Steve- I am one of your biggest fans. I have been throwing money at your designs since Suzy Zoo. Carta Bella is a huge love. I love all the designers and I throw so much money at the collections. Yes, I am fan girling.

However working for AC as a graphic designer is no different to working for Walmart as a graphic designer. You produce work for that brand. This is so interesting to me! So why then do some lines have "create by (insert name, let's just say Steve Duncan) and some just don't? Do some designers, based on talent or whatnot get a byline and some are just stable workhorses? Also, isn't that upsetting to create something and not have your name attached to it? I don't know, I think I might be a bit bummed about that.

I don't know, I think I might be a bit bummed about that. I think it’s because Steven Duncan has a following - so they want to shout about it. He also is designing for a brand, Carta Bella, and their collections rather than a brand within a brand (ie. Maggie Holmes under AC) where they want to give this illusion that all the work is designed by Maggie Holmes. Also it’s normal to not get credit for the designs when you work in-house. It’s like all the designers that design greetings cards for Hallmark, they don’t get credit on the back of every greetings card. Its similar for people who work full time for a single brand and copywrite or write articles, stories and other content for that brand - it’s their words but they aren’t owed any credit for them. They wrote the words but they belong to the brand who paid for them.

Since we are specifically discussing Dear Lizzy and the topic of designing has come up...is it just me or do these papers look verrrrrry similar?
