Not very often. Today I am looking after my grandchildren as it during the school summer break - in the past week I have got together paper I wont use and some old embellishments, feathers, flowers, ribbon. I made mini scrapbooks from card which I hole punched then pulled ribbon through to tie into a bow for the spine. I printed off photos of their trip to Disneyland Paris. They had a great time gluing and sticking. I have left the remains to go into their craft box for future projects at their home

Thanks for all the comments. I know part of the reason my stash is getting bigger is that I haven’t been scrapping much for the past few years. I have been working full-time and in school finishing a degree. Starting my last semester this fall so the end is in sight! Come mid December I will have more time to devote to my hobby. I’m going on a scrap retreat next weekend and seriously looking forward to it. I also know that there will be some shopping also. I don’t have a LSS and when I have the opportunity to shop in real life instead of online I take advantage of it. This happened to me as well. I spent several years in school and finally finished my MBA in early June. It took me about a month to realize I don't have to be doing school--sometimes I still think I should be getting on with it. Now that I am a few months out, it is starting to sink in and it is GLORIOUS. The end is in sight for you--good luck in your last semester!! Thanks so much! I’m really ready to be done.

Every year! My process is a bit quirky. I take out my projects and I write down everything I used on them, that includes adhesive, writing tools, scissors, I mean everything. I then take that list and put all my items I used to the side. That is my must haves.
Then I go through the rest of my supplies and decide if I have outgrown it as an artist and if it is going to hinder me in my growth as an artist. I also like to add things to my list so I can grow. Like right now I am purging. I would like to concentrate on my manual die cutting and getting better skills. I am purging things I don't use any more to make room for die cutting items. I am having so much fun.
This year purge I realize I never ever use 12x12 pattern paper. I need to stop buying it. I am not going to use my stash. I did keep paper I can cut out ephemera images. The rest went to the purge pile. Now, I have room to grow my 6x6 paper that I do use all the time and specialty papers.
I donate most of my supplies. I do keep my tools in a six month box and if I haven't used the tool in six months then it goes. I have made tool mistakes in the past.
Also, this is the time I upgrade my tools. Purging for me is a time of growing, & upgrading.

I've seen a few crafters cut down their 12x12 for both easier storage and use, that might work for you too? Only if you actually like the pattern of course - some of the 12x12 stuff tends to be big designs that don't look the same once cropped down. Personally I struggle on storing 6x6 pads as I've yet to find the right spot and container for the few that I have.

I did a very rare purge a few months ago. If it was really not my taste or really really old I gave it away (stamps included) or threw it out. I have to keep my inventory since I lost a lot of beloved companies in the past 5-7 years. I stopped buying in bulk 10 years ago since I had SO much stuff even then. I missed out on collections I would love to still have in my stash! Wish I had older Basic Grey, Fancy Pants and October Afternoon etc. I don't buy as much or as often so I don't see the need to purge often or ruthlessly. What I really need to do is organize better so I can see and thus use my treasures.

Personally I struggle on storing 6x6 pads as I've yet to find the right spot and container for the few that I have. I go through 6x6 paper pads so fast I don't really need to store them. I use one of those cute little photo boxes that are always being sold for 5/$10 at Michael's. Box is never full.
My 12x12 paper was taking up 5 Iris Containers. I am like "NO!" It was too much for me. I know some of the girls are laughing so hard at my five measly containers and remembering that was the newbie/beginner days, lol. In all seriousness I think the last time I used a 12x12 paper was two years ago. I have been storing that paper for two years and it is not getting love. That makes me sad. It needs to go to somebody who will love it. Now I am down to one Iris box full that are patterns that I want to cut out images from. I am so happy with that. It is a very inspiring box for me.
I have thought about cutting down the paper but I am printing paper now, buying the 6x6 paper pads. I would just be storing old paper in cut up form. I feel like I am still hoarding and not using. Rather see somebody else need it and make something pretty with it.

Did a large purge a few years back and have been a much more critical consumer since then. I purchase way less now and know my style. Not into trends. I purge as I bring in new supplies. I don’t have the desire to use every die-cut or sticker. I go through new items and sort into my collection or put in the new items area depending. Any Nope items immediately go into the donation pile. It is great that some people challenge themselves to use every bit of supplies. I’ve tried but it’s just not for me. I find it kills my mojo to have items that I do not like haunting me. Loitering. Waiting to be used. Same! I did a big purge about 3 years ago and I have been super intentional since then. I don't have too much and have been using up my stash. Last year I did december daily with my stash and now I have a small, curated collection of Christmas leftovers. It's wonderful.
