He must have made a bundle of money on that stupid TV show (which I’m happy to say I never watched). But not the multi-billions he claims, and which I don’t believe for one minute.

I heard an interview on Progressive radio-- maybe Dean Obeidallah's show- or maybe it was with Chris Hayes on MSNBC-- ??
anyway, the interview was with someone talking about Trump's 'allowance' during the 1990s. He got a loan of $20 million from a group of banks... before he finally had to turn to Deutsche Bank, I'm guessing-- and the interviewer said that in addition to the loan for business funds, the bankers even had to put him on a 'monthly allowance' for his personal spending, because he was spending HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars per month. For his PERSONAL spending. Even back then. And I'm assuming he hasn't become any thriftier since then.
I mean, really- if someone can BANKRUPT a CASINO, they're not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.

fun fact: only 1 US president has been re-elected when a recession happened during the last two years of his presidency. William McKinley in 1900.
is it wrong that i'm secretly hoping that streak continues with trump? with a possible recession looming, this may do in his re-election. the lies, racism, dirty dealings haven't done him in but maybe the economy will. we've lived through a few recessions. it's easier for me to believe we can live through another recession and bounce back than to live through Trump for another 4 years and be left with a morally fractured country.

I think you are right. And what we don't really know is how well those business of his actually do. They are privately held and he refuses to reveal even old tax returns. There are plenty of things he could be hiding from voters and one of them is that his business decisions weren't nearly as smart as he claims. we know exactly what happened to at least one of those businesses. the Atlantic City casino. he bullied vendors. didn't pay some of them. filed bankruptcy. closed the casino. put people out of jobs. probably wrote off a lot of the losses on his taxes and made even more money from tax breaks. there have been many articles written about how he and his father ran their businesses to their advantages and to the disadvantage of any vendors or tenants who lived at their properties. You left out threw his own brother under the bus as being completely at fault

Finding his way out of a wet paper bag is complicated for Trump.

He probably thought he could run the nation like his businesses. He would bully companies, threaten to withhold money from them, declare bankruptcy and then walk away. Well, we have trillion dollar debt and at some point he will be voted out or will term out leaving the country holding the bag. Way back when, this was discussed and he did have the discussion about the trillion dollar debt etc and that he said to someone that he would be gone before it all hit!

Trump Towers Emirates. Trump Towers North Korea. he will take whatever classified knowledge or contacts he has about within our government and use it to his financial advantage once he leaves office. count on it. he will capitalize on his presidency.

The problem is his supporters only watches Fox News so they only hear of the good stuff they make up about trump. If they hear anything bad, it’s fake news.

Fixed it for ya. yup. you're right. just because he isn't in his new york office, doesn't mean he isn't running the show. his kids doen't shit without his say so. i'm sure they are wheeling and dealing every day. the boys more than ivanka. she's too busy stirring trouble in the political realm. thing 1 and 2 are probably knee deep in back room wheelings and dealings. and for those who stay at his hotel in Washington DC, i'm more than a few are trying to get into his good graces by lining his hotel pockets.

To my knowledge he has never had a successful business venture. What money he has, he has made through con, blackmail, money laundering and other criminal activities. Agreed. And most New Yorkers know it. He’s a joke here.
