Does anyone else lose motivation from time to time? The past 10-12 days I just haven’t felt like crafting. I usually love to sit in my studio and work on scrapbook pages and cards but I just can’t bring myself to do it!
Tonight I’m forcing myself to work on a Magic Kingdom layout that’s been sitting on my desk since the end of June. Maybe I’ll finally make some progress. I’m using some older Stampin’ Up! paper that is red and aqua diagonal stripes and it’s perfect for Disney photos! The paper has to be from 2010-2012ish? I also pulled out some old red and cream products from Teresa Collins that match the paper.

I’ve been like that for months. I think I made 3 pages since February. I just sit here and look at the stuff then go back to playing a dumb game on my iPad and watch stupid television
Im going to try making cards for soldiers...maybe that will get me back into the swing of it.
Good luck with your layout!

Yeah, I think it's a problem for most creative people. It's not really something you can force, for the most part. Maybe you just need a break? I go in cycles with all of my hobbies. I'll switch to another project and get something else done, then try whatever I was doing again, see if I'm more in the mood.
Sometimes there's actually something blocking me and the break makes me realize that there was a problem that needed solving before I could start. I'll have a brainwave and suddenly I can see the way forward.

Maybe you could put that layout out of sight and pick a photo you love to inspire you.

I've been in a funk for months! My PL was last touched in Feb. (Although all my photos are printed and in order, I guess it's something). I have been thinking about layouts. I guess that's a first step. I just have to go beyond that now...

I’m working on the layout and just spent the last 45 minutes looking for a pack of Studio Calico white die cut vellum stars that I know I have somewhere... and I can’t find them. Sigh. On to Plan B.

I've been in a funk since about March. To remedy this, my best friend and I are planning to get together for scrapping and mimosas on Saturday. Who knows if we will get any scrapping done! 😂😂

I've spent most of this year like that. Even though I kept reading here and watching scrappy videos and thinking about it pretty much daily I just felt blocked every time I sat down to create. It was finally some new photos that has got me creating again.
I hope you find your mojo soon.

Total funk here,2 months now. Part of it is the daylight and nice weather. Every year this happens because I don't want to be down in my "dungeon". And I can't say that I'm outside *enjoying* the weather a lot of the time either...I just don't want to be away from windows! I think I only created 4 layouts in June? And I've only finished 2 this month so far...

So I gave it a go last night. I picked the most simple layout I saved on Instagram to scrap lift and worked with the collection sitting on my desk. It took me an hour to pick and cut 7 pieces of pp to put in a grid....from a collection! Ha!
I got about half way done and will try to finish it up tonight.

When I am in a slump, I deep clean my scrap area. I sort through my papers and do a purge of papers I don't love anymore. Usually I find some papers I forgot about that I love. I find photos to use with those papers and go. I also will find a layout I love to scraplift. kitbop I can't be away from windows, either. DH and I are discussing what we want in a townhouse when we move next year. I want to take over the family room in a finished basement as my craft space. No windows is a deal breaker.

I'm in a bit of a scrapping funk, too. I did add a few bits and bobs to a couple in progress layouts last night, but nothing too inspired.
I'm overwhelmed and stressed and it really hinders any creative process. All I can think about is what needs to get done, and what hasn't been done yet, and it's hard to put those thoughts aside to scrapbook.
I'm also waiting for my ACOT preorder to ship. I have Pride fest photos and dinosaur museum photos just waiting for it.

I've been in a bit of a funk as well - I think partly because I've been so busy at work and home that when it comes to Sunday I just want to rest and do nothing, not even scrapping. Also feeling quite stressed about various situations and as LavenderLayoutLady says, that tends to sap any creative processes as well.

I have from time to time. That’s one reason I don’t scrap chronologically. I need whatever I am scrapping to inspire me. If it’s not something that sparks interest at the time, the LO will be a struggle.

I've been struggling with scrapping since spring began. Since I don't have a lot of time to devote to it, I just don't do anything at all.
I've been to a few crops and I make good progress while I'm there. But I just can't seem do it in little bites at my table at home.
Scrapping seems to be a better winter activity for me.

I haven't scrapped since mid-June...partly because I've been busy with other things but partly because it's just not calling to me right now. I have time today and tomorrow to scrap but...all I've accomplished is sorting printed photos into layouts (two trips plus May/June/July pics)

Inspiration comes in cycles, it's not a constant. I'd concur on the suggestion of cleaning up and organizing - doing something else (while still feeling 'productive') can really help. You're allowed downtime, you're allowed to shift your focus. Take time to rest.

