This beauty has caught my eye! Rise and Shine I wish my motivation to actually get on and make things was as strong as my motivation to browse patterns
Absolutely fantastic projects so far everyone Thank you for sharing. After looking at the projects, I have to say, I like the solid much better than the variegated. I feel like you can't see how lovely and lacey it looks with the variegated yarns.

This is the little cross stitch I’m working on. It’s a very simple, almost childlike, design but it really appealed to me. I have another one by this company, totally different but equally simple.

Jeremysgirl, Could you tell me where I could find the pattern for the Buddha shawl? Thanks

Something about this doesn't feel right to me. This is a direct copy. And it costs more than the original. I hope permission was granted.

I wondered that too - I wonder if she took the pattern you have, translated it to English and is claiming it as her own? Perhaps she does have permission but info isn't given concerning that so I'm not sure. It says published in 2011 so it seems that it has been out there fore a while.

I tried searching Ravelry for the pattern before I downloaded from the German website. Either that or I didn't find it. It also has no posted projects which makes me think it's new. ETA: she made it with a scheepjes whirl. They are only like a year old.

I made a quilt using selvage I’ve accumulated over the years. Selvage are the edge of the fabric with the manufacturer information, etc. that you usually cut off and throw away. This is beautiful!

I did a mad hunt to try to find an English version of that pattern. And I couldn't. On ravelry or through Google searches.
Is there a way to report it to ravelry? And they can look into it? I just am not thrilled with the idea of someone copying someone else's work and making money off of it.

I reported it to ravelry. So they can determine whether there's permission or not.

I've been a member of the whirl Facebook group for like a year.

I reported it to ravelry. So they can determine whether there's permission or not. Good idea - I also thought it was odd that there were no projects for a pattern that was published in 2011 (as it says) - hmmm...Ravelry is very concerned about copyrights so I am sure they will investigate.

So look what came for me in the mail. The bad news is I took a chunk out of my right thumb with my mandolin slicer the other night.

jeremysgirl, I hope your thumb heals quickly. I'm sure you're dying to use that yarn.

jennyap, I think that cat fabric would make an awesome scrub top.

I decided I wasn't letting the thumb hold me back. I'm three rows to done.
My sister invited me over but it is like a good book you don't want to put down. I told her I wanted to finish but thanks for the invite. She didn't reply so I'm thinking she is not happy about my response. Non-crafters just don't get it.

Patchwork City by Elizabeth Hartman (I love this book soooo much!)
My sewing machine is still in the box it got shipped in due to lack of space to set it up but my head is full of cutting and sewing fabric together!

Happy Sunday!!! I am popping in to see how you all are doing and say hi. I have slowed down on my crocheting because my little group had to postpone our time over the last several weeks. The a/c isn't working at the church and too hot to meet. Maybe they will find another place for us to get together. I did do a little last night and hope to continue tonight. RedSquirrelUK- That baby jacket is just adorable!!! Love it!
