What are gelatos supposed to be used for?
I think they are supposed to be multi-purpose and magical...lol. I've seen people colour chipboard with them, but whenever I do it, it just ends up looking like I used lipstick to do my colouring. I've also seen people paint gesso on a page and then sort of smear the gelato colour over the top with a baby wipe. Apparently you can also use them to make spray mists. I think for me it comes down to the fact that I'm just not all that good at mixed media, so I don't do well with using them.
I've enjoyed following this thread. I have to defend the Fuse. I have never, ever made custom project life pages with them, and cannot imagine that would be anything but a huge pain in the butt, but I really like the ability to seal pockets shut. I have done that quite a few times on old WRMK and Simple Stories page protectors that had really big openings that things would slip out of. I want to use it for sequin and sand pockets as well. I found that the key is to heat it up really well before using it. A good five to ten minutes seems to work. I usually do a big batch of fusing when I am done an album and then do the final flip through to see what starts poking out or slipping out of the pockets.

The original Cinch. I was going to make so many albums and books with it!! I have only made a couple.
I found the Heidi Swapp Cinch on clearance at Michael's a few years ago for $27. I bought it because it makes round holes and it was a crazy good deal. I have actually used that one a lot more.

A set of tiny alphabet stamps (kinda like what was mentioned in the OP, except mine are not shaped like typewriter keys). I do a lot of stamping (cards, LOs) and bought it thinking I'd use it for stamping words or small journaling titles on my scrapbook pages. Yeah, the letters were so small they were a pain to line up properly, so I didn't use them much...and then I got a Cameo, which I use to make pretty much all my titles and embellishment words now. Or I just print stuff. I learned my lesson and save the stamping for images that I can't draw/write on my own, LOL!
I also may or may not have a set of gelatos that I've tried (in vain) to use in a way that makes the results look like something other than a child's drawing/coloring. I'll have to try the watercolor technique mentioned above. I do use watercolors, mists, and inks quite a bit with fairly good results (I'm happy with them, at least, LOL) - just can't quite get the gelatos to come out looking good.

Izinks. They're bright coloured inks in eye dropper bottles. I have some of these - thought I would make my own sprays, but it didn't work well. But they do work well for painting and splattering, so I cannot say I don't use them. Yay! I bought a stamp positioner that I never opened. Too much hassle, and then the stamp platforms hit the market. Stamps are underused, but I think I have at least used once every set I've ever purchased. Stencils and Embossing folders are my problem. Several have never been opened. I buy them rarely because I KNOW they don't get used, but why do I love them so???

Foiling stuff. I'm not sure where my head was. I don't even care for the shiny effect.

Just got a Sneak Peek e-mail from Karen Burniston, and immediately wanted to order a bunch of her new dies, until I remembered I have yet to use at least two of the last ones I "had to have"...

Mine was the original Cricut. At the time 2”-3” alpha die cuts were really popular in the magazine layouts but were hard to find at my LSSs. So I thought it would be great to be able to make letters in any size or color that I wanted. I used my Cricut a few times but I just found the whole sizing process on the machine to be a big PITA. I ended up giving it away to a friend. Giant alphas went out of style and I just bought Heidi Swapp chipboard letters.

Mine is the Cinch, but I've convinced myself that it's going to come in handy eventually when I want to bind something badly enough.

I'm afraid to read the whole thread, because it would probably remind me of things to add to the list, but.....
The Fuse
Some stamps
Some dies
Some punches
Chipboard albums
Mini album kits
Page kits
Some Cricut cartridges
Lots of Silhouette designs
Some papers
However, despite my huge list, that doesn't mean they will never get used. I had to take a huge break in scrapbooking and paper crafting due to renovations, moving, and multiple family challenges. I am trying to get back to more scrapping and crafting, so there is still hope for all of it.

I have a bunch of stuff that I haven't used --- yet! I plan on retiring soon and playing with paper is going to be my "go to" activity - so I'm hoping to put all of those really good purchased to excellent use! Probably everything in my surround will be gold foiled, cut into pieces and shapes, watercolored and shaded all artistic and all, and "cinched" into books!
I can hardly wait!

The cinch for sure. I should take it into school one day and let the kids go crazy with whatever coils I have then donate the machine. I am sure someone would be happy to buy it from the thrift store, right?
The other thing I had to have was the Evolution die cut thing, never used it. Gave it away. I am just not a die cut person, I much prefer the cameo.

The Fuse here as well. I have used it a couple of time but just couldn’t get the hang of it and now I don’t do much pocket scrapping anymore.

Around The Block Paper Tagger. I can't imagine what I ever thought I would use it for. One of my kids did use it on their science fair board one year, so it did get used once.

For me, it's the vast majority of my distress inks and oxides. I spent so much money, and they just sat in drawers. I finally just took them to the thrift store today, except for 2 inks that are useful to me. It actually is a weight off my shoulders to be rid of them -- they took up a lot of mental and physical space, it seems.

What are gelatos supposed to be used for?
I think they are supposed to be multi-purpose and magical...lol. This made me chuckle! I got a free! single gelato in some foul shade of green with a scrapbook dot com order. I never even tried to find out how to use them. There was no way they were going to bait me into spending a fortune on a new coloring medium I didn't even want.

Relate to so much of the things mentioned: gelatos, Scan & Cut (that I just had to have, and have used exactly 6 times in 2 years), sewing machine, fuse tool, & I'd add the Lindy's magical shakers. I wanted them so much, got a set as a christmas gift in 2017 and have not opened a single one.
My only saving grace, is in the last week, I've actually used both my sewing machine & my fuse tool on a pocket page layout. I was really happy with how it turned out too. I think it's time to break out the magical shakers and maybe even my Scan & Cut. The gelatos just need to go. I don't like them at all.

I got a Cuttlebug for this past Christmas and haven't used it yet. I dragged it with me to an Expo this past spring so I could experiment, but haven't used it at all. I don't make cards, so I feel like it was probably a waste...

I do feel like this is a challenge. I've used pretty much every tool I've bought, but some stamps still sit unused. Still, some of the tools could get more use. I think I might pull out some un/under used items and challenge myself to make a few things so I don't feel like it's a wasted purchase. Mostly, I keep thinking when I retire I'll have all the time in the world to experiment with my supplies. However, best laid plans and all that...

I'll see your gelatoes, Nuvo Drops and Minc... and raise you the Perfect Layers ruler set (I think that's what it was called?). I just could.not get the hang of it and after slicing in to the ruler with the xacto knife, I chucked the thing in to a drawer....

How much time do you have?
A couple of things that come to mind...
Most of the Stamps that I have (I have used a few though, so not all of them)
The SU! Envelope maker/punch thingy. I was gonna save TONS of money by making my own envelopes... yeah... no...
The Large sized Scor-Pal. I got the travel size and sold the big 'un!!
Flocking, foil, anything that takes extra tools! LOL
