Damn, I was just about ready for bed! Me too. And I know I shouldn't have responded (being a Brit and all) but the Trump Crap and Brexit Crap are jointly making me lose my mind. trump is an international problem so you have every right to respond!

I'm just here for the freshly slaughtered newborns. Does anyone have a recipe or wine pairing to recommend? This has to be the most disgusting thing I've ever read on this board. It doesn't mater wether you're pro or anti, abortion is no joking matter. Obvious sarcasm was obvious. Abortion is no joking matter but the fake news about Dems trying to legalise killing newborns should not fall under the abortion debate. That's ridiculous. Just like recipes or wine pairings to go with a newborn roast ought to be.

Can someone tell me how to post a gif here? Where is SockMonkey , queen of gifs? This thread is calling out for them. Use the photo button and paste the url for the gif there [Note: If you're using giphy, you'll want to click "copy link" and then copy the gif url (not short url, it doesn't seem to work).]

It's a nice number but how many of them were ceremonial (award medals, designate special days, authorize commemorative coins or otherwise memorialize historic events). Ceremonial would also include renaming a building or a post office after someone like John McCain. Do you have an infirmity that precludes you from finding it out yourself? No, do you have an infirmity that precludes you giving a substational answer to the original question? Even though I hate democrats with a passion that knows no bounds I'll give them their due when warrented. Legislation passed with a majority of bipartisan support included the First Step Act, an overhaul of the federal criminal justice system; a new five-year farm bill; a law intended to address the opioid crisis by, among other things, expanding the availability of addiction treatment; the Music Modernization Act, which rewrote music copyright and royalty rules for the digital age; a sanctions bill targeting Russia, Iran and North Korea; a bill overhauling and extending veterans’ educational benefits; and the first comprehensive NASA authorization bill in more than six years.

Anything red goes well with fresh meat. ETA: The OP, not the newborns. Debbie-f bourguignon? To be honest, doesn't sound like the most tender or juicy meat despite being very fresh at the market stall. Back to brainstorming a newborn roast dinner. Where's my copy of Cooking With the Cordon Bleu Dems again? But the pickins are slim. I gotta work with what I got.

It doesn't mater wether you're pro or anti, abortion is no joking matter. Many of us would also find that, when a baby is born with no chance of survival, even with expert medical intervention and is allowed to die with dignity is referred to as the " killing of new born babies" is equally as disgusting.

Exactly. The cry of propaganda-spouting outrage like we're in some sort of dark Grimm tale of gratuitous infanticide is disgusting.

.... done in the last two years other than talk about Trump and the Russian collusion? What have they done for the American people? They’ve done plenty to help and encourage non-Americans to cross the border illegally. They have fought for the legalization of killing a full-term newborn after birth. They have encouraged people to stand up against the conservatives and harass them. What have they done for the people of the United States other than spending $40 Million to get back at Trump for winning the election? Please keep your comments focused on the Democrats and what they have done for our country. Please don’t post about what Trump has or has not done. The question is what have the Democrats achieved in the last two years. Obviously you are new around here based on the bolded.

Really?? Democrats fight for the legalization of killing a full-term newborn after birth? Reallllllyyyyyyyy??? I can think of NO ONE who wants that.

To quote perhaps my favorite response from the Town Halls last night.... “I’m not a master fisherman, but I know bait when I see it. And I’m not going to take it.” My gut tells me you will not change her mind, so why waste the energy 🤷🏻♀️ This. Same shit, different name.

I also find it quite disgusting that you can across the board hate an entire group of people with a passion that knows no bounds. Do you really have no friends or family members who are Democrats? I despise Trump with a passion that knows no bounds, simply because I think he is a despicable human who is damaging our country. But do I hate all Republicans? No. I once identified as one. I hate those who enable him to do the shit he is doing. But, I have lots of friends and loved ones who are staunch Republicans. Two of my favorite people in the whole world are my gay brother and his partner of 30 years who are very Republican, Trump supporters. I do not hate them. I could go on and on. I still think what you said is gross.

Typical R. You cook the meal, they make a mess at the table, they demand you clean up. And then get all bitchy about it. And we’re the snowflakes.

The Democrats succeeded in passing this: congress.gov: S.311 The "Born Alive" BillWherein it states: "To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion." I think the pertinent question is why does surviving an abortion suddenly entitle a child to life? The difference is literally "inside" vs "outside". It's still a baby, however, if it's killed inside than it's just an abortion.

But with all the cuts to access to affordable healthcare, food, birth control, postnatal care, mental health care, and LEGAL abortions, that the REPUBLICANS ARE IMPLEMENTING RIGHT NOW we may just be headed for an increase in infanticide numbers. Not done by doctors, but by parents.

Democrats won back the House of Representatives by a resounding majority creating the most diverse and representative governing body we have ever had in our country's history. They elected a speaker who can actually get things done as opposed to the Republican's parade of speakers with dismal achievement records.

I can tell you what the Democrats didn’t do.
* They didn’t set out to dismantle the ACA without a replacement. I saw the trend of more people getting health care insurance has been reversed these last 2 years to where a million fewer people have health care insurance then before. *. They didn’t pass a tax cut that is on its way to bankrupting this country.
* They didn’t pull this country out of the Paris Climate Agreement
*. They didn’t pull us out of the agreement with Russia on nuclear arms.
* They didn’t pull us out of the deal with Iran even though Iran was adhering to the terms of the deal.
* They didn’t put on unnecessary tariffs on imported goods that are hurting not only the consumers in the US, but US citizens who export goods and are subject to retaliatory tariffs from other countries.
*. They didn’t gut the expertise out of the State Department.
* They didn’t gut the expertise out of the DOJ or the FBI.
* They didn’t gut the expertise out of the EPA and set about dismantling the protections put in place to protect our air, our water, and the land we build on.
* They aren’t attacking our National Parks and our coasts by opening them up for unnecessary drilling and mining.
* They didn’t gut the consumer protections put into place to protect “the little guy”.
* They didn’t put mean spirited restrictions on some of our safety nets that only hurt those who can least afford it.
* They didn’t embarrass this country in front of the rest of the world.
* They didn’t damage our relationships with our allies.
* They didn’t get these weird fixations on the brutal dictators in this world. Or let one make a fool of the President of the United States.
* And they didn’t dumb down the Office of the President.
But we all know who did do all of this and a lot more besides. These actions taken by “you know who”, are not only damaging to the country, but to individual folks in this country as well. The actions taken by “you know who” are also damaging to our reputation and standing in the world.
Which would mean that pretty much anything the Democrats do, won’t be as damaging as what was done by “you know who”.
