”Hard to believe that @foxnews is wasting airtime on Mayor Pete, as Chris Wallace likes to call him. Fox is moving more and more to the losing (wrong) side in covering the Dems. They got dumped from the Democrats boring debates, and they just want in. They forgot the people.....”
“who got them there. Chris Wallace said, “I actually think, whether you like his opinions or not, that Mayor Pete has a lot of substance...fascinating biography.” Gee, he never speaks well of me - I like Mike Wallace better...and Alfred E. Newman will never be President!”
Such a two year old. Man up you wimp.

So trump is giving an interview on Fox...
Seung Min Kim..
”Huh. Trump signals that he has some concerns about the impact that mandatory use of E-Verify would have on some employers, such as farms, because it's too "tough."
"You ... have to have a world of some practicality," he says in Fox News interview”
Either you enforce the law or you don’t. All employers are suppose to verify if someone can legally work in this country. Even if it’s tough.
Other option is to have a guest worker program which the Republicans are against and the Democrats supported.

MAY 16, 2019 Among the Beneficiaries of Trump’s Tariff Bailout for Farmers? A Brazilian-Owned Meat CompanyHow a multinational corporation is cashing in on the Trade War.After yet again ramping up his trade war against China last week with a new round of tariffs on Chinese goods, President Donald Trump quickly took to Twitter to assure our “Great Patriot Farmers” that he would shield them from the fallout. Soon after, US Department of Agriculture chief Sonny Perdue announced that the president had directed him to “work on a plan quickly,” adding that “@potus loves his farmers and will not let them down!” Trump later hinted he would come up with “about $15 billion” in public funds to offset the losses expected due to retaliatory tariffs on American exports. No details of the new aid package have been released. ** In January, the Greeley, Colorado Tribune reported that as part of the trade-bailout package, the USDA signed contracts to purchase $22.3 million of that pork from JBS USA, the American arm of JBS, a gigantic Brazil-based meat company that owns massive shares of the US beef, chicken, and pork markets. The news drew outrage. The Organization of Competitive Markets, a farmer-led group that organizes against corporate control of agriculture, circulated a petition calling for a halt to sending cash meant for struggling farmers to “global meatpacking corporations.” Undaunted, the USDA has signed two additional contracts to buy JBS pork with bailout funds, the environmental advocacy group Food and Water Watch points out: one on Feb.15 for $14,522,880 and another one on May 2 for $25,614,708.40. ($62,437,588.40)“Why is the USDA bailing out plants operated by JBS, the largest meatpacker in the world, with a program designed to help domestic companies and producers under economic duress?” said Tony Corbo, a senior lobbyist for Food and Water Watch. “This company does not seem to be hurting.” In an emailed statement, the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service, which administers the program, wrote that the agency “buys American commodities, produced on American farms by American farmers…regardless of who the vendor is, the products purchased are grown in the US and benefit US farmers. JBS qualifies as a bidder under this criteria.” ** And just as JBS’ US pork arm is being handed bailout money, its Brazil operations are managing to cash in on the US-China trade spat. China has already started to shift its meat purchases to Brazil to punish the United States.** Until hostilities broke out last year, China was the biggest overseas market for US farm goods, particularly soybeans and pork. And the places where these soybeans and hogs are grown tend to solidly support Trump. So a trade war against China means a direct economic attack to the president’s turf on the electoral map. Handing cash to a multinational corporation already benefiting from the trade war seems like an odd way to address these self-inflicted problems. More at link: www.motherjones.com/food/2019/05/among-the-beneficiaries-of-trumps-tariff-bailout-for-farmers-a-brazilian-owned-meat-company/LOTS to think about and talk about too... The small farmers will be the first to be affected when the plutocracy returns us to a fuedal society without titles. Keep voting for confirmed plutocrats whose policies support the deterioration of our economy for the benefit of the plutocrats. The re-employment of trickle down economics is not an accident. They WANT to put the economy back into that tailspin that’s how they make money off of other people’s suffering. Foreclosure is a huge money maker for them. People think educated ‘liberal’ politicians are the ‘elite’ They had better think again, take a good hard look at the policies that were instituted in the last 2 years. None of them benefit the middle class or the poor. None. Why do you think the middle class ‘tax cut’ has an expiration date but the corporate tax cuts do not? The right is trying to institute a plutocracy where they live off the labor of the masses. Who do you think will buy up all those family farms when they go into foreclosure? Keep knee jerk voting to make us all serfs. The very thing the fore fathers rs tried to prevent with checks & balances that are thrown by the wayside for ‘party over country’ You can claim I’m a nutcase but don’t believe me. Research it yourself. Where do you think these policies lead the country? To prosperity? Why would you think that when the last time it was done it came close to destroying the middle class? www.yesmagazine.org/issues/the-end-of-poverty/wealthy-capitalist-nick-hanauer-on-why-money-doesn-t-trickle-downwww.google.com/amp/s/amp.businessinsider.com/a-message-from-us-rich-plutocrats-to-all-you-little-people-2012-11YESSSSS!! Does this mean he will not be meeting with the Queen?!?!?!?! President Trump will reportedly meet with Prince Charles during a state visit to the United Kingdom next month.CNN reported that the two men will have an afternoon tea at Clarence House, the residence of the Prince of Wales. The most likely date for the meeting is June 3, the network reported. It's unclear which party requested the meeting, CNN reported. Neither the White House nor the prince's office immediately responded to a request for comment from The Hill. Prince Charles, 70, is the heir apparent to the throne as the oldest child of Queen Elizabeth II. The prince reportedly declined to meet with Trump during his first visit to the country as president last summer.Trump and first lady Melania Trump are scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom for a state visit from June 3-5. The White House has already announced plans for the president to meet with the queen and Prime Minister Theresa May. The two will announce attend a ceremony to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. thehill.com/policy/international/444603-uks-prince-charles-to-meet-with-trump-during-state-visit-reportHe was rather RUDE to the Queen!! ******************** Got my answer!! Trump and Charles, heir to the UK throne, are expected to meet for afternoon tea at Clarence House, the official residence of the Prince and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. While a state visit guarantees an audience with Queen Elizabeth II, visiting leaders don't automatically get a one-on-one with Charles. The Prince's office declined to comment publicly on the meeting, or the agenda. But given Charles' passionate and lifelong environmentalism, and Trump's well-known climate-change skepticism, it seems inconceivable that the issue would not be discussed. Charles warned against "potentially catastrophic global warming" in a speech during a tour of the Caribbean in March. "We demand the world's decision-makers take responsibility and solve this crisis," he said. The Trump administration, by contrast, has been accused of deprioritizing the issue, withdrawing from the Paris climate accords in 2017. ** www.cnn.com/2019/05/20/uk/prince-charles-meeting-trump-uk-state-visit-gbr-intl/index.html

