Glitzy Stack - creativity inc. - manufactured by DCWV 6x8 glitzy glitter catdstock.
I bought this recently and I was so excited to use it I couldn’t wait to diecut sparkly phrases for cards.
Well last night I did and I’m not impressed.
I love the way it looks. That’s where the love ends.
The glitter is not loose in anyway nor will it become loose pieces of glitter it’s encased completely. Which I like.
However when I diecut with it, it didn’t come apart easily despite being cut thru. It was weird. The paper backing was on the bottom away from the blade of the die, next to the cutting pad, it was cut thru but the ‘gel’ glitter layer which was right next to the die blade did not separate. If the diehard not worked then the paper backing wouldn’t have been cut thru. As if the gel/glitter layer just moved with the blad instead of cutting clean. Shins did not change this. The die work easily & perfectly with other cardstocks.
When I did get the words apart the glitter part separated from the backing as if it was a sticker. Was weird. Lucky I didn’t need the strength of the card backing for this project but I can’t see how anyone would make the crowns shown on the cover if it separated like that. You’d have one floppy crown.
Buyer beware with this product. I want so bad to love it but I just don’t. I wouldn’t dream of putting it thru my cameo. Thumbs down from me.

Are you sure you didn’t get the washi glitter stack- it IS a sticker sheet and you peel off the clear backing I only suggest because I had this and couldn’t work out why the backing wouldn’t cut through

The backing is not clear it is white cardstock. It’s labeled glitter cardstock not washi.

I have this stack also I have a Gemini junior and I find more luck cutting it upside down ie through the cardstock first - if that makes sense

I have this same issue with the same glitter cardstock! I tried on my cuttlebug and vagabond and it always wants to separate. A real shame because it is so pretty!

Can’t you make word dies work this way? - die face down with cutting side UP - glitter paper face down - run through that way? I may be misunderstanding what you did the first time. I’m pretty sure with Gemini, you always put the blade side of die UP. That’s what I always do.

I've run into issues cutting this type of 'squishy' surfaced stuff before too. Haven't found a perfect solution yet, but sometimes putting an additional piece of cardstock under the glitter one helps force it to cut. The problem is that it's stretchy, so the pressure of the shearing edge doesn't work properly. It ends up embossing more than cutting.

I’m most annoyed by the separation of the glitter front from the stable backing.
And I just thought I’d let peas know how fussy it will be so they don’t buy 2 pads like me. Lol

How disappointing, thank you for the warning. I have 3 DCWV glitter stacks that have to be close to 10 years old, and cut like butter in my machine. I will be extra stingy using it now.

I have many glitter stacks by DCWV I found a couple pads did this. The pastel glitter stack separated when I die cut it.
