There is a demonstration at the legislature today. I am not sure why seeing how it’s legal but if it makes them happy to use I. Public so be it. Hope you are pain free, have plenty of good snacks and are enjoying this happy day. What does 4/20 mean? It started as the police code for Marijuana Smoking in Progress. After local heads heard of the police call, they started using the expression 420 when referring to herb - Let's Go 420, dude!”Apr 20, 2010.
My girlfriend in Spain can’t wait for it to be legal in Portugal so her mother can use it for pain. She, too is counting the days!

I've been using medical cannabis since I got my card in August 25, 2018. In my state only medical cannabis is legal and I am very grateful for that although I do hope and think it should be legal in every state in the USA certainly medically and hopefully one day for recreation too. It has been a true lifesaver for me in treating my migraines especially since my insurance that I pay a crazy amount for every month will only approve 2 doses of migraine medication per month. That doesn't work when you are having 5 migraines a week.
I vape mine (which turns it into a vapor instead of smoke) and with 2 hits of a good strain the pain from a migraine is gone. I do have to repeat sometimes (depends on the strain) within 2 hours. I love that it is instant relief. Such a great blessing. It also relieves the pain from my frozen shoulder that I have right now and it helps my depression.
Happy 4/20 day to all cannabis and CBD users on the board.

I had a great laugh today when I realized that a good friend of my husband's birthday is today...on 4/20! He is a total weed enthusiast and I got the biggest giggle from realizing that his birthday was today!

I'm another medical marijuana user. I have RA and Fibromyalgia. I was considering replacing my left knee (right one has been replaced) because of the pain when I walked. I was taking 200mg of Tramadol daily (for almost 8 years), and had to add some hydrocodone on most days for the pain. I also had a pretty noticeable limp. I stopped the Tramadol/hydrocodone one day, the same day I started with the MM. Best decision I ever made. A few weeks later I noticed that I was no longer limping, I was sleeping better, and all the weird fibro pains are gone. I know several people who have had similar success. I'm not sure why there are still people out there that are so against marijuana use.

I’ve been using CBD oil to help me sleep. I tend to sleep fine on my own for about four hours, then I wake up and my mind starts going at 100mph. The CBD helps me get another 3-4 good hours of sleep in, and as an added bonus I have a lot less joint pain and stiffness when I get up .

I was born at 4:20 AM (in June, not on April 20!). This is a piece of information that I definitely do not share with my high school students, I would never hear the end of it!

I really wish it were recreational legal in Maryland.
But I also feel like there are a lot of people locked up for marijuana that need to be released. Nonviolent possession of thousands who didn't have the money to mount a defense. So much of the prison system is built upon this.

Strawberry jelly slices. They taste amazing. I am sick of chocolate now as I had brownies for a couple of years. We are getting an edibles restaurant. Kinda like a pub but cannabis. Excited! You don’t go there to get shitfaced but to enjoy a glow with your meal. I am so excited about your new educational endeavour. I mean what’s the difference between what you will learn and opening a wine making store? It’s the same thing. I hope you learn lots of interesting stuff. You should get some pharmacology besides botany.

My mom is just starting the process to get a Dr. that will approve it for her. She has fibro, RA, lupus, hashimoto, reynauds, spinal stenosis and a constant headache going on 2 years. I'm so hoping that she can get some relief. The tramadol isn't helping at all anymore and the methotrexate (sp?) is causing a lot of side effects. It's so hard to see her suffer and not be able to do anything about it. Praying the doctor / paperwork process goes smoothly so she can start to get some relief soon. I'm going to share your post with her to give her hope!

I’m a day ahead, but I celebrated since I’m somewhere you can get it finally. My regular country of residence, Korea, is draconian about weed.
I forgot the delightfully happy feeling, it’s been so long since I smoked. It really is magical!
I was at a bar with a group of expats, but one of them was creepy and he started propositioning me via surprisingly well done but dirty rap so I took myself home to bed. It was a pretty weird evening😂

We've been legal for a few years in MA, but our businesses are just starting to finally open now. I haven't used it for a long time as it tends to make me anxious, but Im anxious to talk to someone knowledgable at a shop about what might be beneficial for me. I do use CBD oil for monthly anxiety/depression and it's been a life saver.

For great information about cannabis or medical marijuana there is an amazing website called leafly.com You can look up strains by medical ailment or what I do is check the menu of what my local medical marijuana pharmacy has in stock first, and then look up those strains on this site. Each strain will show up with a graph first that will tell you medically how it rates for pain, depression, and all sorts of things. Sometimes it will say that it is good for hunger which means it will give you the munchies. For migraines I look for those that have the best pain relief. There will also be reviews for each strain.
To find out what MM pharmacies are close to you use the website called weedmaps.com
Leafly also has a ton of other information besides just different strains. Anything and everything you want to know is on this site.
So far I have tried probably 8-10 different strains since August. The best one I've found available here in Maryland for migraines is called Thai Lights (for migraines). The second best is called Montana Silvertip. Blue Dream and Girl Scout Cookies are both pretty good. CBD doesn't work at all for me for migraines. High THC works best for me for aborting migraine pain.
Depending on where you are in the country will depend on what strains are available to you.
I wish all of you who are just starting out the very best of luck with this.
Also for myself I've found that using the oil cartridges is the best, fastest and cheapest way of vaping. They've become the most popular lately and I can see why. They are very easy to use and don't need any cleaning. The plant matter is distilled down into an oil and it is sold in a metal cartridge. You can buy what they call a "battery" at your pharmacy or dispensary where you buy the MM. It's basically a slim vape pen. You screw the oil cartridge into the vape pen (first you charge it up), click it to start it up and then inhale. It lasts a long time and when it is empty you just screw in a new one. No cleaning needed at all.
I like to change strains when I need a new one because I am always looking for the best one.

