My students ask me every day if they got anything in the mail. So many of them never get a birthday gift. For Christmas they may get one little toy and a new shirt. Gifts for no occasion are beyond their comprehension. Tomorrow I’ll have a box of markers for them. There was no note in the mailing envelope, so I don’t know who to thank. Thank to to whoever it was! Yes!!! Please share how many students (age range) and boys/girls. This made me lose my mind—how heart wrenching! I’d like to help and send something.

Thanks, Christine, but it really is such a small gesture. I will gain so much more than that small amount of money in imagining the joy felt by each child in that class. I’ve been feeling quite meaningless lately, and it selfishly gives me something to give to the teachers and kids on this thread. I wish every single person who has donated to our classrooms could somehow understand how much of a difference these things make. I was gifted a book about Blackbeard. I started reading it last night and told my kiddos about it today. In one part it talked about him putting flaming sticks in his beard to look even more intimidating. One of my boys, who proclaims to hate reading, had so many questions. I told him I would finish the book tonight and bring it to him tomorrow. I bet he reminded me no less than 10 times. He can’t wait to read the book, and I can’t wait to tell him I finished it and need him to finish it too so I have someone to discuss it with. Thanks so much for sharing this story. <3

Thanks for PM with your phone number. Now when I go back to your wish list the set of 5 stools has this message: No sellers are currently shipping this item to your location
I don't know why, but many items on these wish lists have this message. The stools didn't have it earlier. Does anyone understand why? Thats really weird. If it isn't possible, I understand. I really appreciate you trying to help me out though. Cindy Cindy, if you go to your wishlist and click the link for purchasing the stools, there is another link you can click to look at similar items. There ARE very similar stools on Amazon. Hopefully some of those would be available for shipping to you. Let me know if you change out the stools for different ones.

I am the ultimate lurker on this board since back in the day of 2peas. Have learned so many great things from all of you and the search button is always my go to when I have a question or a concern. Kaytebee your Kindergarten Blog inspired my Science notebooks when I was first moved to Kindergarten. Thanks! I am a kindergarten teacher who tries to keep up with my students. My #1 class goal is for my students to love school and have fun. If they are happy to be there and see their friends I can sneak in the academics. Class Motto: Work a little, Play a little. Any help will be greatly appreciated! www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/38M6GU6A4OYDX?ref_=wl_shareI purchased the dry erase pockets and then noticed that they are temp. out of stock. You should have them by Aug 23. I'm so happy that you are working to "green" your classroom in this way, and I'm very happy to be able to help in this small way. Hugs, flanz

I received two more packages today- Thank you beaglemom and Chris! My class (and school) are going to really enjoy baking cookies and using the books you bought to learn about the phases of the moon/calendar and do the activities. The creation book is so rich in Hebrew vocabulary- we'll be able to learn so much from it! The crayons and markers will make them happy to be able to color kids that look like them (They spent lots of time trying to find the right color in the mish-mosh of crayons to come up too light or dark, and complained that we never had the right color for people!)
I am so appreciative of the support that the peas have given to my class this year. We have a later start than a lot of peas, but I'm so excited for classes to begin! I've been thinking of all the extras they are going to be able to do this year and can't wait to share it all with them!

Thank to to whoever it was! I also wanted to mention that the markers on your wishlist are the 12 pack, which is why there is now a 2-3 month wait for them. No one around here carries the 12-pack - 8, 10 and 20 being the common box size for broad tip crayola markers. I picked up 10 boxes of the 10-pack broad tip classic markers at Walmart today. If 10-packs are okay with you, I’ll mail them to your school address if you p.m. it to me. I’ve met about 20 peas in real life over the years, so if you need references that I am who I say I am, just let me know!

I have been out of town, moving my kid to her first apartment. While I was gone, my daughter said, "Mom, you are getting a LOT of packages." Look what I came home to, peas! I am moved to tears again. I cannot thank you all enough! So many amazing books to read to my class this year and in future years! And the highlighters, buttons, labels, and ceiling hangers will all be put to good use. Special thanks to these amazing humans: Jenny Laurie Clair Old Pea Kate papercrafteradvocate freeatlast flanz dawncpa craftmepink Like katybee , I will be writing your name in the front of the books so I can remember over the years how they arrived in our classroom library.

A new box of crayons for everyone is on the way! They will deliver them on Saturday, or I would guess on Monday if it is to a school.

Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. They are 2nd grade, are seven years old and so precious. I have 10 boys and 12 girls. I’ll PM the school address. I'd like to send them something too. What else would they enjoy? Other things they would like are: Books - I have a couple of students who are reading on a beginning kindergarten level. Most are right on target for second grade. Several are extremely bright and are at a fifth grade level. (I have the gifted class.). We are provided a small supply of classroom books, but I’d like to supplement what’s there. STEM bins - I bought some of these and they love them. The earlier arriving students can get them out until the bell rings. We will also use them for indoor recess on bad weather days. www.amazon.com/DreambuilderToy-Creative-Preschool-Educational-Construction/dp/B0731MM85R/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=mega%2Bmagnetic%2Bbuilding%2Bblocks&qid=1565302155&s=gateway&sprefix=mega%2Bmagnetic&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExUVJLTDJPVFdTWkUwJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjU4MTU4VFhZRU1PQzBQTVY5JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyNzI2MzkzTFdZUVc4RTBTVUNVJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfcGhvbmVfc2VhcmNoX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1 Anything similar to this would be great. Legos, Kinex, (used would be fine!) bristle blocks, etc. If you know of something your child liked/likes at that age, it would be great. I’ll be happy to PM my school address to anyone who needs it, or if you find it on Amazon, send me a link, I’ll add it to my wish list, and you can use your Prime shipping. I’ve never “met” a more generous group of ladies. The Peas are the BEST!

I lost track of the thread about little things that make you feel happy when you’re down, but to anyone who is feeling depressed, I highly recommend buying something off of a pea teacher’s list. You will immediately feel much better imagining the kids who benefit from your purchase! (Not self-promoting BTW - I posted no list because I am fortunate to be well supplied).
