trump saw the ABC Poll that had Biden, Warren, Sanders, Harris and Mayor Pete besting him by more than a few % points..
”In a hypothetical poll, done by one of the worst pollsters of them all, the Amazon Washington Post/ABC, which predicted I would lose to Crooked Hillary by 15 points (how did that work out?), Sleepy Joe, Pocahontas and virtually all others would beat me in the General Election....”
”This is a phony suppression poll, meant to build up their Democrat partners. I haven’t even started campaigning yet, and am constantly fighting Fake News like Russia, Russia, Russia. Look at North Carolina last night. Dan Bishop, down big in the Polls, WINS. Easier than 2016!”
There is a really strong argument that the Comey letter about nothing is why Hillary lost. A letter Comey felt he had to write because of FBI Agents in the NY office and who supported trump were going to leak the information in the letter about nothing. Which leads to the simple conclusion that trump needed help to win the election.

It doesn't appear to occur to Trump that there's a reason Democrats are smiling this morning, despite having lost. So close, so very close... Not sure McCready has the energy to start all over again. He has been campaigning for 27 months already. “Mr. Trump has not been bashful about his desire to avoid primaries or even elections,” said Mr. Weld. “He spoke admiringly of Xi Jinping getting rid of elections and talks about a third term for himself, which he has to know is not lawful. This is something that would be appropriate in a monarchy.” Arizona, Kansas, Nevada and South Carolina should revisit their decisions. And if Mr. Trump is as confident as he professes about his ability to win it all, he should welcome the competition.”trump the wimp welcome the competition??? Now that is funny. A second dt term would be the end of our democracy, he would not have to run for a third, there would likely be no election.... We've know for too long that he is a coward, he will pick fights with woman but not so much with strong men, certainly not in an election.

On 9/11 let's pause to remember (on this thread, not the other one) that Trump used it to pump up his f'ing real estate.

Cutting the Coast Guard torpedoes our national securityBY SETH CROPSEY, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR — 09/11/19 12:00 PM EDT ** They are America’s first and best protection against invasion, as central to containing distant crises as they are to projecting power within and beyond the Western Hemisphere. Ironically, the oldest of these services, the Coast Guard, is the most politically neglected and is on the chopping block today as Congress deliberates the fiscal year 2020 budget. ** The Coast Guard polices the 12,383 miles of U.S. coastline and port facilities. Nine-tenths of the world’s goods are carried by sea; the U.S. is the world’s second-largest exporter and largest importer of containerized cargo. The Coast Guard is the only service that inspects the 11 million maritime containers arriving in American ports. It is our most effective tool against the drug trade, too. While most drugs enter the U.S. by land, the large volume of production requires maritime transport from Colombia, Bolivia and Peru to Mexico; 80 percent of narcotics and, specifically, 90 percent of cocaine moves through the “Eastern Pacific Corridor” to Mexico’s western ports. In FY2017, the Coast Guard interdicted $6.6 billion worth of narcotics. (Two years earlier, then-Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Paul Zukunft noted that while intelligence can keep track of 80 percent of drugs arriving by sea, the nation only possesses enough vessels to prevent the entry of 20 percent of illegal drug arrivals.) The Coast Guard also patrols American territorial waters, particularly in the Pacific, serves as the primary maritime search-and-rescue organization, and assists with maritime-related disaster relief efforts. Historically, the Coast Guard has been used to meet other strategic needs as well. During World War II, Coast Guardsman served aboard landing craft in the Atlantic and Pacific and performed convoy and anti-submarine warfare missions; Coast Guard cutters were deployed to Vietnam, taking part in blockade operations and training the Republic of Vietnam’s navy. ** Long article at link: thehill.com/opinion/national-security/460844-cutting-the-coast-guard-torpedoes-our-national-securityOUR Coast Guard was 1st on scene in the Bahamas for rescues, surveying the area, and now recovery ... OUR Coast Guard has found more large amounts of drugs then any other agency.(A guess on my part) And of course rescues all along our coasts, emergencies/hurricanes or not. The pick up injured/sick passengers from all kids of boats/ships as needed.

Here seems to be the story. Dr. Jacobs was one of the political employees who would be fired. Guess he said yes, the president was right to save his job! WASHINGTON — The White House was directly involved in pressing a federal scientific agency to repudiate the weather forecasters who contradicted President Trump’s claim that Hurricane Dorian would probably strike Alabama, according to several people familiar with the events.Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, told Wilbur Ross, the commerce secretary, to have the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration publicly disavow the forecasters’ position that Alabama was not at risk. NOAA, which is part of the Commerce Department, issued an unsigned statement last Friday in response, saying that the Birmingham, Ala., office was wrong to dispute the president’s warning. In pressing NOAA’s acting administrator to take action, Mr. Ross warned that top employees at the agency could be fired if the situation was not addressed, The New York Times previously reported. Mr. Ross’s spokesman has denied that he threatened to fire anyone, and a senior administration official on Wednesday said Mr. Mulvaney did not tell the commerce secretary to make such a threat. ** Mr. Ross called Neil Jacobs, the acting administrator of NOAA, from Greece where the secretary was traveling for meetings, and instructed Dr. Jacobs to fix the agency’s perceived contradiction of the president, according to three people informed about the discussions. Dr. Jacobs objected to the demand and was told that the political appointees at NOAA would be fired if the situation was not fixed, according to the three individuals, who requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the episode. The political staff at an agency typically includes a handful of top officials, such as Dr. Jacobs, and their aides. They are appointed to their jobs by the administration currently in power, as opposed to career government employees, who remain in their jobs as administrations come and go. ** www.nytimes.com/2019/09/11/us/politics/trump-alabama-noaa.htmlLiars liars all!! Loyalty to dt. NOT loyalty to the citizens of the USA.

