I am in Japan right now. So far I’ve been to Joyful Honda and the Copic price is great. About $3. for the Sketch Markers. Will go to Tokyo Hands later in the week. Actually a roll of Japanese washi was more pricey than a Sketch Marker. So many people in Joyful Honda had their little perfectly groomed dogs dressed in little outfits and riding in carts with mats provided by the store. We also picked up some action figures and toy car replicas. The Toyotas and Hondas are so much cuter here.
If you like upscale shopping Harajuku (the little alleyways) have great boutiques and the people watching and restaurants are tops. We’ve observed two outdoor weddings. We ate at Smokehouse last night because we had been eating so much sushi and ramen we were ready for a change. Just for fun we will go to the four story Starbucks today since it’s the biggest in the world. The shrines and parks are beautiful and the trains are perfect for getting around. It’s so enjoyable to be vacationing in a country that is so safe and so organized and where everyone seems to take pride in what they do.

Just got back from Japan. Shopping is amazing. Who knew there is a Starbucks in Tokyo that is like a Macy’s? It is four floors with each floor the size of a dept store. All the drinks are different than the US. The whole third floor is a bar with coffee based cocktails. I have never seen the kind of shopping that is available in Tokyo. Just unreal. Bought a lot of Copic sketch markers and stamping supplies in both Joyful Honda and Tokyo Hands. Thanks to those who recommended that. Both are huge multiple floor stores. Copic Sketch markers were 3.75 and 3.80. That’s less than half of the 8.99 here. I plan to ask my daughter in law to buy a bunch more and send. Japan is such an amazing country. I would love to live there, so safe and the people are so friendly and accommodating. Not one speck of dust on anyone’s car and I never saw a pothole or a padlocked bike. Even American food is great. You haven’t lived until you’ve had a Japanese doughnut. Even the southern barbecue was better and I’ve lived all over the south at different times in my life. It was soon after the flooding so some of our sightseeing to southern Japan was cancelled but we still were able to go to beautiful parks and shrines. Hope to go back next year because in 10 days we just scratched the surface on sightseeing.
