What embossing powders do you use brand wise?
Has anyone tried Nuvo embossing powder? Do you recommend it?
I have wow and hero arts currently but I'm going to a store in a couple weeks that carries Nuvo.

I mostly use either Ranger or Filigree but also have a couple of Hero Arts and Wow powders. Haven't tried any of the Nuvo embossing powders.

I use whatever I've found second hand. It's a mongrel assortment of: Bit o' Boss Personal Stamp Exchange Stamper's Edge Great Canadian Stamping Co. Ranger All Night Media Stamp n' Stuff Enchanted Creations Comotion Judi Kins Herbarium Embossing Arts Co. Stamp It!
A lot of these companies don't exist anymore from what I remember. Judi Kins is still around I think, and they're pretty decent. Honestly I haven't noticed any huge range of quality between brands other than one pot of Enchanted Creations's Tropical Red Tinselette which I swear is posessed because it's the most horridly clumping stuff ever. All the other colours work fine but something's off with that pot. I should probably toss it.

I have two Nuvo embossing powders, a blue and a light greenish/turquoise type color. I have other brands, like Ranger, too. I've used both of these from Nuvo and they are fine. Normal.

I wonder if there's much variation between brands...? I wouldn't be surprised if they're all made in the same vat (or whatever you make embossing powder in, lol) and then funneled into different jars with different brand labels on them. I'm not sure what brands I have because I only have a couple and they're in plastic storage containers like JMcGuire uses.

You’re probably right joblackford - like a lot of the inks are made by the same one or two companies.

For sentiments and detailed things, I use Ranger Superfine Detail (black and white). For non-fine lined things I use Hero Arts.

I mainly use Hero Arts now.
I've tried Nuvo. They're good and melt well. If I needed to add a new color to my collection I'd prob look and see what they have.
I used to use American Crafts. They aren't great and I wouldn't recommend them. I tossed them all a few months after getting my first HA one because I very much noticed the difference.

I have a few different types: Hero Arts, Ranger, Wow, Pow (wouldn't recommend at all) and Brutus Munroe. The Brutus Munroe is smoother and I really like it more than the others, although the Hero Arts and Ranger do work well too.

Most 'brands' of craft supplies are derived from white label products - products that are developed and marketed to companies without an inherent brand, so they can slap their own label on it. At most they might specify a certain colour or mix of colour + glitter.

I have mostly Nuvo embossing powders and really like them. They have a lovey fine consistency and melt beautifully. I am also a sucker for the pretty little jars!

I mostly use Judikins. I have clear and a few colors but they also make ones that have glitter. All of them work well.

My current favorite is Brutus Monroe. It’s so smooth.

I use Wow on the occasion that I heat emboss and I really like it. You can buy small, singular pots which appealed to me.
Haven’t tried any others apart from Zing from American Crafts and I really didn’t like it. It dried so chunky.

I mostly have Zing and Stampin’ Up! embossing powders. I love the coverage of the Stampin’ Up! powders but they stick to everything, even if I use my embossing buddy. I do like that the colors match my Stampin’ Up! Inks, though.
