At this point, and in such a large field where the odds are slim to get the nomination, I would like to see Beto bow out early in the name of going back to Texas to work for his fellow Texans. I think it would give him a better public perception than “losing” and trying to go back and run for something in Texas. As an outsider here it feels like he is in a better position to serve his state than the country as a whole right now.
And as much as I would like to see Pete as VP, I would love to have him back for a senate run here too if he doesn’t end up anywhere on the ticket. His whole campaign has gotten him attention and recognition that feels like it will serve him (and the general us) well in the future. As much as I hate all of the money that goes into campaigns, I am feeling compelled to support his campaign just to keep his voice heard if that makes sense. I feel like his positivity and thoughtfulness is much needed in the political sphere right now and I want to support that as much as the actual campaign.

as much as i wouldn't mind seeing Mayor Pete as VP, if Biden gets the nomination, the optics just look bad. Biden looks like a dinosaur next to Pete and Pete looks like he just entered Kindergarten next to Biden. visually it's almost like having Quayle all over again but with an even younger (albeit, more poised and intelligent) guy.

YES! He's in over his head. So agreed, and yes, I voted for him here. He honestly needs more experience. I'd like to see him run for something in Texas again - I thought it was a mistake to throw his hat into the presidential ring. I rather suspect he didn't want to do it and was talked into it, thus part of why he seems to be struggling. I agree. I voted for him - and it wasn't because I was holding my nose and voting (if that makes sense). I thought he would be great for Texas. I will be honest, though. I think he got caught up in all the hype about himself. I think he has a political future but I think it needs to happen in Texas first and build up his base.

Thats a good point. I did notice last night how many times Pete referenced his age. It was all the time. I get that he wants to separate himself as not one of the old white guys but I also wonder how many think he's too young? I am not certain Biden will get the nomination. How he does tonight will say a lot, IMHO. I can see Pete and Kamala Harris on a ticket together.

Ok, here we go!
Who are we excited for tonight? I want to hear more from Yang. And I am curious if Biden will step up this round or not.

So apparently it was a chant asking DeBlasio to fire the cop who put Eric Garner in a chokehold.

Healthcare is my most important issue but at this point, I'm tired of hearing about it. It's time to move to another topic.
Also, I don't like CNN's format. Every time someone mentions Harris, she gets more time to say the same things.

Ugh, I can't watch them all tear each other apart. I'm out. I'd rather read about what each one is proposing than listen to in-fighting.

Every time someone mentions Harris, she gets more time to say the same things. I agree on both points. Health care isn't my most important issue and I want to hear about other things. We are 45 min into this and no one has really said much. Lets move on.

Healthcare: I’m leaning toward Joe’s. (He seems in primo shape tonight.)
Joe – build on Obamacare, give public option, limit deductible to $1,000, people can keep their employer-based insurance if they like it, gov’t will set prices on pharmaceuticals
Kamala – her M4A is private insurance and public Medicare, 10-year transition (downsides: $30T price tag, no employer-based insurance)

Right on, Mr Bennett! No Democrat will countenance the forcible separation of children from their parents.

I like Joe's idea to increase the quota for immigration. For decades, quotas have been too low. I also like Cory's idea which is to use civil courts to adjudicate unlawful entry cases and asylum cases.

Kyle Griffin...
”Andrew Yang: "If you go to a factory here in Michigan, you will not find wall-to-wall immigrants, you will find wall-to-wall robots and machines. Immigrants are being scapegoated for issues they have nothing to do with in our economy." #DemDebate”
Score one for Yang.

Booker is really going after Biden. Biden can sound strong on some things and then not so much on the next answer. And he’s so polite that he stops talking when his time is up and that makes him look not so strong.