The passing of the April 15 deadline for Americans to file their tax returns did nothing to quiet the noisy political and policy debate over the pros and cons after the first year of the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017. But buried in the new tax law is a provision that so far has gotten little attention but is a major and unwelcome surprise for hundreds of thousands of low-income and middle-class college students and their families: The legislation sharply increased the tax levied on the portion of scholarships set aside for expenses such as room and board that colleges and universities award to deserving students from families of little or modest means. The bottom line: these students are now being taxed at the same rates as wealthy individuals. Also greatly affected by this hidden tax hike: college athletes on full scholarships, many of them, of course, who also come from families of little or modest means. Since 1986, scholarship money that is not for what is considered direct educational expenses such as tuition and books has been taxed under something called the “kiddie tax.” Under the kiddie tax, a child’s unearned income was taxed at the rate of her parents. For low-income college students, this was a very low tax rate. But now this scholarship money — regardless of how little money a student’s family makes — is being taxed at the same rate that applies to trusts and estates. To give proponents of the tax law the benefit of the doubt, this draconian tax hike on the backs of low-income and middle-class college students and their families is a mistake, but one that too many of our students and their parents just paid dearly for. The average student and his or her parents had no idea that they would wind up owing far more in taxes for 2018 than anticipated, simply because that student received a college scholarship. Here’s the real-world impact on a hypothetical student: Jessica is a full-time undergraduate age 20, claimed as a dependent by her parents, who have an income of $50,000 a year and jointly file as a married couple. Jessica got a full scholarship for the total cost of her education at a private university, which includes tuition, room and board, books, and supplies. Good news, right? Not so fast. Roughly $11,500 of her scholarship is subject to taxation, because it pays for room and board and similar expenses. If that money was taxed under the same 12 percent rate that applies to her parents’ regular income, the amount owed would be less than $1,400. But because it is taxed at the higher trust and estates rates of up to 37 percent — which means a portion of Jessica’s money is taxed at the near top rate of 35 percent — her parents owe more than $2,600, an 85 percent increase.Ironically, a family with an income of $100,000, for example, actually will pay less than under the old tax law, and essentially the same as low-income families. This unfair new tax hike is affecting nearly 1.4 million college students and their families, but the damage does not stop there. It hits individuals outside higher education too, such as some “Gold Star” families receiving survivor benefits. ** More at link: thehill.com/opinion/finance/444599-taxing-college-scholarships-a-travesty-to-low-income-and-middle-class

And since we still had the 529 part of last year it would have hurt DD to claim herself. Now she’s done and on her own tax wise He expects to claim the younger one next year but I think he will run into the same issue. LOL We will see

