One of my least favorite tasks about scrapbooking is putting layouts into albums. I usually put it off and put it off and put it off until I have a huge stack but I’ve waited way too long this time and now look what I’ve done! I have probably 150 layouts that need to be put in albums! 😭 Please send help. And page protectors. 🤣 I am right there with you! Maybe we need to encourage each other and report on our progress. LOL.

I was at Michaels today and saw that they have their albums Buy One/Get One Free. Their faux leather (WRMK look alikes) are $31. I just got two navy ones. My Michaels stopped selling 12x12 3-ring albums, which has definitely contributed to my ever growing stack of pages.

Most of ours are post bound, but they usually have one or two in some of the colors. I like the navy and red ones and those are often in stock. Sometimes you can have your online stuff sent to the store the same day.

Plus, things like trimmer blades are easy to steal so they will be gone from the shelf but the store thinks they are in stock so they never get reordered! Drives. Me. Crazy. I end up going to Joann’s for blades even though they are $1.50 more per 2-pack.

At least you have some in page protectors! I usually always make sure they are in page protectors even if I don’t have albums ready but I don’t stack them on top of each other instead I put the according to their category in magazine box ( you know the cardboard ones they sell everywhere)...
Good luck!

I have Iris case after Iris case after Iris case of layouts. I actually like looking at them better without the layer of plastic over them, so I'm not sure if I'll ever put them in albums. I have a lot of empty albums.

Any Canadians finding it hard to find 12x12 3 ring albums that don't cost a fortune? I'm literally out and need a few but don't want to spend $100+ for the 4 that I need.

@elaynef We are the same - I have 5 albums going at any one time. One for each of my 2 grands, ours, our DD's (no kids), and a hockey album for grandson. He requested a separate album. I only use the WRMK albums. I did just buy 6 from J's. Glad I revisited this thread. I just realized I'm going to lubbock tommorow and can go to Joann's

I hope you have better luck! I buy them online. They do a great job of packaging them, so they are never damaged in shipping.

Micheal’s has 40% off all regular priced stuff bought online thru today! I had something I needed multiples of so that was a score for me.

Thanks for this thread.
It has raised many good points for me to consider.
I work with the album and page protectors in place, and fill it up as I go along.

Sorry for dragging this old threat out from the abyss but I was doing a search for page protectors and this thread came up.
I have an album from Michael's that someone gifted me but it is post-bound and the pages are all meant to slide 4x6 photos into. Don't you just love scrappy gifts people give you because they know you like scrapping but you have no idea what to do with it?? Looking at you, ugly paper pad that my MIL gave me... anyway, I had never dealt with a post-bound album so it's just been sitting there. Actually I put extra wedding photos in it, but that's not really what I want to use it for. I realized I can actually unscrew the posts and add/take out pages. I was wondering if any of you have ever replaced these pages with regular 12x12 protectors? If so, what kind?? Up until this point, I have only exclusively used CM albums, so I have never bought "regular" page protectors. I have browsed online at all the usual shops, and I just really don't know what to get.
I see according to this thread that Michael's has discontinued selling 3 ring. I definitely noticed that in my online browsing! All their albums are the ones I described above. It is very strange and frustrating.

I am WAY too OCD to handle that. I remember a prior thread about this. I think we were evenly divided about putting layouts in albums immediately or later. Anyway...I buy my WRMK albums on JoAnn's website when they are on sale. I'll buy a bunch at a time. I buy the page protectors on Amazon in boxes of 50. Actually, they have a 100 pack for $31.26 right now. linkI can't seem to get to that with the link, all I am showing is 40+....

It is very strange and frustrating. In my experience with post bound is that there isn't a standard hole placement and they don't align with the standard 3 ring holes. I use those page protectors for storing kits and toss the albums. To me they are too frustrating making them useless for albums.

I also have a stack of layouts that need to go in albums! They sit in an Iris case until I put them in albums.
A couple months ago I bought 8 Brown WRMK albums from craftsdirect.com at $12.99 a piece. Not the most exciting color, but they work. That's the best price I've found in a while. I watch for sales and stock up.

I think my stack is bigger than yours😂. Actually I posted about this several months ago and got some great advice and even a link to a video that was helpful. While my stack is only slightly smaller, I now have a plan in which I need a day to spread all those layouts outs so that I can visually group them. I also bought 1 album and made an intro page that basically states that this is an album of misfit layouts that for whatever reason don’t fit in existing albums. I’ve given myself permission to not put them in any particular order.
