I never thought about doing this, so simple and easy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbgwugtFDIYThe trick is at 40:25 Essentially, she takes a plain strip of white paper, cut to whatever length she wants her embellishment to be. Uses a strip of washi, covers it and then border punches it. Genuis! I can see so many uses for this, and it looks really nice on her page. I am going to try it on scrap pages and also as a border for my cards.

That does look really good I don't think I've seen anyone use a border punch before. I've seen people use the very wide washi to die cut elements/words. I currently have some Altenew extra wide washi tapes in my wishlist because of seeing that tip on a video.

I love it.
There was another video I saw a few years ago in which someone painted strips of washi, and stamped on some too. I'm so grateful for all the clever creative people who share their ideas. I never think of this stuff on my own.

What a great idea! I went through a time a while back where I bought scads of washi (who didn't?) and have never really used it. I'm going to try this!

I put washi on white cardstock and punch out shapes or letters to match a paper. I haven't tried the border punches yet.

Ahhhhh, Janet! I thought of her before I even watched the video. I have been doing this trick since watching earlier videos from her. I will take some of my more transparent washi and put it on white cardstock and use as accent border strips. Where I really want the washi to be seen, not fade away on printed paper.
Thanks for sharing!

Really smart, except I don't own any border punches. Maybe I'll give it a try with my cutting program.