This Bolton news makes me giddy. Why? Because it gives me hope that the establishment (greedy) GOP is finally giving up on corralling the Trump clan (the god, gays, guns enablers) GOP. And if the establishment (read big money) GOP is finally done trying to corral Trump, maybe they will finally start yanking the strings on their puppets in the Senate. We'll see. I hope so. Dumb it down for me, will ya? I'm just not connecting the dots.

a very apt comment from the NY Times article:
"It's a cruel irony that the name of the author of "Politics and the English Language" has become a cliché, but sometimes there is simply no better word than "Orwellian." We now have a Ministry of Truth in charge of ensuring that the Ministry of Math properly enforces Big Stupid Brother's command that 2 2=5."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and one additional quote which I find even more disturbing when you think about the future possible implications of Trump's personality failings:
"At this point, the point isn’t that as per usual, Trump glanced at an early news report, never looked again, never bothered to follow up, never asked anybody who know, and shot his mouth off yet again.
It’s that (again, as always) Trump stuck to his Guns of Stupidity, screamed at anybody who told him the truth, faked some fake facts, and then bullied and threatened rather than acting like a man.
I suppose Trumpists think this means he’s tough, or smiting the ungodly or something.
Fact is, sooner or later, this {Trump's tendency to 'stick to his Guns of Stupidity' (stupidity being the operative word} is gonna get us into real serious trouble." (like with North Korea, for example...)

Dumb it down for me, will ya? I'm just not connecting the dots. I feel like the establishment GOP has held their noses for 2.5 yrs and tried to cooperate w/Trump because all they give a rip about is low taxes and low regs. I feel like they've been working in and around his admin to give him some cover w/other establishment/money donors while also trying to corral his worst instincts (cozying up to dictators, spilling national security secrets, etc.) But I think they've maybe finally given up on him (this latest whipsaw on Afghanistan and/or the insistence on tariffs being the more egregious examples of how far apart they are) and are making plans to activate the Senate to work against him - even though Trump's 37-40% base scares them. But maybe the calculus is finally that they need to throw massive amounts of money to quell the base while they start to neuter Trump and maybe even work against him in the 2020 primaries. Again, we'll see.

Yep, he said "7-11" instead of 9-11. And amazingly enough, no one in the crowd at the rally even laughed. at all. There must have been Trump stooges waiting in the wings to toss anyone out who didn't act adoring enough.

Pence trip through Ireland!! $600,000 for ground transportation.......... I thought they flew the 180 miles each way each day?!?
Vice President Pence’s trip to President Trump’s Doonbeg, Ireland, resort cost taxpayers nearly $600,000 in ground transportation fees, according to State Department receipts.
The receipts, first noticed by the left-leaning watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, totaled over $599,000 during the course of Pence’s stay, which required him to bounce back and forth between Doonbeg and Dublin for his official meetings.
Former President Obama’s visit to Ireland cost just $114,000 in ground transit and used the same limousine company, according to receipts reviewed by NBC News. ** Marc Short, Pence’s chief of staff, initially said that Trump made a “suggestion” to Pence to stay at Doonbeg, but later reversed course and clarified the president played no role in the decision.
“I don’t suggest anything,” Trump told reporters last week. “I don’t suggest it.” ** More at link: thehill.com/homenews/administration/460964-pence-trip-to-doonbeg-cost-nearly-600000-in-ground-transportation
Mark Short said the president made a 'suggestion', reversed and said no.... Wait which IS the truth? Cannot be both!! But.......... maybe so, dt didn't 'suggest' .. Maybe he told/ordered Pence to stay there!! May be that is the answer!

Sometimes I wonder if Democrats stand a chance against Republicans in some of these states. Republicans play dirty, no other way around it. They tried to override the governor's budget veto for two months and didn't have the two-thirds majority to do so. They waited until almost half the chamber was attending a 9-11 memorial service, and then called a vote (after allegedly promising there would not be a vote during the memorial service). The override passed 55-9. Just saw that on the news..... it was recorded and them someone started taking a video!

”Breaking News: The Trump administration will finalize the repeal of a clean water regulation that limits the use of polluting chemicals near bodies of water”
You know who will suffer the most from this? The children when they get sick from drinking tainted water.
ETA this from trump...
”Dems have never gotten over the fact that President Trump won the Election!” @gopleader McCarthy”
We are upset because the of actions taken like the one above. Funny thing about humans, we need water to survive. Preferably water that does not contain “polluting chemicals”.

He and his friends can afford bottled water, not that it is always the best. I drink tap water, it is basically free. Most people drink tap water and we are ALL encourged to refill containers to carry water with us, not to use prefilled bottles! So he is gettign at our kids all the way around!
