Do you or your kids have tattoos? Pic share!

First is self-explanatory, second is the last line from Harry Potter, and the third is Peter Pan...”second to the right and straight on till morning”. These are all dd’s, I don’t have any. She also has one on her side just under where a bra strap would go. She said that one hurt more than all the others put together. 😵 All of them can be covered up if she needs to although she said that many social workers have them.

My DD20 has several. Ballerinas on her upper arm, Japanese doll on her ankle, moomintroll on her other arm, grl pwr on her leg and an Origami crane on the inside of her forearm.
I have a few from many years ago although I had an armband redone two years ago.

I have a Celtic cross on my back. Got it when I was 18 to honor my step dad (now passed) but it’s awful, lol. I still like it though because of the sentiment and might one day try to fix it.  

This one is my son's. It is on the right hand side of his chest. He wanted an homage to dogs, and how he’ll still want to love them after he’s dead! 

If I should hazard a guess, I would say 25 percent of the lawyers I know have them. Got my first before I graduated University, and has added more over the years. I now have 11.

I got one when I was 43, I think. Very few people know about it. My extended family would be pretty judgy I think, so they don't need to know. It isn't somewhere that anyone would see. It's a blue outline of a heart and the right side is three footprints. One for each of my kids.

I've told my kids I didn't care if they got a tattoo, but they should wait until they were at least 25. And to keep any tattoo below the neck. I don't think it's something that should be taken lightly. That said, my kids are not the type that would get tattoos. They all have a very healthy aversion to needles.

I really love that tattoo.  My brother was in the Navy and I have been thinking of getting an anchor tattoo in his memory (because he was also my anchor) - I really like this a lot especially since it is based one Hebrews 6:19 as well.  

Ok...disclaimer here......I’m old! I don’t have any nor any desire to get any.

I also haven’t read what everyone has written. When I think of tattoos I think of sagging ones. I’ve seen some sagging ones. They look just nasty. Kinda like a kid has scribbled on an arm or leg.

Aren’t you, any of you concerned about the future look of the tatoos?

This my tattoo I got when I was going through my divorce. It’s on my wrist.

I have three currently; I didn't get my first one until I was in my 30s... and I never thought before that I was a 'tattoo' sort of person in the past... I'm not concerned about what they will look like when I'm older, wrinkled and sagging, because I didn't get them for how they look to other people- I got them for what they mean to me. Other than the tattoos, I'm not what anyone would ever call 'edgy' or hip at all, lol. I dress pretty conservatively, I don't have any piercings, etc. Just the tattoos. I'm a visual person, and I like having things important to me represented visually where I can see them.

my first, on the top of my right foot: the word 'strength' underlined with a pink ribbon (in honor of my sister surviving breast cancer and for me to remember that I am stronger than I think)

my second, on my left shoulder blade: a winged heart with a cat paw and a dog paw inside... for all the pets in my past so I can keep them close to my heart. That one didn't look quite like I hoped from an artistic standpoint when it was done, so I've had it worked on to improve it. (I can't see this one, but I wanted it close to my heart and I didn't want it on my chest.)

my third, on the inside of my left forearm: a feather landing on the water-- the feather is black with white spots (feather of a Common Loon) and is in honor of my dad when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, and to remind me of all of our vacations in Minnesota when I was growing up.

the BIG one that I really want but I've been waffling because I really want it to look GOOD, and it needs to be custom designed: on my right upper arm-- but a large design that will look like a Victorian postcard design in a horseshoe (something like this one) with lilies of the valley and either lilacs or peonies, a butterfly of some sort, a book, and something to represent art.  This one is to honor my mom and my Grandma (her mother) and my love of nature, books and art.

I also want one of the astrological sign Gemini- possibly on the back of my neck.

I also want one on the inside of my right wrist-- a simple, small design to represent my struggles with my weight and depression... but I don't know what the design will be yet. Maybe a word? I like the typewriter font used on the quote from Les Mis...

I guess it's pretty true that once you get one, they're addictive, lol!

Im not worried about mine since its on my ankle. 

Now, one of my best friends in High School got a spiral of circles with red ink  around her belly button (like THIS). Super cute when we were 18 with flat stomachs & were sexy. Not so much now that she has gained quite a bit of weight (from kids) and those circles now look like a dart board. Thank God I didn't get done when we were 18. 

I don't have a tattoo.  But if I did get one I would want of my son's name in his own handwriting on the inside of my wrist.

second is our 3 zodiac signs combined (me & dh are the same, then one for ds & one for dd)

3rd is most recent which i got one year after finishing breast cancer treatments


DD has 2 - one for her love of the beach & the other in support of me
