If you have a mantelpiece! Here is mine: A Jim Shore ornament of Snoopy and Woodstock Two Dinky sports cars that belonged to my brothers in the 1950s Lego Steamboat Willie model which DS put there when he finished building it yesterday. It won’t stay there! My dad’s pipe. He died in 1985, and it makes me happy to see his pipe in almost the same place he always left it. Decorated wooden letters of our initials. A drinks coaster Two of the latest Lego Disney minifigures The ubiquitous fairy lights that I have just about everywhere. So tell or show us what is on your mantelpiece/fireplace?

My "mantelpiece" is the space above my entertainment center. I can't access 2peas through my phone. Give me a few minutes.

A 4x8 foot mirror with a pretty white frame, because there is no window on that wall
And dust.

Super fun!
Currently on my mantel is a checker board that has shot glasses for the checkers - they are all in a bin in my basement, and I keep meaning to wash them and put them out! I also have 3 jars - one is full of silk flowers that match the decor, the other two are empty. I had ornaments in them at Christmas and haven't managed to find something to add to them. I also have a canvas sign I made on one of my girls weekends. We always try to do something crafty. And finally a set of candle holders with decor matching candles on them.
Two years ago we put the cupboards/shelves in on either side of the fireplace. Regular kitchen cupboards on the bottom with a laminate mdf counter, and we made the floating shelves ourselves because we couldn't find anything sturdy enough for what we wanted.....

From left to right: an 8” high black metal bicycle, 2 framed botanical bird prints recycled from a calendar, in front of those—3 green glass votives, a bust of Artemis that I’ve decorated with a wreath of summer flowers on her head, a box covered in grasscloth, and on top of the box is a small glass floral tray propped up on an easel.

Hmmm. In the family room I have nothing because the tv is over the fireplace. In the living room I don’t have a mantel, the fireplace is very contemporary, but I do have a painting hung above the fireplace. Outside fireplace doesn’t have anything, I’ve been looking for something just right that can withstand the weather, but I haven’t found anything yet.

At the moment a snow scene picture which is a photo canvas with paint strokes in a big gold frame. It is a copy of an original that my grandparents had which my uncle picked. There are topiaries on the sides. Labor Day weekend it will be an Alabama Football mantel. I made bunting last year and have some photos, tickets, poms and a football which sits in a champagne bucket. It will stay that way until Christmas.

Take away the Christmas stuff and you are left with how ours normally is. The clock is in for repair at the moment. Yes, it ticks and chimes every 1/4 for those of you who don’t like noisy clocks!

I don’t have a mantlepiece but on shelves either side of our fire/tv we have just a couple of glass candle holders and a turquoise vase with orange ‘petals’ which tie in with the room colours - I’m rather minimalist I guess.

On our mantelpiece we have 2 barley-twist candlesticks and a Galileo thermometer on the right, a clock and two metal gecko ornaments in the middle, and 2 oil lamps and a tall green glass candle holder on the left. In between are thank you and anniversary cards. And dust.

A rustic wreath on a black metal wreath holder and two candles. It sort of drives me crazy because you can’t light the candles (they would catch the wrest on fire)...but I haven’t taken the time to change it (I hate decorating).

Ours has a "mantle" space and then a big square space above that. There are a bunch of small framed pictures, 2 or 3 sentimental knick-knacks, several of our beloved sharpei's stuffed animals and her collar, a metal Jack Skellington head, a dark purple/almost black skull glass jar, and a framed pencil drawing of previously mentioned sharpei that we lost to cancer a few years ago. (I had it made as a Christmas gift for my husband). There are also stocking holders (with picture frames on them so you can't see the letters ). Two of them have small wooden American flags, one has a wooden heart with a picture of my friends kids that she had made for me and one has 2 silver hearts (my kids names). My recently deceased dad's dog tags are hanging with one of the flags also. I'm sure there's an embarrassing amount of dust also.

My mantel is boring it mostly just has the sound bar on it that’s under the tv. If the tv wasn’t there I would have most of my crystals sprawled out on it, some card decks and the little rock waterfall in the middle.

We have our tv over our fireplace, which I hate. I feel like that’s the biggest mistake we made when we moved into this house. There is space underneath to put small items & I can put taller items on the sides without interfering with the tv. On one side I have a tall thin floral arrangement, a grouping of b&w photos and 2 candles. On the other side, I have 2 Asian lady figurines that DH bought me in Korea. I usually put small seasonal decorations in the small space under the tv. Right now, dd’s diploma & mortarboard are there. I used them as part of the decorations for her party this year & I just left them. Now that she’s left for college, I guess I’ll take them down and maybe put something up for Fall.

One mid-century Blenko glass owl bookend missing his buddy, a small brass mortar and pestle my grandmother bought in Turkey, an asparagus fern in a planter shaped like a hippo, a blue ginger jar the neighbor made for my mom in the 70's and an antique vinegar bottle that traveled by wagon train with my great-great (?--have to find the note my grandmother wrote) grandparents to California. My phone is dead so I can't post a photo at the moment. I also realize that I need some taller things up there. As you can see from the items above, I like to display things that have personal meaning or connections, so I need to form some sort of relationship with tall items suitable for display.

In the living room, there are photos of the family and a couple of candles.
In the family room, there is a decorative plate, a wooden carved fish that I got while on a business trip in Oregon, a carving of an acorn, and a couple of wooden trees that my dad made for me. Above the mantle on the wall is a sign that I bought totally because of the colors of it. I usually have a painting that my friend did of my parents above the mantle in the family room, but I pulled in when getting the house ready to sell. The fewer personal pictures the better, I'm told so its already packed. The living room photos will go away too. My family room is my tribute to Yosemite, my favorite vacation spot.

I change ours out with the seasons, but right now it has the basic stuff on it since I took the 4th of July stuff down. And this is a bad angle, but I’m being lazy and don’t want to get up right now! So, right now there’s: A family photo A HOME sign on an old window pane that I made My great grandparents clock A longhorn bronze trophy Candle sticks My great uncle’s spurs & his photo And hanging on the fireplace is one of my parents most famous TX Longhorn steer skull (the trophy is his)
