What I really need is someone reminding me that more isn’t better. I do better with just one kit. Too much overwhelms me. I'll be your buddy for this. I love looking at all the kits and collections but I usually only buy a couple of things at most and pull the rest from my stash. Less is definitely more for this project. Awesome! I am going to pull out my Christmas stuff tomorrow + spend some time really seeing what I need.

I bought the paper smooches stamps & dies for the Jewish holidays. Seemed to have planner sized sentiments for several holidays. Not sure I can count that totally in my ‘December budget’ but it’s a reusable tool.
I also picked up the scrapbook.com ‘north pole’ numbers stamps which will work better next year because I’m not using this kraft cardstock that is awful with stamping next year. But I can use them on inserts.
Speaking of which how does the Neenah cardstock do with stamping? Does the ink bleed thru? Does the ink spread away from the image?
I thought it was so cute using a rough textured kraft card stock in my journal. I like the look & color but it is awful with ink. Ink spreads in the paper as it is absorbed, it does not stay put where you stamp or write it. So annoying.

I’m curious too - I would like to find a kraft paper that doesn’t spread the ink but also isn’t just a shade of tan. Curious if the peas have found a good brand!

I love the Elle's Studio letter stickers. And I really love the Christmas ones they are sneak-peaking this year.

I thought I'd do some DD prep - you know like make things for clear pockets....things that I love but don't seem to have time to make in December...so I spent a bit of time today on Marie Lotttermoster's site . I love her style so so much I miss her. She had the most amazing albums. And she was photo-heavy... *sighs in French*

mom One-kitters unite! Meow... Happy to (probably poorly, let's face it) assist you in sticking to your less-works-better plan! You can do this, guuurl. Been meaning to ask if you're ok. I know you've been dreading your nest emptying. Just wanted to let you know I've kept you in my thoughts and hope you're not too sad (but if you are, that's ok and you are totally validated in feeling that way). Much love! Elle's Studio are killing the DD sneak game this year. Lovely product all around (oh, those alpha puffies, I so agree with those who've commented on these) and good presentation of what will be available with the holiday photos. Top notch! hop2 My limited experience with Neenah has been positive re: stamping. I hope some other Peas can chime in with more specifics for Neenah but I haven't had any trouble the few times I tried this brand (which is oddly hard to find in Europe hence my limited experience). Ali's really into biiiig statement pieces this year. YUGE. I am not feeling the XL bauble rubber pieces either. And they'll be super bulky. And they are rubber which I'm no longer using in my albums. But I do like the design style of the hanger attachment thingy at the top of the bauble. Thanks to everyone who played along with the DD budget questions. You are awesome! I'll be posting more personalised answers to each of you next week. I can't quite think straight enough right now. It's late, we had a crappy day meeting with greyhound rescue organisations who were a complete letdown and I just want a handful of M&M's but we don't have any (and all the stores are closed). *heavy sigh*

Ink spreads in the paper as it is absorbed, it does not stay put where you stamp or write it. So annoying. White Neenah cardstock is perfect for stamping. I use the extra smooth one, I think (I can send you the specific numbers, but it's the 80lb one Joann has by the ream) and it's lovely. No ink migrating or seeping or anything like that. It's smooth and bright and lovely. Especially with a 40-50% off coupon I can send you a few pieces to try if you like. message me I don't know much about kraft cardstock but the kraft card bases I have used in the past are quite rough, especially on marker nibs. What a pain that the kraft you used didn't work well for stamping. That would be so disappointing! I've never bought kraft by the sheet but there has to be some good stuff out there.

Elle's elf stickers (although haven't seen yet), alphas, word phrases and those cute puffy mugs with the hearts are going on my possible purchase list -- so that's Elle 4, Ali 1. ......I do hope that most of these are add ons. If I had to get just one thing it would be those mug puffies.....they would be great with any layout especially if the heart on the mug comes in seasonal colours (hint hint)
I don't really like the mix of puffies in the sneak above - so I would either get one set - maybe the one with different colors or the green...the half and half just doesn't look christmas-ey to me. I wish that design team could publish their layouts BEFORE we have to buy. It would really really help.

