I seem to be accumulating more and more pens and pencils. What works for you for travel and organization? I found that a pencil box just doesn't work for me. I hate digging through the box to find what I want. I am have seen some cases with elastic bands for the pencils/pens, but a lot of them have complaints that the bands are too tight to fit alcohol markers. What works for you?

Good question! I'd like to know the answer too. I can't even figure out how to corral all my pens and markers at home!

I saw some pencil pouches at Dollar Tree that have a mesh covering in the middle so you can see what is inside.

The Kipling 100 Pens pencil box is bombastic for my personal use but I also get why it might not work for some other folks. It holds my go-to pens as well as some essential craft supplies in the "bottom box" part like scissors for fussy-cutting, adhesive tape dispenser on top of some extra pens.
But it sounds like you're dealing with way more pens and pencils than I am!

For alcohol markers, I'm using an old IKEA wooden CD cabinet. It's got glass doors/shelves that are just the right depth for Copics, and lets them lie on their sides so I can see the end caps. Don't travel much, but I've seen some cases that unzip in the middle so you end up with two cups you can put your markers in while working that seemed useful. I'd probably favour some kind of solution that let me see the tips of the markers. For my fineliners, I use an old pasta can and the tips down. Paintbrushes are similarly corralled in cans. Free and effective, though not a great travel option.

I think I have 500 pens and generally don't travel with them so they are all corralled in separate square short glass vases from the $store and fitted into wood trays. I am OCD about keeping each type in a group.
However, I have found that the 5x7 iris photo keeper boxes are perfect size to hold a group of pens. It will hold 16-20 pens, and probably 8 copics in each box.

I don’t know, the case I bought online literally only fits pencils even though the ad said pens & pencils. The only pens that fit were my collection of ‘le pen’s
I was sad because in theory it would have been perfect but it sits empty on my shelf.

Disclosure - I haven't bought any of these ..... yet. But I do lust over several. So many to choose from. Just pick the style - standing, tray, cloth, etc. www.jetpens.com/Pencil-Cases/ct/1324

hop2 that happened to me too. I do have a lot of colored pencils so it worked for those. I ended up buying a couple of cheap zippered case pen holders on Amazon a while back. It has those little stretch bands that hold the pens. I also have my old Zig markers in them but no way would bigger markers like Copics fit. Oh, and it’s ugly.a

I was looking for something new for pens and pencils, and came up with this from Tuesday Morning:
(Photos removed)
If you click on the picture it won’t be sideways. Anyway, it’s a desk organizer, turned on its back. I intend to add some cardboard dividers covered with paper and washi tape to create more sections. I was happy with the way the pens and markers of various lengths fit into it.
I’m sorry for those of you who ended up down the Jet Pens rabbit hole. Notice my navy blue pen sampler on the top shelf. I want all the pens!

Great thread! I just ordered one of the Kamio tray style cases from Jetpens. It looks perfect for storing my daily journaling supplies.