That’s one reason I don’t scrap chronologically. I need whatever I am scrapping to inspire me. Absolutely amen to this! I could never. ever. force myself to scrap a photo/story that wasn't speaking to me at the time. And it's why a new batch of photos often will help break me out of a slump I haven't scrapped since mid-June.. \ You have been the queen of consistent production Linda...I guess you need the break!

Absolutely. I usually find that when my schedule & commitments ease up and I have the time and space for getting creative... my mojo disappears. And then inevitably, when I'm super busy and have little to no time available for scrapbooking, my head is bursting with ideas and my hands just want to play. I'm now trying to make notes and sketches when my head is overflowing with ideas so that I can pick those up later when I have time. But usually when I hit that slump I start off with a little bit of organisation or photo printing, and then kicking my creativity back into gear by making layouts based on sketches, scraplifts or something like the RTS 4x4 series. I find that by taking out some of the decision making processes involved in making something I am able to start creating in the absence of inspiration which then seems to jolt my creative mojo back into action (usually!).

Umm like the past 10 years. I have to be in a good mood for scrapping. Playing with paper usually helps. Doing something not related to scrapping people. I'll start a mini album, decorate a notebook, make a card, or something like that where I don't have to think much.

Same. I turn on the TV in my room, and end up moving to the comfy chair to watch what I put on, instead of working on things and having the TV as background. I do A LOT of cleaning, re-organizing, purging instead of actually doing something. I think most of my issue is 1) not having prints printed. When they are printed they are easier to play with, instead I have to decide which ones to print, print, and then I've lost interest. I print at home. 2) I make cards but have no one to send them too, so I've stopped because I have over a 100 and nothing to do with them.

I love your page, that came out wonderful!
I go through times where I don't scrap as much. Sometimes I just go flip through a few supplies-and that either satisfies me, or inspires me!

To combat the feeling of being trapped in one place, I move my stuff around: outside, living room, wherever I want to sit. I have a bag with the essential items and several different project bags that are easy to pick up and move with me. I can’t be cooped up in one room. I work off my lap, have for years. It works for getting little steps done regularly, which eventually adds up to good progress.
Often I am tired after work, but I tell myself to just do one thing. So I do one thing and once I’m actually playing with the stuff, the time often stretches into something quite creative and relaxing. If I waited around to feel like scrapping, I would never get much done. For me in crafting, the mood often comes after the action of getting started, not before.

Scrapbooking for me, seems to be "all or nothing".
I will work on pages every day(or whenever time permits) for a period of time, then nothing for a couple/few months.
I have been scrapbooking for 22+ years. I scrapbook chronologically. I find that certain "repeated" topic/events/photo ops tend to slow me down....like birthdays. Trying to come up with something different, so the birthday pages don't all look the same....especially if I been to three birthday gatherings in a row. Also, the more photos I have per event, gathering, photo op, etc... the slower I go, because coming up with ideas to make each page different takes time.
I recently finished scrapbooking a Halloween party. I took over 100 photos that night, since the hostess had asked me to "take lots of photos". There were so many good photos, I wanted to scrapbook them all. It was hard to eliminate any. I ended up doing 17 pages of my "favorite" photos.

Since I don't have a dedicated scrap space, it helps to do things in small steps like putting photos in page protectors and choosing sketches. Then I choose one thing at a time to do like pick papers, put the page together, add embellishments, and add diecuts. Sometimes it's overwhelming thinking of all the stuff I have to get out to make one thing!

Yes, I have been in a funk for about two weeks. During the work day I can't wait to be done so I can do something crafty to combat the utter boredom I feel while working, then when it is time to create, I don't know what to do. So I either watch Netflix or play games on my phone. When I do get back in my groove, I can finish a fair amount of cards. Today was such a day, I actually knocked out 31 cards. I don't know many people to send cards to, so I have been sending my extras to Bring Smiles to Seniors. I have been stacking the cards I don't need for personal use into a large flat rate post box, and it is almost full. Today was the day to try to get it filled. I am almost there :-)

I gave myself a list of 10 kits and layouts to work on and gave myself to end of June to get them done. It didn't work. Tomorrow and Friday I am going to a 16 hour crop and will get stuff done.
