That is my very basic list, it depends if your DD already sews or is a beginner. Have fun.
I like phoenixcov ’s list too. I might add some Velcro to that and maybe a bodkin for threading ribbon or elastic. Oh, and a seam ripper and assortment of buttons.
I have purchased a few vintage sewing stashes during my yard sale and thrift store days. It was fun to see the vintage items and attempt to work with them. I have a few wooden sock darning implements, some metal things for folding fabric strips and making a rug.
If I didn’t have my sewing stuff already packed up, I would offer to send you any of my duplicates. That is if you want to include a couple of vintage items for fun.

What a beauty! I have one too very similar, and in pretty good condition. All the vintage bits are still in there. I do rather love it, more than DH does, and it belonged to his grandmother. That woman collected needle books - there must be about 10 in it, along with Altoid tins of more pins and needles, and lots of wooden cotton reels and darning wool, and bone crochet hooks, and blunt thread-cutters, and buttons and random unidentified bits and pieces.
