a trump like person, I'd bet nearly everyone would be on the "run" and "kick him to the curb" wagon. And yet, we're all in this "relationship" and being affected by him and it's ok? Nope.

The image of this is - well, it is quite something in my imagination. And kind of so appropriate relative to what I think about most Trump supporters. A parade of 300... golf carts... cruising around town to support Donald Trump. The tone deafness, the privilege and the utter inanity of it probably escaped the thought process of every single participant. But I bet it felt so monumental! Putter on there Trump lovers, putter on.

Did you ever read a description of someone in a book or an article and have that uncomfortable moment when you realize it hits too close to home? As a middle aged mom, it happens to me too often for comfort these days, including a recent scathing critique of a group of people carrying reusable water bottles. (That one stung until I read the response which was "Dude. They are criticizing drinking water.") Anyway, this is how I imagine the description of the main character in this cozy mystery novel... "She carefully dressed in her new bedazzled American flag pima cotton t-shirt, placed her feet into her favorite leather flip flops with the turquoise medallions and casually tossed on her red Make America Great again visor before she slid into her golf cart and zipped across the condo community to meet her friends for breakfast mimosas at the clubhouse."

I hope that there are lots of photos of the event. That way in about 20 years when nobody will admit to voting for Trump, there will be a record. It's easy to take off the hat and pretend you never supported the guy. But this...this wasn't just voting for him, this was a full-throated demonstration of devotion to him.

I just Googled pictures of the trump golf cart train. Look at how old most of the people in this parade are. Realistically, how many of them are still going to be around in 20 years?

Here’s a reason—-the gaslighting, lying mother fucker just keeps on with the division, hatefulness, attacks on a majority of Americans. He’s supposed to serve the people if the USA, not just those who worship, drool over and praise him. Just today—- And to be fair, the first responses to the OP did not attack her—they stated that they (they personally) could not fathom their thinking. There’s nothing wrong with that—right??? Having your own opinion? It wasn’t until the passive aggressive leftturnonly opened her pie hole that the shit went south.

If you can't understand how Trump's rhetoric and platform is problematic for many, especially marginalized populations, you aren't paying attention. That's not "easily triggered."

I'm glad you had a nice day with your friends. Part of me admires you for daring to bring this simple act of defiance to the board. How dare you not hate our president! How dare you not believe that all the people you tooled around town with writhe with deep-seated hatred and bigotry! How dare you see for yourself what others believe and not just believe what other people tell you! Your passive aggressive hypocrisy is showing. That and the thinly veiled making fun of others which you claim to abhor and find fault of the liberal peas. Thinly veiled? Woman, I am about as blunt as people come. Is there a single person who opened this thread that did not expect the OP to have negative things said to her? Is there a single person who opened this thread that was surprised that the first couple of comments did just that? You are the one who categorized peas, not me. If I had wanted to specify, I would have done just that -- as anyone who has read any of my posts for the past 11 years should realize. Go. Take your opinion of me out for a long walk, a good soak in the bath, or a trip to the dump for all I care.

I believe he is doing serious damage to our country. Yes I am “triggered “ by fellow citizens participating in and supporting that damage, and especially when they are proud and boastful about it. I am very ashamed of my country.

Yesterday was such a fun day here in The Villages in Florida. DH and I were in our first Trump Train golf cart parade. Gorgeous day. Over 300 golf carts went around two of the town centers which took about an hour and a half. Very festive...people all over the town squares cheered us on. Only encountered two Trump haters who shouted their favorite four letter word. Yesterday there were about 400 rally’s across the USA to celebrate the ten year anniversary of the Tea Party tax protests. This parade’s theme was Reject Socialism, Embrace Freedom. Villagers for Trump is the organization that put yesterday’s parade on. The group started just a few months ago and has over 1200 members already. Reason #148 why I could never live at the Villages.
Yes! Margaritaville all the way!

Golf carts are a major mode of transportation in The Villages. Golf carts are like cars there. Depending on where you live in The Villages, cars and golf carts share the same parking spaces there. You can Google "golf carts The Villages" and will see some cool rides. (I am not a supporter of their golf cart train.)

I have an idea for a poster for your next Trump Train Parade:
“Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my presidency. I’m fucked.”
You might have trouble fitting it on one sign. But you could put one part on 4 different signs, then drive your golf cart train around.

I never heard of "the village" but I have a seen a ton of threads started over the years where people attend support marches, rallies, protests etc. The Villages is a retirement community down in FL. My husband has an aunt and Uncle that live down there. They love it. Is that the swingers neighborhood?
