I know I am eight hours early, but JULY starts tomorrow. I feel like we've only just started the hot weather.

My store was supposed to get a truck and doesn't know why they didn't. The manager had to send her staff home because there wasn't anything for them to do. She says they might get a truck tomorrow, they might not...so I'm definitely going to be calling before making the trip. This is my closer store, but still...dragging my kids out is a pain (they only want to do what they want to do unless they get something out of it...selfless, they are not) so I don't want to show up to the same store two days in a row and them have nothing new to look at. Last time this happened (the truck broke down, so at least they knew what was going on) my Mom was here, so I didn't have to take the kids at all. This time, the kids are going to have to learn a bit of patience.

My stores got their deliveries yesterday as normal. As I was perusing the aisle, the manager stopped me to tell me they are moving the craft aisle to a different area. She said they were going from one aisle with 7 slots to a "valley." That means that they will get both sides of the aisle for just craft. They need it. It is all squished into 7 slots and they need a lot more space. The manger said they are anticipating double the craft sale with this move. We talked for almost a half an hour about the move and I shared my thoughts as a left brained organizer. I talked about space, like items, how to keep people from tearing stuff off of the pegs, how to use the longer arms on the lower shelves and paper storage. She showed me some storage furniture they have in back and what items she could store on them. They currently have half of their sticker books on arms/pegs and they end up everywhere. They need to be sorted like the paper so people won't throw them around. She laughed at me knowing the craft numbers/arrival dates etc. I have talked to her for years, but never quite like this. She showed me pictures on her phone of other stores and the way they have their papers stored. This store has 10 times the paper of the store that she showed me and it just didn't seem practical at all. I was just at the Denver store last week and it had less than half of what this store carries. The manager said she knows nothing about crafts and wanted to hear from a shopper. She said she just found out that they get almost all of their crafts from Utah. I told her about the Mormons and she said she just learned that too. She said she was probably going to have to do most of the move herself since most days she normally gets one cashier and herself to man the store. I told her to do it on their slowest day and she laughed and said their slowest day is usually Tuesday and that is the day the craft aisle is the busiest. Glad I am not her.

My store got in their truck today but either the person they are borrowing from the other store who is a crafter bought almost everything or they didn't get much craft in other than a ton of Prima-esque type flowers that I had no interest in. All I got was a DCWV Fall Basics paper pad (I missed out on the DCWV fall lines I really wanted from Joann's last year and I think this might have been one of them...hoping they get the paper pad that goes with it, too...if this is the one I thought it was) and a set of Thickers that is Halloween themed (a matte gold foil on top of black foam). They expanded the crafting aisles a couple of weeks ago and they're still working on spreading things out, so older stuff is getting mixed in with the new AND they've gone back to sticking new stuff in the aisles and not on an endcap, neither of which left me with much confidence that I didn't miss anything when I left. Oh well, if it didn't jump out at me, new or not then I didn't need it, did I?
Fall stuffs trickling in is making me both excited and nervous. I just did a pretty decent purge (not as deep as I could have gone, but good enough for the time I dedicated to it) in May. I managed to get rid of about a third of the overcrowded cubbie in my Kallax of Christmas stuff, but I didn't manage to part with much from my now spilling into other areas cubbie of fall stuff. It is my favorite season and I still love 90%+ (and like the rest) of what I have. I restrict my spending on Christmas stuff more because I struggle more to use it. As pretty as it all is, I just don't enjoy using Christmas product the way I do fall stuff. I think it's because we don't do a lot of SPECIFICALLY Christmas things during the holiday season while fall encompasses an entire season rather than just a single day. As a result, I LOVE shopping for fall products and as much I love using it and do use it, I don't make a dent because I keep adding to the stash. But then...the prospect of putting a ban on buying more until I purge or use up some of what I have would legitimately make me sad. More sad than I will be frustrated by how impossible it is to put away any new products I end up buying. I'm excited to see what stuff TM gets (hoping for some new releases since it has been happening here and there) but also hoping it isn't so much that I end up starting new piles of things I don't know what to do with, haha.

I did learn today that the stores that sell the most craft stuff get special limited amount items. If Tuesday Morning buys a small amount of a specific item, it is only offered to their highest selling craft stores. One of my stores is in the top 10% of craft sales, so that is the reason they get some good items that so many other stores don't receive. Just thought I would pass that little nugget on.

I saw one of my store's stuff in carts and it was maybe 1 1/2 carts full. Sometimes it is up to four carts full, so this week was less than normal. Also half of the stuff was the PL boxes and boxes of maybe markers in large clear snap boxes.

I visited TM this afternoon. I went to return a few items. Then I gave them more money than they gave me because I bought some scrappy and non-scrappy items.
Maggie Holmes gold leaf trim #2112726 from the Flourish line Chipboard stickers for (Carta Bella) Beach Day #2125656 Chipboard stickers for Good Day Sunshine (Echo Park) #2125659
All of them 1.99

I stopped very quickly yesterday (I don't have sku's, I'm at work), but I got some Heidi Swapp 4x4 page protectors with 4 clear inserts with gold writing on them ($1.49), small Project Life page protectors for $1.99 each, Echo Park chipboard for 4 different lines at $1.99 each. Our store has a TON of paper stacks.

I posted this in the June TM thread, but I'll post it here, too: If anyone comes across a Project Life Click kit (square corners), I really would like one -- just let me know price plus shipping, etc.

There is a ton at our TM. I'll stop on my way home and check. IF I don't reach out to you, it wasn't there.

I stopped in yesterday in my not so local TM as I am Impatiently waiting for the one near me to open still, and picked up the pebbles halloween stack with matching stickers, echo park happy birthday with llamas and unicorns set and also the boy happy birthday, several of the project life pocket pages styles and envelope pages. This TM has a very large scrapbooking section but it had a lot of old to me stuff and the usually put the new stuff on an end cap.

After watching the YouTube people, they all said it was slim pickings this week. Since my TM is light on the crafting section anyways not sure it's worth the drive. Living in a large city and having only one TM, when the good stuff comes in it’s scooped up in minutes. If there’s 10 people shopping in the store 9 are in the crafting section

I’ve been looking at 3 of them at my local Store but I don’t want them enough to pay $16.99 lol maybe they’ll have a % off clearance sale for the 4th

I found a Click box! The box was torn, but it looks like the cards are okay. If anyone wants to split it with me (I only need 1/4 or 1/3 of the cards, there are so many), let me know. Otherwise, I can just send you the whole box for what it cost me plus shipping. The box is heavy, just over 2 lbs. Shipping will be as much or more than what the box costs!

After reading that the top 10% stores get the limited “good stuff”, I asked the store manager at my store here in San Jose if it was true and where her store ranked. San Jose is #2 in the nation and yes she gets the cream of the crop when it comes to craft supplies. Reason I never find anything? There is a pack of ladies who are there every Wednesday morning (that’s when the truck arrives) when the store opens. The store employees unpack the craft stuff first and it’s all out by 10:30. The good stuff doesn’t even make it on to the pegs or shelves. This morning one lady had a shopping cart full by 10:15. So then good news is my TM gets the good limited stuff but the bad news is you have to be an early bird to get it.

My TM store doesn't let people shop the carts, they make you wait till it is all put away.

Found the matching DCWV paper pad at another TM today, so I'm happy about that. Maybe they'll end up with the 6x6 pads at some point, too. Nice to have a break in the high spending that tends to come with shopping at TM lately, but also disappointing when I'm used to finding a bunch of exciting things every week.