First step!! District Judge Amit Mehta on Monday ruled in favor of a subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee for President Trump's financial records from the accounting firm Mazars. In a 41-page-long opinion, Mehta found that "President Trump cannot block the subpoena to Mazars." Trump's attorneys had argued that the subpoena was unconstitutional because it wasn't tied to legislation. But attorneys for the House said that the records will help strengthen ethics and disclosure laws and see if Trump is in compliance with the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. "These are facially valid legislative purposes, and it is not for the court to question whether the Committee’s actions are truly motivated by political considerations," Mehta wrote. thehill.com/regulation/444638-judge-upholds-house-panel-subpoena-for-trump-financial-recordswww.scribd.com/document/410854553/Court-order-ruling-Trump-cannot-block-subpoena#from_embed** President Trump on Monday said he would appeal a federal judge’s decision upholding a subpoena for his financial records, blasting it as a “crazy” ruling by “an Obama-appointed judge."
“We will appeal it,” Trump told reporters at the White House before leaving for a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. “It’s totally the wrong decision by, obviously, an Obama appointed judge.” Monday’s decision by U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta, an Obama appointee, dealt a blow to the White House’s efforts to stymie congressional Democrats’ investigations into Trump. Mehta found that the House Oversight and Reform Committee had valid reasons for subpoenaing several years of Trump’s financial records from the accounting firm Mazars USA, even though scope covered the time before he was president. ** thehill.com/homenews/administration/444655-trump-blasts-obama-appointed-judge-over-ruling-on-financial-recordsDo we have the right to find out who appointed the judge we might have to go before? I never heard this being done all these years.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) mocked entertainment figures’ vows to boycott his state because of its new “heartbeat” abortion law, calling opponents ― including Oscar winners Natalie Portman and Sean Penn ― “C-list celebrities.”
“I understand that some folks don’t like this new law. I’m fine with that,” Kemp said at the Georgia Republican Convention on Saturday, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’re elected to do what’s right ― and standing up for precious life is always the right thing to do.”
The governor reportedly went on to declare the Republican Party “the party of freedom and opportunity,” and added: “We value and protect innocent life — even though that makes C-list celebrities squawk.”
So what about the innocent children killed by guns when idiots leave them out where they can get their little hands on them? Or high school kids killed by a nut case with an AK-15? Apparently they don’t count.

”Judge Mehta, Page 24: "It is simply not fathomable that a Constitution that grants Congress the power to remove a President for reasons including criminal behavior would deny Congress the power to investigate him for unlawful conduct—past or present."

linkNewsweek “CHINA 'WILL NEVER' JOIN ARMS CONTROL DEAL WITH U.S. AND RUSSIA, SAYS DONALD TRUMP HAS NOT EVEN FOLLOWED PAST AGREEMENTS”
China has dismissed the possibility of entering into negotiations for a trilateral arms control deal alongside the United States and Russia, highlighting that the former has failed to uphold its international commitments anyway. At a press briefing Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang warned of "growing instabilities and uncertainties in the field of international strategic security," specifically pointing out how a "certain major country has withdrawn from one international treaty and mechanism after another while building up its own nuclear and missile power." The remarks came as President Donald Trump attempted to get Beijing to join new non-proliferation agreements as Washington abandoned previous ones with Moscow. Lu argued that such moves "impacted global stability, eroded strategic mutual trust between major countries and weakened international arms control mechanism." He said that "China and Russia both believe that they need to strengthen the planning of strategic cooperation, adhere to multilateralism, firmly check the negative tendency and resist the harm of unilateralism."

Karl the Fog... ”Tonight’s forecast: partly cloudy with a 100% chance of the @warriors going to their 5th consecutive NBA championship” Dang. I was watching the play-by-play but got up for a minute when it was tied with just under 5 minutes left and completely forgot to get back to it. I knew there was no chance of Portland taking the series but I was hoping they’d put up a little resistance. Probably would have been better for the Warriors as well to give Durant and what’s his name more time to heal. ETA: Ouch, just checked, well fought game. Trailblazers are going to be wishing they had gotten just 2 more rebounds, Warriors absolutely killed them on the boards.

Why aren't Americans as intelligent?
"This was the crux of the plan: The woman would make possibly illegal donations and buy a 50 percent stake in an influential Austrian newspaper, allowing her potentially to make its coverage more friendly to the Freedom Party’s cause. In exchange, Strache would award her with lucrative government contracts. The politician went on to say in the video that he hoped to “build a media landscape” like Hungarian President Viktor Orbán did, clearly admiring the authoritarian who has decimated the free press in his country."
"Freedom Party". Just like America - Orwellian doublespeak.