My husband is a regular user since his horrible car accident 3 years ago. His back is so jacked up his doctor told him he could do opiods or weed...he chose weed. When he was job hunting earlier this year he had to stay off of it for the pre job drug test. Even though it's legal here in CA there is still such a stigma around it and many companies still make you test clean before they hire you. He was in so much pain with out it!

It’s getting better here. We have a Cannabis Act which is is like an amendment to the constitution and it was signed into law. The people who don’t like it are free not to use. It’s legal here and the nay sayers should just shut up.
My weed store donated $100,000 to the Canadian Cancer Agency from bank fees they charge to using the ATM. How much did the opponents donate?

There is a big difference in the USA between the weed that is sold on the streets (who knows what's in that?) and the medical marijuana or cannabis (both terms are correct) that is grown for medical use. In MM strains are cultivated and selected particularly for different ailments and provide different benefits. Some people smoke cannabis purely for pleasure and in my mind that is perfectly okay-you can't overdose on cannabis to the point where it will kill you-unlike alcohol. The fact that marijuana is till classified as a Class 1 drug-the same as heroin is Insane in my opinion. I think that is where the stigma comes in-uneducated people look at this and just don't realize all of the health benefits it does provide and don't know the true facts.
I also think the marijuana that is sold in stores in the states that are legal is a far way from what was sold on the streets but I don't live in a state where it is legal recreationally.
Elannah-no, there isn't hardly any odor at all when you vape. There is a tiny bit when you first exhale but it dissipates very quickly. I prefer it for my migraines because I get relief instantly. With an edible I would have to wait 20 minutes or more until it hit my digestive system. Edibles are still illegal in MD. but some companies have gotten around that by packaging them differently. Right now there are only a couple available. I've tried one-a gummy but it didn't effect me at all.
People also react differently to strains or even methods of delivery. What works for one person may not work for you. Which means experimentation is the order of the day when you are first starting out.

I will ask about vaping and cartridges. I am open to other things. I am going to get some CBD oil too. So far just edibles are really working for me. I had a mug of tea with indica oil in it a while ago. It works for my anxiety which is at an all-time high.

Can I ask which strains you’ve had the best luck with? I’m always willing to try new ones, and I might be able to find your state’s equivalent in my state. Thanks! Sure. By the way it's leafly.com You wrote leaflet-I just wanted to make sure you had the right website. The other website is weedmaps.com The strains I've tried so far are: Medi Haze-this was the first one recommended to me by the MM pharmacy. It had .21 grams CBD and .13 grams THC in the cartridge. It was a complete failure. Did nothing for my migraines. Sour Diesel-this one was next. It worked but I didn't like it because it made the sound in my ears echo and it felt like everything was slow motion. It had 82.5% THC and 2.7% CBG. If I tried it again now I'd probably have a better reaction now that I've been using cannabis for awhile. This was my first use since college in 1980. Ghost Train Haze-this one was next. It worked okay. It had 74.7% THC and 1.1 CBG. Girl Scout Cookies-this was a really good one and I got it two times. It has 79.4 THC and 0.90 CBG. Blue Dream-was next and this one was also really good. I got this one twice too. It has 92.81 THC and 3.16 CBG Blueberry Cookies-was next and this one was just okay. 70.9 THC and some CBG. Salmon River-pretty good, but not as good as I was hoping THC 73.1% and CBG 4.3 Thai Lights-the ultimate, the very best I've found so far for migraines. 2 hits on the vape pen and my migraine is often gone for good. No redosing needed. THC 86.6%, CBG 2.50% Montana Silvertip-good but I have to redose. What I like about this one is no munchie side effect. THC 81.6% and 3.5% CBG. If you are having trouble with migraines I'm part of a great facebook group called Migraine Buds. It's for using MM for Migraines. I'm sure there are other groups out there for other MM uses. New strains pop up all of the time and like I said I've found leafly.com to be the greatest resource for learning about the different strains before I go shopping. Much better than the folks at the MM pharmacies. I wish you the best of luck and don't worry. When I first started I was almost frozen at the amount of information I thought I had to learn. But with leafly.com it got a lot easier. There are also tons of ways to ingest MM but the most economical, easiest as far as cleaning (there is none) and fastest are the oil filled cartridges. Right now solid concentrates are getting a lot of publicity (butter, wax, shatter) but I don't like them. You get less with your money, the device you vape from is more expensive and you have to clean your vape pen, plus you have to replace part of it every 2 weeks-more $. I got one of the new vape pens for solid concentrate that I won from facebook and two weeks ago my local MM pharmacy (actually everything within a 30 mile radius) was out of Thai Lights except the closest one had it in a shatter form. I bought it since I had my new vape pen that I had won. I tried it out but just taking two hits used up 1/3 of what I paid $65.00 for. In comparison I also bought an oil filled cartridge for $50.00 of Montana Silvertip of 1/2 gram (that's what I've always gotten 1/2 gram). This lasts me 2 weeks of almost nightly toking of multiple hits (I'm using it currently for my frozen shoulder pain. When I first started people at the MM pharmacies were pushing me toward using flower (what they call leaf) instead of the oil cartridges. I knew I didn't want to do that because it smells a lot more, it's time consuming (you have to grind it, buy a much more expensive device in order to turn flower into vape, and clean it). So I chose the oil cartridges. Now oil cartridges are the most popular item. Go figure.
