Happy Easter everyone! My dd's are 20 and almost 16 but we still give them Easter goodies because they are spoiled I swear I bought more candy but I can't find it so maybe I didn't ... or I'll find it next week My mum is coming over for dinner tonight ... we'll play Scrabble (she always beats me even though I'm a teacher) and then we are grilling steaks, veggies and foil potatoes ... doing a turkey dinner was too much work Here is the Easter meme I posted on Facebook today ... it's good for a chuckle What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight?

Love the meme! Happy Easter! We are staying home and having ham, mashed potatoes, asparagus, corn on the cob and asparagus. I hope everyone has a great and blessed day! BTW - I was told a few weeks ago that this house was to old to get Easter baskets. I bought everything but didn’t put them out. The youngest woke us this morning. I put The baskets together and put them on the kitchen island. They were nabbed within a minute. And I was profusely thanked for being the Easter bunny.

It is Palm Sunday for the Orthodox community so I'm grilling tuna tonight. It is TBD whether I'll make a Salad Nicoise with it or grill vegetables.
Happy Easter to anyone celebrating today!

Glorious Easter weather here so we are grilling out mid-afternoon. We're having grouper, lobster tails and crab cakes. I also bought some shrimp for shrimp cocktail. Making a potatoes au gratin and serving a green bean almondine I picked up at the deli counter. Dessert is strawberry shortcake served on Angel Food cake.
Happy Easter to all those who observe it today!

Lasagna.....DD hardly ate anything, poor thing. She’s running a fever, so I’m a little bit stressed. I’m sick as well (Thank you DH, for generously sharing your germs. Impeccable timing!) and I really, really don’t have time for that this week.

We are leaving in about 30 minutes to pick up my mom and head to ds' school. I think dinner will be Outback and then we will head back home so DS can study for his final exam tomorrow.

Happy Easter / Passover everyone Our sweeet Sophie came home from hospital yesterday and is doing SO well....we are SO happy and thanking God! Aside from the JOY of having my baby back home, I'm embarrassed to admit I had a pity party earlier for 2 reasons: almost intolerable pain IN MY ANKLES now---what the HELL? My hands, lower back, knee, and hip were also bad, but that's NORMAL for me----but now, having my stupid ankles THROBBING....serrriously??? Tomorrow, I am going to find out if my wonderful doc prescribes medical marijuana and ask her if she thinks it could help me. I read a post here yesterday from peas that said marij. has STOPPED their pain.....omg, I'd be SO thankful !!!!!!!!!! The second reason for my "pity party, table for one" is that I'm missing our families and all the FUN Easters we always had. Some years, we had DH's family AND my side of the family over, and....what a BLAST....especially with all the cute kiddos !!! BUT....to get over my self-pity, I'm thinking of taking a whole bunch of pretty cookies to the nursing home(s) where I used to volunteer and visit some sweet residents who are in MUCH worse agony than me, and ALSO missing their families It breaks my heart that SIXTY PERCENT of nursing home residents get NO VISITORS....EVER.....
Aside from that, I'd LOVE to take Meaty or Sophie along to the nursing homes like I used to. OMG, the JOY on the residents' faces is the BEST. GIFT. EVERRRR I just physically cannot handle them anymore---BUT----one day, I WILL do it again! I also DEFINITELY considered going to church, but.....I didn't (DH won't go, but I have no prob going alone; I always have!) I DO thank God every single day for my DH, doggies, family, friends, comfy/beautiful home, etc.

Big dinner party for my mom’s 90th birthday tonight. We have a room at a Chinese restaurant. I admit, we didn’t really realize it was Easter when we scheduled it (we don’t celebrate) and a few of her friends couldn’t make it. But we’ll still have 35 people there. Mostly her descendants/other family. Happy Easter to all of you Easter celebraters!

We just arrived home after spending the weekend with DS. Traffic was really light so we made it in about an hour and 35 minutes. Our azaleas and other blooming plants greeted us in their full glory. Happy spring! This is the first day that it doesn't hurt when I swallow! Still have a cough/tickle in my throat but at least the horrible pain is gone. I'm grilling a couple of steaks for dinner with the usual sides.

If it’s legal in your state you might have access to way better things than I do. If you were here I’d share my cream with you. It really is good stuff!

Easter is just another Sunday our house. We don't have kids and we don't attend church. But, Happy Easter to those who celebrate.
Speaking of celebrations, happy birthday to lucyg's mom. It was sweet of you to pull all that together.
We went out to breakfast this morning and then I went to Lowes and bought some flowers for beds around the house. I'm a happy girl to be playing in the dirt today under warm and sunny skies.
DH didn't eat his steak last night, so he'll enjoy it this evening. I made a quiche that we can work on during the week. I'm just snacking tonight.

Just a chill Easter day here for us. I did get some tomato plants planted and start cleaning off the patio for the summer. Dinner tonight is from scratch personal pizzas and a big Caesar salad. I made a Keylime pie for dessert. All weight watcher recipes. Ollie and Grady are our stand in Easter Bunnies.

We had our traditional egg hunt and Easter brunch at my dad and stepmum's house. I ate a lot, and was still full at dinner time so I didn't actually eat dinner. And because I wasn't eating, I wasn't cooking so DSO and DS just had Hungry Jacks burgers. This was (some of) our brunch: Eggs, bacon and sausages cooked on the barbie Cheese and spinach quiche with a cheese cracker base And the pièce de résistance, the dish I wait all year for...... quail egg and pancetta tart

I spent most of Easter Sunday with my son and his family. We started with church, then back to their place for lunch. We had Greek marinated lamb and chicken with Greek salad, wraps and dips. Dessert was Hot Cross Bun ice cream sandwiches. After lunch, my aunt visited for afternoon tea, and then my son drove me to stay overnight with my sister. In an hour, I am heading to the airport to fly to Canberra to visit my second son. And to brighten your day, a picture of our little Easter Bunny.

An easy drive home just makes it better. scrappintoee , I hope that your doctor can give you the info that you need.
sueg, Little Sophie is just beautiful. I love her expression.
Tonight dh will have chicken tenders, steamed rice and peas. It's the perfect take-to-work lunch, sans peas. Happy Easter to those who celebrate and Pesach Sameach to those who celebrate.
