snoopy a 1.5mm hook is so small. I don't even own one. Lol! But seriously I like afghans because I can put my brain on autopilot. Are you on ravelry? Check out sophies universe. It might be just the blanket for you.

I participate in an annual dishcloth swap and this year, I decided to crochet them (I usually knit them) The pattern is called Pretty Pastel Dishcloth (although mine are not pastel)

ARe you using Sugar and Cream yarn? The Yellow, Pink/Yellow and Purple are actually some older Peaches & Creme that I had. The other 2 were made with Hobby Lobby's Crafter's Secret Cotton.

How does the Crafter's Secret Yarn feel? After the thread last week about reusable face cloths, I loved my old ones and I feel like I should make some more. But I haven't found a yarn that I like the idea of wet touching my face.

lainey my friend Nia says size up your needles and try the lace shawl again. She said gauge is a tricky bitch just as we thought. She showed me two shawls, same pattern, same yardage, one knitted on size 4 needles and one knitted on size 7 needles. I couldn't believe they were the same shawl. I couldn't believe they used the same amount of yarn. The different effect was so stunning. Thank you. Gauge is indeed a tricky bitch

But I haven't found a yarn that I like the idea of wet touching my face. It feels similar to Sugar & Creme but not quite as stiff. Have you tired Hobby Lobby's I Love This Cotton? It is really soft. I like Sugar & Cream for dishcloths because they are sturdy but I like I Love This Cotton for face cloths since it is soft.

I'm still working on my rainbow circle cardigan (crochet). I have the sleeves in, and the body is waist length in the back. Not a good length for me, I want the back to come just below my butt. So I have a lot of work to do. The edge is SO big around that a round takes a few hours of steady work now. I can realistically do an hour at a time, so maybe it will be finished by mid September? Definitely before it gets cool enough to wear it.
Then I'm starting a shades of green and brown cardigan that shouldn't take anywhere near as long to make. Less voluminous shape, no big circle sweep at the hemline, heavier yarn, bigger hook.
I need to get some sewing done at some point. I have a bunch of linen and several Tina Givens patterns to make some funky shabby chic meets lagenlook outfits.

I've mostly been cross stitching this summer, and made a cute piece for my mom that I took to the framer's today. So I'll share that when it comes back. Last week was Craft Day on HSN and I got a Halloween card kit plus some extra stickers and sentiments from Anna Griffin. Had a stressful day this week, and I came home and made all twenty cards in a binge. I really had planned to space them out! Here are eight of them. Sorry the picture quality sucks.

I really ought to do this, instead of using sponges. There aren't many non-recyclable things that I haven't replaced around the house, but I do still use sponges. I should make some dishcloths for when I run out - I think I stocked up fairly recently.

Well, it depends on how "into" Halloween one is, but many people are, here in the U.S. I remember getting one or two Halloween cards from aunts when I was little in the 70s, and for crafters, there are lots of stamps and stickers available for making your own. And they have some ready made in stores, too. I have a lot of friends and family who love Halloween, so I like sending cards.

Mystie - Your cards are AMAZING! I love AG card kits too. I ordered some of her birthday card toppers this Summer. Thanks! I spent some years in the past designing cards from scratch, sometimes for publication back when there were craft magazines, and there is something incredibly relaxing now about just having a kit to work from. I can mix it up with other kits, add whatever odds and ends I have in my stash, but I have all the supplies right there. It's soooo much easier.

I've started a new shawl! I keep thinking no more shawls and yet here we are...
I'm going to go through my basket of mini albums this evening, some need fixing up a bit after the house move. I'm not sure I want to keep them all.

Hi ladies! Wow, the work here is seriously putting me to shame! I have been knitting for years, started when I quit smoking, something to do with my hands lol I have been wanting to learn to crochet for a while. I recently saw an ad for Annie's Crochet Afghan Block of the Month Club. I impulsively signed up right away, then kicked myself. I need another hobby like I need another hole in my head. I got the kit for the first 3 blocks in the mail 2 weeks ago. Last Wednesday I finally opened it up and went to work. I finished the 3rd block on Sun LOL It is so much fun! I was working on it after my 2yr old went to sleep. I would just turn on an audio book, get comfy with my iPad (for the video directions), and get to work. Bottom block is all single crochet, top is double, and the middle one is double, shell, and V stitch.

That's great tyra ! You did great, especially since you just started. They look fantastic! Thank you! I know they aren't perfect, rarely anything I make is LOL But it is fun, and to know that I will have a quilt when I am done is awesome. I enjoy this way of learning. Each block will have a different stitch or combination of stitches. Now, just to remember them all!

tyra that is a great way to learn a bunch of different things at once. Plus you get to do a little bit at a time. Great job!
