My current glasses are making me crazy--the lenses are all scratched up and it's bothering my vision. I need a pair to tide me over until my next eye exam sometime in the Spring. I remember reading about online sources for glasses...I can't find the thread now, of course. Any suggestions? Any place that you've tried that you've loved? If the deals are any good, I'm even considering getting a pair or RX sunglasses. I lost my other ones...ugh! TIA!

I bought from Zenni Optical. I got a pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses for about $25 shipped two years ago.

Thanks for asking this question. I'm interested, too.
Can I also hijack? How do you order? My OD takes a lot of measurements to make sure the frames and lens' are right for me. Do you just send them your prescription, pick out frames, type in your credit card number and Viola! you have new glasses in a week? Also how old (or new) can the Rx have to be?

No idea about the measurements for the frames, but I know, at least on our insurance, my glasses RX is valid for 2 years. I'm at about 18 months into this RX so I'm ok for now. I'm assuming that for the rest, you just pick 'em out and pay for them and voila! New glasses.

I don't think it can possibly be as exacting as when dealing face to face with an optical person. However I ordered from Glasses USA and am very happy. The sites will guide you through the process.

I have ordered from Zenni & firmoo and have been happy with glasses from both places. Before ordering, google for coupon codes. I think my first pair from Firmoo was about $13. Both stores has information about measuring your glasses to get the right size and correct lenses.

I've used Zenni and recommend them to everybody. You will need the prescription from your eye doctor. And, you'll need the Dr to measure your PD (pupil distance). That's the distance between your pupils when looking straight ahead. You will need the bow length. You can get that by measuring your current glasses.
I got my son the ones that change when in the sun. His were $35, which included the shipping. I got prescription sunglasses for $21, including shipping.