Yeah, if I want to pay $1/sheet I could use one from my LSS but that’s gonna be an expensive journal. Is there such a thing as a nice ‘stone’ cardstock? I used to have one but I’m out and I can find it anymore. By Stone I mean a speckled cardstock if cool grey tones. At this point I think I’m going to go with the Neenah white because I would like to stamp in my planner and still be able to read it the next day!

I've heard cardcutups on YT talk about some neutral colored cardstocks he uses for card bases - Neenah desert storm, I think, and one he gets from the big box office supply store (Staples?) that's a tan or grey, I think their own brand. Sorry I didn't find the info on his blog (didn't have time to really search) but he's very responsive to questions and comments. If you have an office supply store nearby you might want to call and ask. They might not carry it in store though. I didn't see much at mine. I know we've had some discussions about cardstock options on the card/stamp board. The Joann's brand may be pretty decent, if I remember correctly. Maybe they have something like your stone?

I use Bazill Kraft cardstock. Takes ink really well and I can run it through my printer.
I bought it in bulk years ago , it's very smooth

hop2, I like using the American Crafts smooth light kraft cardstock for stamping. (Note: the picture on Amazon makes it look like it's cream-colored, but it's not.) It's pretty reasonably priced on Amazon usually and seems to stamp pretty well. Here's a Google photo album with some cards I've made by stamping on the paper. There are some imperfections to the stamping, but that's mostly due to the fact that I didn't use a stamp positioner.

Am I crazy or will those look great with Snow and Cocoa, FaLaLa and sooo many other goodies in my stash!

I am trying to hang on these days. The oldest son has been a headache lately (you can read about this on the NSBR side of the board). DS2 is at college and seems to be loving it. 25 days til we drive the 8 hours to see him for a weekend. Regardless of how my kids are doing (or not doing) I plan on doing DD this year. Contemplating a 3x8 album so I dont feel pressure to make it so full.

FYC sneak! These are so darn cute!! I might like them better then Elle's Studio. I need these puffy stickers in my life! I preordered the Cocoa Daisy kit and am only allowing myself one more order. This might be it! hop2 , I like Neenah Desert Storm for stamping on a kraft-like cardstock. It has a smooth texture and is a very nice color, not too dark. Takes ink perfectly. I bought a ream at Kelly Paper. Yes, we still have one of those around.

Really liking the look of those further Elle’s Studio sneaks. Don’t think I’ll be able to resist the kit this year. http://instagr.am/p/B1oaLlGgRdd I have purchased Christmas kits from Elle's Studio before and found them to be very good. I might join you this year depending on the cards...

I really like those white puffies in Elle's latest sneak and the black ho ho ho. For some reason I am not loving FYC - maybe because it because of the colours/reminds me of last years die cuts, although I like the tree puffy. I'm a pretty minimalist scrapper so I had better be careful and not fall for buying a ton of embellishments that I won't use.

I have a bit of a weird confession to make , considering I like to do my own thing. I would love to know for design teams, what kits each designers are going to get in advance. Invariably I watch my favourites and they use a product I didn't buy and I wish I had.

Invariably I watch my favourites and they use a product I didn't buy and I wish I had. well, not much in this industry is new new so you might have something similar in your stash or be able to make something similar. For example I recently saw a sneak with happy little colorful gingerbread people puffy stickers. But why buy a whole set when 1- I don’t do DD ( there isn’t enough activity to do it in addition to my daily photo journal ) & 2 I don’t envision using the rest? 3 how puffy or dimensional would I want go in my journal? However upon thinking about it I do have tons of papers in similar colors ( well almost exactly that color scheme ) and I already have a happy gingerbread man mini die so there I go I can cut ginger people with the die & layer them no purchase necessary. ( but if they are left over & go on clearance I make no promises ) 😜
