Has anyone spotted any D-ring albums at TM recently?? Yes, my store had 4 Project Life albums with various page protectors for $6.99. They were black with label holders on the spine. Thanks! Going to stop there before I order- I need a bunch. Lol

My TM store doesn't let people shop the carts, they make you wait till it is all put away. It really depends on the store. Once recently, my preferred store was slower to get the crafty stuff out, and they were happy to let me look through the carts since it meant less for them to put on the shelves. Another store refuses to let me even peek at the carts, and they put the craft stuff out last. Since they are slow at getting it on the shelves, I never know when to go to that store. A friend of mine got some great Crafter's Companion dies for me, which never showed up at any of the stores near me. I mostly just visit one store, which is near Costco. I stop at the TM every time I go to Costco. I have gotten pretty lucky in the past, and I am starting to seriously think I need to stop shopping at TM, though. My craft stash is overflowing as it is.

Sorry, one last thing. Does your TM ever seem to think you should be grateful for getting their items at such a good price? My TM constantly says stuff like, "Oh I can't believe this is blah blah price...your practially getting this for free..." "Wow! Aren't you lucky, to be able to get this for this price..." And it is not just one person, seems to be pretty consistant. They say it about everything, not just craft stuff. I wonder if the mgr says to say that? So weird and uncomfortable.
ETA I really have a love/hate relationship with TM.

You are shopping at a store, not a garage sale. TM sets the prices! How strange.

One time the manager did ask me what to do with a product, she is a scrapbooker too but was not familiar with how to use whatever it was I was getting.

Ugh! I think we go to the same store and I have the same issue. Frustrating but I’m glad when I do find stuff I like ☺️. I have serious scrapbook supply FOMO when it comes to Tuesday Morning. I hate the competitiveness of it all though. I’ve seen fights break out there and it ain’t pretty! After reading that the top 10% stores get the limited “good stuff”, I asked the store manager at my store here in San Jose if it was true and where her store ranked. San Jose is #2 in the nation and yes she gets the cream of the crop when it comes to craft supplies. Reason I never find anything? There is a pack of ladies who are there every Wednesday morning (that’s when the truck arrives) when the store opens. The store employees unpack the craft stuff first and it’s all out by 10:30. The good stuff doesn’t even make it on to the pegs or shelves. This morning one lady had a shopping cart full by 10:15. So then good news is my TM gets the good limited stuff but the bad news is you have to be an early bird to get it.

I hate the competitiveness of it all though. I’ve seen fights break out there and it ain’t pretty! The San Jose store is big, well stocked and clean. Since they get the good stuff I can wait for the second round to come in. There’s nothing I have to have to get in a fight over. I went to the Redwood City store to check it out and it’s like what the old TM around here use to be like. Dark, felt dirty and old inventory. The crafting section is really small too.

That’s good to know. I just assumed all the Tuesday morning stores were as well stocked as the San Jose one.

That’s good to know. I just assumed all the Tuesday morning stores were as well stocked as the San Jose one. No. I don't know how it works, but there are TM stores that consistently get more craft items than others in the same general area. I suspect it depends on what the customers that frequent each store tend to buy. Recently I went to one that had practically nothing in their craft aisle. I asked the gal at the register if they had customers who just bought all the craft stuff when it hit the shelves, or if they just didn't get much. She said they just got next to nothing craft related at "her" store. I used to live in Northern Virginia. The store that was nearest me rarely got anything good craft-wise. There was a store 45 minutes away that did, but it was a long way to drive just to take a chance. Now I live in the DFW area. There are a lot of TM's here. I have learned which store nearest me is most likely to be worth a visit. It consistently has a lot on the craft aisle.

I made my usual run to Costco and TM (Ft. Worth, just off I-35W) this morning. If anyone is looking for Project Life, they had a TON of kits and 4 black 12x12 D-ring albums.

I posted this in the June TM thread, but I'll post it here, too: If anyone comes across a Project Life Click kit (square corners), I really would like one -- just let me know price plus shipping, etc. I am keeping my eyes peeled for that one too, so if my TM has two, I will grab them! I’m also looking for this one! I hope mine gets it

I doubt my TM is in the top 10% since it’s medium sized. Its in an industrial complex on a side street. I always figured they didn’t have the good stuff because the resellers were grabbing it all but maybe the store just doesn’t get it in the first place. They do have a craft aisle but scrapping and stamping have to share with knitting and various coloring media.

One of my stores has (now) both sides of the aisle, another one has maybe 5-6 sections (of the old fixtures), and the other one has both sides of a shorter aisle with stationery in it. They really do vary. I was in one in Florida in December and they had no scrapbooking supplies. When I asked the clerk, she pointed me to a very small shelf of stationery.

I recently pulled a box of 40-50 layouts out of storage that I apparently never put in albums. They're from my prima DT days so bulky and I think D-ring is the only way to go. I don't use that much bulk anymore since my style changed which is good because now I'm like... They're so bulky! Lol

Because of this thread, I shopped my local TM last week. Lots of scrappy stuff! Many full Project Life kits. I think they were originally $30? $9.99 at my TM.

It was the motherload of Project Life at my TM today, but sadly no Click. The selection was the biggest I have seen in years. There were 4 black albums for $6.99 each, page protectors galore in many configurations for $2.99 each, piles and piles of kits for $6.99, the branded corner rounder. It was crazy. I was going to scrapbook in a different size, but at this price, 12x12 will do.

I've never had that experience at my TM. The only odd behavior I've seen is one employee complained about being called in early and stared daggers at the person who I'm guessing called her in. All I did was compliment her on her bangs and conversation took a turn quickly. They also offer to let me shop from the cart.

They are discount stores and are supposed to be selling everything at a discounted price. I would really want to turn around and say aren't you glad I shop here since this stuff is a few years old?

I was at my store yesterday. Got 2 cloth 12X12 PL albums for $6.99 and a few packs of page protectors. I also got a ton of thickers - including some gold Halloween sayings, which I love.
The manager told me to expect a big crafting email to go out on the 3rd of August!

ETA I really have a love/hate relationship with TM. No, I don't think I've ever encountered that! Not that I've noticed anyway. They're not too chatty at my store. Maybe they're just trying to emphasize how discounted everything is so you'll feel great about getting stuff for a steal even though you just spent $x on stuff you probably didn't need. Maybe that works on some people - that's why they put the original price on sale stickers after all. Maybe some people hear that and figure they're getting such a good deal they should go back and get more. But yeah, TM bought it for pennies on the dollar and is selling it for a decent profit. They're not doing the customer a favor! Not any more than any other store that sells stuff people want for a price they're willing to pay.
