Every time I walk2-3 miles at a time, my feet itch when I'm done. Not right away though. Maybe 2-3 hours later. It's not isolated to any one area. It can be my arch, my heels, tips of my toes, top of my foot, etc. There are no rashes, redness, blisters or open areas. I notice that it's especially bad after I've been on the pavement as opposed to a nature trail. I wear cotton socks and well-fitting sneakers and take them off as soon as I am done.
Any ideas on what kind of weird phenomena this might be?

Don't know but could it be something with your circulation? Maybe worth checking on.

not2peased, nope. They look no different from normal. Today they don't itch at all. I've been done with my walk for about 2 hours and I'm fine. This is day 6 of walking so I'm wondering if my nerve endings are getting used to me actually getting my butt up and moving.

It sounds like a circulation issue. I've had that happen off and on. It's usually not a big deal.

I've had that happen before. I think my feet were swelling.

Hopefully losing a couple, well more like 20, pounds will help. I'm so sick of being chubby and out of shape that I can deal with itchy feet for a while if it helps me get more fit.

cat2007 Do you take antihistamines? Having itching during or after exercise is fairly common. In some people it's a release of histamines triggered from the exercise. I don't remember the exact science of it but it's a thing. For years I wondered what the heck was wrong with me bec when I exercised my thighs and sometimes my torso would itch like crazy. And if I started scratching it it was over! It's a really bad itch. Thanks to the wonderful internet I finally found an answer. I take an antihistamine daily, Allegra, and no more itchies. I need it for actually allergies too but if not I'd still take it to not have the itching during/after exercise. I haven't heard of it just on feet but I don't know why that couldn't happen too. Google itching and exercise and I"m sure you'll find a lot of info. Try taking an antihistamine and see if it helps.
